TOWER OF POWER
MEET THE BLACK MONOLITH THAT WILL NOT ONLY CHANGE
THE WAY YOU PLAY GAMES BUT THE WAY YOU INTERACT
WITH ALL FORMS OF TECHNOLOGY. FOREVER
It was an event that was covered by mainstream
media from around the world. The date was
March 4th, 2000, and Sony finally unveiled its
next-generation game system to throngs of awaiting
Japanese gamers. Three hours after the launch, the only
Remaints of PlayStation 2 were display boxes. In the
next two days it would go and sell just under million
units. An unprecedented launch for a video games
machine - but this is no ordinary game machine.
A convergence of technologies, the PS2 is the first
videogame console with the ability to play games and DVD
movies. But within a year, it will do much, much more.
Touted by Sony as a "complete entertainment system," the
PS2 marks a revolution in home entertainment. Boasting
processing power that rivals supercomputers, it is without
a doubt the most powerful home console ever produced.
It's time to take an up-close and personal look at this
awsome piece of 21st century technology.
