These are a bunch of assorted links that I had put together. My tastes are eclectic so if it seems as if there is no rhyme nor reason as to why these links in particular are grouped together, then you might most likely be right. However, these links are grouped together according to my main interests at the moment.

One of the more popular Web-based chat services is Yahoo! Chat. Which is home to thousands of chatters day to day. Yahoo! chat provides chatrooms groupd according to certain tropics or general areas of discussion, although one easily finds that one isn't restricted to chatting only with regards to the topic of the room which one is in. One can also construct private rooms and send private messages. There are also sometimes scheduled certain special events in which famous personalities, ranging from rock stars to TV actors and actresses, participate in chatting with people all across the 'Web.
TalkCity is one of the fastest-growing chat communities on the 'Web. It consists of chatrooms grouped according to topic.
Virtual Places is another interntect chat tool--with a difference. Seemingly like a web-based chat tool, Virtual Places chat also has rooms rranged according to topic. The main difference here is that one chats using Icons--called Avatars--and Gestures, which are pictures which graphically establishes one's internet identity. Avatars and Gestures are easily available in a number of different sites all acorss the 'web. in order to chat, though, one needs to download and install the Virtual Places application from its website. It's free.
Not so much a chat tool as a full-fledged internet communication tool, ICQ is one of the most widely-used internet communications tools today. It is incredibly versaitle, allowing the user to send messages, send files, chat, and play games across the 'Web. Most of all, it's free and can be easily downloadable off the Mirabilis ICQ website.
Along with ICQ, Pow Wow is no mere internet chat tool, but is also a full-fledged internet communication devide, allowing one to chat, send instant messages, transfer files, play games with people all across the web, and participate in group chats ir rooms grouped according to topic. Most of all, it sports a fabuluous voice messaging application which allows long distance calls without long-distance costs.
