My tastes are eclectic so if it seems as if there is no rhyme nor reason as to why these links in particular are grouped together, then you might most likely be right. These are links which will take you to a number of free homepage providers on the 'Web. There are many other services which provde free homepages, excluding those which your Internet Service Provider (ISP) gives you when you sign up. However, these are the ones I could find which are not restricted to certain types of webpages, commercial or computer-related ones for example.

GeoCities provides free Personal Home Pages with 3 MB of storage space in one of their 40 themed communities to anyone with access to the Web. They also offer a free GeoCities Email account to everyone that signs up for a free home page. They currently have more than 1.1 million individuals sharing their thoughts with everyone all over the world.

Angelfire provides free personal home pages with 200 KB of storage space along with your own e-mail account when you register. Members can choose between using the Basic or Advanced Homepage builder, and members can upload their own HTML or graphic files. There is also an extensive graphics library on the Angelfire server for use by members

A website which not only offers free webpage hosting, Tripod is a full-fledged internet community providing chatrooms, as well as PODs which are online member communites where members can share interests and information, where members can interact with people from all over the world. Tripod provides 2 MB of storage space.

While registering for Delphi is FREE, your membership gives you many privileges. You can participate in the many live chats and message board discussions in the Delphi Communities. You can create and manage your own Personal Home Page using the personal homepage builder. essentially the builder uses forms, which makes building a page easy to do for the beginner, although this makes content limited for those experienced in HTML.

Fortunecity is a rapidly expanding community of Internet Users. Fortunecity comprises many different themed districts including music, movies, computers and sport. Members can move into a home in any one of a number of districts where members will receive 10Mb of web space absolutely free. Members can use this space to create their own web site by uploading their own files and graphics. Members who don't know how to create a web site can make use of a special homebuilder that will help create a distinct homepage.

The purpose of Phrantic is to encourage the creation of internet communities and platforms for free expression and the development of ideas. These sites are open for contribution and the public is encouraged to take part in their development. Phrantic believes that ideas are inherently "free" and that people can create a body of thought whose value is greater than the sum of it's parts. Because of increased demand, Phrantic is currently out of web space but will soon open some more spaces in the future.
