Exchange v5.0 question:

  1. 1. Step-by-step migration from x400 MTA to Exchange Server. Backbone of X400 connectors. You don?t want NDR?s of messages for users that are not yet migrated. What to do? -make custom recipient of non migrated X.400 users
  2. - external x400 MTA with rerouting of all messages to x400 MTA and Exchange Server MTA - couple of other things with rerouting
  3. - disable "exchange server MTA" during migration You have an IP-range of addresses. Users within the range (204.57.128.0
  4. - 204.57.128.255) can access your Exchange Server with a web client. Not with Pop3, NTTP and LDAP clients.
  5. 2. How to reject the range from connecting?
  6. - disable IUSR account in User Manager for Domains
  7. - exclude range of IP addresses from DHCP scope
  8. - use Internet Server manager to reject the range
  9. - create WINS or LMHOSTS entry of each IP address you want rejected You are migrating users.
  10. 3. They show you a few lines of the migration file. The only address specified in the file is SMTP. Yet x.400 etc. addresses are being generated. How can you stop it.
  11. -Put blank Spaces in the migration file for unwanted addresses.
  12. -uncheck unwanted addresses in site addressing.
  13. 4. The names are being autogenerated and have nothing to do with the migration file. Uncheck them in site addressing How does Gateway Services for Netware do what it does between a NT workstation and a Netware server. You have 2 Netware servers and 100 netware clients. You want to add an NT Server with SQL resources. You make the NT Server a member of the netware domain, then what?
  14. -create a local group on the member server
  15. -place the users in a global group place the global group into the local group -create a global group on the member server place the users in a local group place the global group into the local group
  16. -create a local group on the domain place the users in a global group place the global group in a local group
