high levels of data accessibility to network users, ANDATACO designed GigaRAID/SA,
an intelligent,
expandable storage subsystem that minimizes network
downtime while maximizing user productivity at an affordable entry point.
GigaRAID/SA provides a unique
set of high data availability features that include
proactive monitoring and e-mail error notification, redundant hot-swappable
power supplies and fan systems, and
global hot sparing with user-definable rebuild.
ANDATACO's GigaRAID/SA Deskside Expansion Cabinet
includes an electronics package featuring indicators for drive activity
and environmental status as well
as a serial port for communications across a
network. By adding an expansion chassis, capacities of up to 127GB are
attainable. A cable-less chassis provides
complete self-maintenance allowing every active
component to be user-replaceable. GigaRAID/SA's architecture features one
fast-wide single-ended SCSI-2 host
channel and two fast-wide single-ended SCSI-2
drive channels. (Cache memory is sold separately, available with 64MB,
and must be purchased with every
system.) Through ANDATACO's RAID Management Utility
(RMU) software package, users can easily identify a failed component as
well as reconfigure RAID
sets. This utility allows remote monitoring capabilities
through a World-Wide Web application using Netscape.
