GOD, SPEAK TO ME"

The child whispered, "God, speak to me."
And a meadowlark sang.
The child did not hear. So the child yelled,
"God, speak to me!"
And the thunder rolled across the sky.
But the child did not listen.
The child looked around and said, "God let me see You",
And a star shone brightly. But the child did not notice.
And the child shouted, "God, show me a miracle!"
And a life was born, but the child did not know.
So the child cried out in despair, "Touch me God,
And let me know You are here!"
Where upon God reached down and touched the child.
But the child brushed the butterfly away...
And walked away unknowingly...<><
How often do we miss the little miracles
Because we're too busy looking for the big on

"I ASKED GOD..."

I asked for Strength....
And God gave me Difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for Wisdom...
And God gave me Problems to solve.
I asked for Prosperity...
And God gave me a Brain and Brawn to work.
I asked for Courage...
And God gave me Danger to overcome.
I asked for Love...
And God gave me Troubled people to help.
I asked for Favors...
And God gave me Opportunities.
I received "nothing" I wanted,
I received "everything" I needed.

TWO BOXES FROM GOD

I have in my hands two boxes
Which God gave me to hold.
He said, "Put all your sorrows in the blue,
And all your joys in the gold."
I heeded His words, and in the two boxes
Both my joys and sorrows I store,
But though the gold became heavier each day
The blue was as light as before.
With curiosity, I opened the blue
I wanted to find out why,
And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole
Which my sorrows had fallen out by.
I showed the hole to God, and mused aloud,
"I wonder where my sorrows could be."
He smiled a gentle smile at me.
"My child, they're all here with Me."
I asked, "God, why give me the boxes,
Why the gold, and the blue with the hole?"
"My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,
The blue is for you to let go."

ATTITUDE MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE

When a mother saw a thunderstorm forming in mid-afternoon,
She worried about her seven-year-old daughter
Who would be walking the three blocks from school to home.
Deciding to meet her, the mother saw her
Walking nonchalantly along,
Stopping to smile whenever lightning flashed.
Glimpsing at her mother, the little girl ran to her
Explaining enthusiastically,
"All the way home, God's been taking my picture!"

Rain Drops

One rainy afternoon I was driving along one of the main streets of town, taking those extra precautions necessary when the roads are wet and slick. Suddenly, my son Matthew spoke up from his relaxed position in the front seat. "Mom, I'm thinking of something." This announcement usually meant he had been pondering some fact for a while and was now ready to expound all that his seven-year-old mind had discovered. I was eager to hear. "What are you thinking?" I asked. "The rain," he began, "is like sin. And the windshield wipers are like God, wiping our sins away." After the chill bumps raced up my arms, I was able to respond, "That's really good, Matthew." Then my curiosity broke in. How far would this little boy take this revelation? So I asked, "Do you notice how the rain keeps on coming? What does that tell you?" Matthew didn't hesitate one moment with his answer. "We keep on sinning and God just keeps on forgiving us."
