Hello, my name is Tomas Rainbolt. In May of 2000 I made the move to Toronto Ontario CA to be
with my fiancee. This move has brought new challenges to my life, one of which is seeking a job in
another country. As you may well know already, this is not an easy task. That is why I am opening this
site. To showcase my abilities for possible employers and clients. This site is a portfolio/business site. If I
can use it to help get me a job with an employer that would be great, and if it brings perspective clients
to me that is great also.

What I do, or will do.

These are the things that I like to do; logo design, sign design, ad design and copy, brochures, flyers,
business cards, letterheads, labels, and web design including; navigation, buttons, rollovers, layout and

More About Me...

I have always had an ability to draw from the time I was young. I guess it's something that I got from my
Mom and Dad, both are creative people. My Mom is a terrific artist/painter. She paints what she sees,
and it turns out wonderful. She is now getting into ceramics (something I'd like to try some day). My
Dad on the other hand is a great creative thinker, and can see how to finish projects before they start.
I thank them for what they have given me from that standpoint, and from the supportive stand that they
have taken with me over the years.

When I got older I found myself interested in advertising, well even when I was young I would recite a
lot of the commercials for the items that my Mom picked up in the store. I thought it was interesting
that a commercial could be embedded in such a young mind. I later found that it was the creative side
that made me interested in commercials. So when I got into high school I decided to take as many art
classes as I possilbly could. Turned out that over my four years I was able to take 8 classes. One of
which was commercial Art. I had a very good instructor, and over the three years that he was the
instructor we won the most ribbons at the State Art Show. My junior year I won the Governor's Award
for a geometric design that I did. The award is runner-up to Best in Show. However for some odd
reason I didn't receive the award for my work. I later found out the next year when my piece
returned from the Governor's Mansion that that was indeed where it had been.

Then came the computer, oh yes, graphics in a box. A way I could put my creativity and design ability
to work for different ideas that I get. For the first number of years I was stuck with (not really I was just
happy my parents bought it) a 286 with CGA graphics, that's right CGA. And the paint program that
came with it was unreal, haha. I found myself taking hours to mix different nuances of colors using a
manual dithering system that I made up. I remember one that I did of a mountain scene, if I remember
correctly it was one of my Mom's paintings that I created it from.

"I knew that Web Site Design was something for me.
What a palette for creativity in an interactive setting".

Moving on.... Just a year ago I was in school for Network Administration and Computer Hardware
Maintenance. Along with the courses required I took several computer software courses; Microsoft
Office 97, Adobe PageMaker 6.5, Corel Draw 8, PowerPoint, and HTML. The latter stuck with me, I
knew that Web Site Design was something for me. What a palette for creativity in an interactive setting.

Well that's me in a nutshell as this part of my life goes, maybe I'll open a site totally about myself for my
family to view.
