Maxoptix presents the PX family of network ready optical storage servers
to bring reliability and value to the networking environment. By providing
a complete turnkey solution, the PX series bridges the gap between your
network and a Maxoptix optical jukebox. Designed with high-to-mid range
networking environments in mind, the PX series is pre-configured to be
fully optimized for optical storage connectivity.
Simply connect the PX Optical Server directly to your existing Novell
Netware or Microsoft Windows NT network. It appears to your network as
a Novell 3.12 compatible or Windows NT server with up to 135GB of storage
capacity. To make the installation simple and painless, the PX family includes
an easy-to-use, fully
integrated GUI configuration and storage management utility. The PX
Optical Server can be managed remotely, right from your desktop or any
other desktop you choose on the network.

Storage can be logically partitioned into multiple drives
System administrators can create virtual disks of any size for any
application, big or small. The PX Optical Server also supports the latest
in optical disk spanning technologies to appear as a Netware or Windows
NT server with up to 135GB of contiguous capacity, like a massive hard
disk.
Remote management capabilities
Integrated with remote management capabilities, the PX Server is designed
to be managed from the desktop or any PC workstation you choose on the
network. There is no need to install an additional monitor or keyboard
to the PX, all configuration can be managed remotely.
Installation in less than 30 minutes
Simply piggy-back the PX to either the MX520, MX540, MX552, MX5104
or MX5258 jukebox, attach the SCSI cable that is included, connect to your
network, and you're ready to go. Jukebox management software is already
installed, so there is no configuration or compatibility issues to manage
- all is taken care of in this true turnkey solution.
