Based on the same production oriented transport as the VS-1251, the new VS-2500 duplex scanner is designed for medium to high volume applications of over
5000 pages per day.
 

Designed for High Speed Scanning
The VS-2500D scanner is designed with the same reliable mechanical transport as the VS-1251. Using two high speed cameras, the VS-2500D is capable of
capturing two sides of a letter size document at the speed of 38 pages (76 images) per minute. Using a combination of straight through pinch rollers and belts to
transport the paper, the VS-2500D captures images virtually without skew.

High Quality Images
The VS-2500 Duplex scanner uses a 4096 pixel stationary Linear Array combined with a built-in image processor board which provides convolution filtering,
dynamic background tracking and single pixel noise removal. In addition, the scanner provides a selection of different ranges of darkness settings. Four ranges of 8
settings each allow the user to select the optimal combination of contrast and intensity for a given document. Control panel menus allow the use of the same scanner
with green and red lamps.

Operator Friendly Design
The VS-2500D is designed to be operated from a comfortable sitting position where the paper transport runs perpendicular to the operator seat. The paper is
placed in the feeder at the front end and can retrieved at the back end. The VS-2500 duplex scanner can be conveniently moved on its easy-glide casters, unlike
bulky and dangerous to carry desk-top scanners.

Standard Interface
The VisionScan 2500D is designed to emulate the Fujitsu 3096E which makes it readily compatible with most interface cards. A Kofax tool-kit is available with the
scanner for integrators with DLL and VBX support.

Complete Range of Options
The VS-2500D scanner offers the complete range of options available on the VS-1251 single sided scanner plus some options unique to the model.

Double Feed Detector
Mechanical paper transports will inevitably grab more than one page at a time when the separation mechanism built in the transport cannot separate them. Thanks to
its clutch driven page separator, the VS-2500 significantly reduces such occurrences.

In option, a set of sensors located in the paper-path, control the presence of two documents moving simultaneously through the scanner. These sensors are placed at
the entrance of the feeder and will immediately detect a double feed and stop the transport.

Pre-scan Imprinter
An ink jet printer can be installed in the transport of the VS-2500D allowing a tracking number to be printed on the front of the document before scanning. The
numbering scheme is under the control of the host program. Numbers are printed from top to bottom on the edge of the paper. Thanks to the pre-scan imprinter
option, the number appears on both the document and the image.
