Nikon JBM Optical Jukebox Series
Product Information
The JBM optical jukebox is composed of a number of 5.25-inch MO disk
internal drives with LIMDOW technology and the changers that load and unload
the MO disks onto and off of the drives. LIMDOW technology (Light Intensity
Modulation-Direct Overwrite) enables MO disk writing twice as fast as with
conventional models, and by shortening the average seeking time, the access
speed has improved tremendously. Also, since the head of the MO drive does
not touch the disk ("noncontact" system), malfunctions, such as head crashes,
hardly occur. The disk itself is resilient against magnetic and other atmospheric
forces that destroy data, making it possible to store the data semi-permanently.
