Asian
Invitational Tournament (A.I.T) will be taking place on
February or March 2002
in
Pennsylvania
State
University
campus (University Park Campus).
Approximately 18 teams will be participating. We
have sent out invitations to various schools and organizations in the
east-coast to invite people from various backgrounds to participate in our
tournament. We expect many more
replies after schools start in January. The
goal of this tournament is to raise awareness of our commonality.
Especially after the events of
9-11-01
the people from East-Asia have taken a hit in the public eye. It is our hope
that through this event we can comfort our fellow Americans through sports, as
it has been done throughout the country this year.
Facilitators of this event are just students wanting to improve
relations among various schools and bring the issue of unity to peoples mind.
We will only allow 18 teams to participate so to allow the best competition
in our tournament. The tournament will break down the 18 teams
into 3 divisions each containing 6 teams and playing a round robin.
So you will play a minimum of 2 games. 16 Teams will be in the single
elimination playoffs, regardless of divisions. After the round robin there will be a single
elimination playoffs. For more info about games go to Rules and Regulations
