This is what you should do.

The intention of this page is to give you some ideas that you might actually implement to improve your home. As an architect, is part of my job to at least try to fulfil my client's ideas and expectations, within all its' limitations.

This the first arch-idea posted here, so you haven't lost anyone yet; but be careful because I don't know if I will keep'em after each new idea is posted. If you like it, be sure to at least save the page into your hard disk.

The mirrors' miracles.

This idea was created as a solution to many requests I had, from people I know, friends and familiy. If you're making your house right now, you can use it; and if you have one already and would like to add a nice touch to the living room or the foyer, you can use it too. In fact, everybody can use it... it's the main idea.

It's everybody's desire to have bigger spaces (whitin reason) because they make you feel more comfortable; but sometimes, different situations don't allow you to make them (specially financial situations).

It's an architect's job to make the best out of the avaliable space & funds, and turn them into a comfortable space based on the client's desires; but then again sometimes it's impossible to make what they want. This is when the imagination makes its' entrance.

You can use a big mirror to cover a closet door or a specific part of a wall in a room. It'll give the room the look and feel of more space and light. Here are some things you might want to read before you start:

Use your imagination: just imagine where you should put the mirror and how it would look like with it.

Be conservative: be careful... don't go all around your house placing mirrors like a maniac.

The main goal is to add a nice touch, not to try to make every single room in your house look bigger.

I don't have to describe it all to you. I mean... look at the picture: even though it's cropped out of a bigger image to show only the mirror closet door, you can feel all the space, and that it is bigger, because you can see it in the mirror.

Another good thing about this idea is that you can make it yourself. If you have the correct tools and skills, you can finish it in about an hour.

That should wrap it all. Check back some other time to see another good arch-idea. If you have one you would like to see posted here, send it to me. Hope you liked it.
