Executive information systems are focused on meeting strategic information needs of the top management as the top executives need information to support their strategic planning. Executive information systems can help top management with immediate access to information about the firm�s key factors that are critical to accomplishing an organistion�s strategic objectives.
Regarding to two management concerns of BSA in decisions about the future of the business and its expansion in the operation and the access to up-to-date information, the management decided to outsource parts of information systems functions to service providers. The service providers have provided the DSS system to assist with the key decision making and EIS system to address the management�s access to information. Both DSS and EIS systems are able to use the data resources available in the existing system, SSS of the company.
With the outsourcing of two parts of information system functions, BSA can reduce costs, increase customer satisfaction, and provide other effectiveness and efficiency improvements in the operation of the company.
