QStar Data Director is our top-of-the-line network storage management
software, and includes all the capabilities needed to handle sophisticated,
large scale client/server networks.
QStar Data Director provides a cost effective method of maintaining
a high level of data availability, integrating all your network storage
media - client and server magnetic disks, as well as on-line and off-line
optical, CD, and tape libraries - into a single, centrally managed storage
hierarchy, appearing to users and applications as a standard magnetic disk
with virtually unlimited storage capacity.
Compatible with multiple platforms and operating systems, and independent
of your application, kernel, file system, or medium; QStar Data Director
can organize and manage resources of even the largest and most heterogeneous
networks. With QStar Data Director, you get the same level of data reliability,
availability, security, and integrity as provided in the mainframe environment
- plus immediate access to all your data.
QStar Data Director allows smaller sites a more affordable entry into
storage management technology. As your site grows, you can easily add on
functionality with QStar Secure (mirroring software), and QStar Network
Migrator (client side migration). With QStar's extensive support of multiple
hardware platforms, QStar Data Director users can start with small, single-user
system using QStar Jukebox Manager or QStar HSM and continuously upgrade
to high-end multi-terabyte, multi-hundred user systems.
System configurations are available for servers, workstations, and
desktop platforms.
