Product Information
For high performance, high reliability and cost effectiveiness in a storage solution, choose either the MX520 or MX540 from Maxoptix. You’ll get immediate access to 52GB or 104GB of data, making them perfect for data intensive applications including document imaging, data archiving, and network mass storage.

Both Optical Storage Libraries are configured with the T4-2600 and will be configured with the new T5-2600 by fall of 1997. Optimized for optical library operations, our industry-standard 2.6GB format drives approach hard disk data access and retrieval time. Also, they outperform hard drives in cost per megabyte and data interchange capabilities.

Features and Benefits:

Built for high performance
The Maxoptix MX520 and MX540 service your data requests fast. The system's robotics can load a disk in less than 2 seconds. And the T4-2600 optical drive supports a data transfer rate of over 4.6MB per second. Any data you request is available automatically, within seconds.

Reliable
These jukeboxes are designed to exceed the reliability needed for your most demanding applications. Based on the most efficient mechanical design in the industry, the MX520 has a proven MSBF (mean swap between failure) of more than 750,000 cycles, while the MX540 boasts 1,000,000 cycles.

Full support for key optical formats
Based on the Maxoptix T4-2600 multifunction optical drive, you can load the jukeboxes with any of the four generations of ISO compatible media; 650MB, 1.0GB, 1.3GB and the latest 2.6GB capacity disks. Applications with write-once data requirements benefit from the drive's support for CCW media in all ISO generations as well.

Complete software support
Available for these libraries is extensive support from an array of third party software. You'll have support for applications including document imaging, Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM), data backup and simple on-line hard disk emulation. Plus support for today's most popular operating systems including NetWare, Windows NT and all popular UNIX platforms. This means the jukeboxes offer full compatibility with your existing environment and you can continue to use the software you rely on most.
