Happy children are on
the endangered species list.

I think man's unthinking cruelty,
abuse and abandonment
are bringing them to the brink.

A society where children rank
second to pleasure, desire,
and time.

The way we ignore
and push our children aside
is a crime.

Our love and attention
is so important
in their formative years.

So why deny them this
and wonder why they shed
so many tears.

These tiny people
are gifts of love from God.

Do not discard
what comes to you
from above.

Or one day we'll know grief
and wonder what went wrong.

When all that was required of us
was a look, a touch,
and a bedtime song.
