Free Software
for AIX Platforms
Brian T. Luke, Ph.D.

Here are links to FREE software that are available for AIX Platforms. The software listed below is divided into two categories: those I have partially or completely written, and thrid-party programs that are needed to install or display the results generated by the programs I've written.

Please note that these programs have only been compiled and tested under AIX 4.1 and 4.2. In order for them to run under AIX 4.3, a recompilation is necessary. This work should be completed after the first of the year, so you should check back in February, 2000, to get programs for AIX 4.3.

Programs I've Written
GO2I AIX 4.1/4.2
GO2I is a simple program that reads the "archive" entry of a Gaussian9x output file and generates an input file with exactly the same geometry.

RELENE AIX 4.1/4.2
RELENE is an interactive program that asks for the internal and zero-point vibrational energy of different isomers, and outputs the relative energies of these isomers in kcal/mol.

VRMol AIX 4.1/4.2
VRMol accepts chemical structures from various sources and constructs VRML (*.wrl) molecular plots.

Third-Party Programs
gzip/gunzip AIX 4.1/4.2
gzip/gunzip compress/uncompress files. This procedure produces smaller compressed files than with the UNIX compress command.

VRWeb AIX 4.1/4.2
VRWeb is a separate program that displays VRML (*.wrl) files.

I hope you enjoy running these programs and that you will check back later for new additions.
