Imaging Applications that can be Customized to Meet Your Precise Needs
The ImageBASIC Electronic File Cabinet® (EFC) is Diamond Head’s first application foundation, a source code set that permits ImageBASIC users to be up and running immediately, and customize as their needs require. EFC enables users to capture, index and store images using the embedded Microsoft Access® database engine, or the leading SQL databases like Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and SyBASE®. EFC was designed to offer VARs, vertical developers, and corporate developers a higher level starting point from which to commence their projects. Visual Basic developers can add features to the source code that target specific industry environments and processing arenas.
The ImageBASIC Electronic File Cabinet acts as a large database that tracks the location of stored image data in a central image storage facility. The user has a variety of indexing options - by date, creator, keyword, and a number of other different methodologies. The application permits users to scan from the network or from their desktop, and store the resulting image in a shared database.
Who Can Use EFC? EFC is the perfect solution for systems integrators and corporate developers who want to add distributed image capture and retrieval capabilities to their office environment. Use ImageBASIC to add functions to EFC and employ it in legal, medical, insurance, finance, and many other industries.
Enhancing EFC. The ImageBASIC Electronic File Cabinet can also be integrated with existing ImageBASIC applications and can be enhanced through a variety of additional ImageBASIC components. Image indexing can be automated through the addition of components that recognize machine and hand print, bar code, and check boxes. Full text indexing can also be included, through use of the appropriate ImageBASIC component. EFC can be scaled up to support the enterprise using one of several optical storage options.
Version of EFC are available for IBM® ImagePlus VisualInfo®,
Plexus® XDP Object Server, DynCorp Enterprize® , and Network Imaging
1View®.
