The specific objectives of this association include:
To enrich the professional development of the members
To serve as a common platform to share the concerns with other students in the same field
To deepen the unity among the members
To instill social sensitivity among the students of social work
To strive for the social justice and sustainable development of the fellow beings.

COPSWS since its inception have undertaken a variety of programs. With a purpose of supporting the scholarly and literary initiatives of the students of BCM college COPSWS members brought out a bi-annual news magazine named Educere, a Latin word meaning “to bring out”. The first issue was released on December 1, 2002.

The campus survey on Teenagers’ Concerns revealed significant findings about the insecurity feeling among the respondents.

The cleaning campaign organized at the Medical College Hospital, Kottayam was a program which proved the social concerns of social work students through their active participation.

Organizing celebrations and facilitating common programs of the college are the other major activities of this student’s association.
