Your window to the world of
aperture card scanning has just opened.
The high speed Vision Series 3000 scanners are
cost effective production scanners for large backfile scanning projects
converting aperture cards to digital images.
The entire scanner line features complete stand-alone
systems that assure easy installation, operation, and image control. No
software development or system
integration is required due to the pre-installed
scanning software application running on the host computers.
The batch feed design provides high speed continuous
operation and offers a unique blend of unsurpassed speed, reliability,
and image quality. Stacks of aperture
cards containing A-E or A4-A0 sized engineering
drawings can be automatically identified, scanned, indexed, compressed,
and stored.
Raster format conversion, text addition, line
repair, despeckle, deskew, image editing, and other enhancements can be
completed with the powerful raster editing
features.
By far the most cost effective scanner in its
performance class, one 3000 scanner can easily manage the work of several
slower scanners.
SCANNER FEATURES AND COMPONENTS
All Together Now
Photomatrix has seamlessly integrated the scanner,
capture software, component connectivity, scanner operation, and
product support. Just switch it on and begin
to scan. It's as easy as 1,2,3,4,5.
1 SCANNER
The three models cover the range of imaging needs.
The 3200 (200dpi) and 3400 (400dpi) are full sized floor models with external
host computers and monitors. The 3512 (200dpi) addresses compact table
top operation and incorporate its own internal host computer.
2 CAPTURE SOFTWARE
The high speed image capture software manages
all scanner functions, imaging, indexing, image editing, and QC control
with point and click convenience and minimal operator intervention. Either
Windows 3.1 or NT versions run on the high speed fully featured PC host
computer with 120dpi high resolution monitor.
3 COMPONENT CONNECTIVITY
Compatibility, integration, and conflicts are
no longer a consideration with the stand alone design. The 3512 keyboard,
monitor, and mouse connect directly to the scanner. Add a network or SCSI
interface board for instant connectivity to a wide range of networks and
storage devices.
4 SCANNER OPERATION
The 3000 series maximize efficiency by automatically
feeding the cards and recognizing the Hollerith information for mixed sized
batch processing. Poor quality cards can be manually fed, indexed,
and evaluated. The transport's straight path insures
virtually no jamming, and the deep hoppers hold up to 500 cards for unattended
operation.
5 PRODUCT SUPPORT & SERVICE
Each customer receives a personal touch, knowing
a team of engineers, technical support, and training experts stand behind
every Photomatrix product. Service is
available 24 hours a day, every day, and field
engineers are located in major cities throughout the USA and Europe.
SOFTWARE FEATURES AND BENEFITS
The Finishing Touches
Photomatrix aperture card scanning software applications
provide a flexible, modular approach to put the finishing touches on all
your images. With two to chose
from, the customizable Windows 3.1 and NT versions
fit specific application requirements in PC environments. Installation
and setup are easy because the 3000
series Aperture Card Scanners come with software
already loaded and tested.
Designed with an open client-server architecture
for image and database communication with third party software, our applications
utilize object orientation
programming technology to automatically schedule
and track batches of scanned images through the inspection, enhancement,
indexing, data reorganization, and
export functions.
The Windows version takes full advantage of the
latest programming techniques and interface ease of use. The NT version
utilizes the most powerful version of
Windows with pre-emptive multitasking to work
on multiple tasks simultaneously. It is scaleable and runs on either Intel,
RISC, MIPS, DEC Alpha, or Power PC
platforms. It also features advanced US Government
C2 level security and easily connects to existing networks and host systems.
BATCH IT
Time intensive tasks such as image enhancement and indexing are automatically
managed, scheduled, and tracked in the background. High production
scanners run optimally when cards are organized
by batches and recognized without operator intervention by specifying a
Hollerith field as a document trigger, or by
detecting inserted Control cards.
VIEW IT Images can be quickly displayed as they are scanned for a quick check or they may be retrieved later for careful evaluation.
ORGANIZE IT
Image files and index entries may be updated for format compatibility with
other retrieval and viewing systems. Images may be inserted, moved, or
deleted within batches.
CHECK IT
Image quality and index integrity are assured either at scan time, allowing
the operator to view results immediately or later as the work flow permits.
Extensive image editing enhances and improves
selected images by despeckling, deskewing, edge cropping, smoothing, and
rotating for better quality, and
appearance.
RESCAN IT
Difficult cards producing less than acceptable images are evaluated and
tracked for interactive or unattended rescanning where adjustments to the
threshold and dynamic tracking, cropping, rotating,
and skew removal are made.
CHANGE IT Complete operator control provides a full complement of editing features to view raster formats, crop, redline, and extensive image editing.
EXPORT IT
Our software applications verify the integrity of the export database,
the existence of image files, and the disk space before entering new image
filenames in the export database. The images
are then moved to the target directory and the index records are updated
for automatic import into many of the most
popular database software products.
