Vigen’s Trip to Singapore!

After many months of invitation , vigen finally decided to visit Singapore and his fellow irc friends. It was his first trip overseas hence he definitely felt a sense of excitement. It was rather daring of him to come Singapore alone as he did not know anyone in Singapore except us and his uncle. Imagine if we were to 'fly his airplane', he will surely kill us….but then of course we are not such people. *hehe* In fact like what he said he was treated like a king during his stay in Singapore. Initially he was suppose to go back on Tuesday but think he really enjoyed his trip (thanks to us…*keke* **thick-skin**), he extended his stay till Friday.

During his eight days’ stay here, he stayed at CancerianGal’s house and a day at Tenshi's place. They sacrifice their bed for him to sleep….so nice of them…*hehe*. While bringing vigen around Singapore, it also gave us, the tour guides, a chance to revisit some of the places of interest and also to visit some of the places which we ourselves have yet to visit. We also let vigen try all the different types of food in Singapore since Singapore is well-known for its food paradise. I think he got quite scare of food as we often offer him lots of food to eat…*hehe* FOOD? FOOD?? *muahahaha*

His eight days trip here, made us realized his favourite phrase is (pointing with three fingers) “ANYTHING”!!!! Think we got quite scared of his ‘anything’. Whenever he says this, we will only get a headache. Each time before we ask him a question, in our hearts, we already know what kinda of answer he gotta give us. *hiaks hiaks* *faints* *smacks forehead*

Here’s a short diary of the events vigen did for the week:

Day 1 (19th June 1998 Friday)

Initially we are suppose to pick vigen up at Golden Mile Complex but it was changed at the very last minute to Woodlands Check point. Hence S-K-Y had to rush down to Woodlands to pick him up…*heng ar* S-K-Y haven’t leave for Golden Mile yet *hehe*. After picking him up both of us went to Calen's place to pick up the food for the #Heavens BBQ later that evening. Later we went to East Coast where vigen got to meet with the rest of the heaveners and singas’ ops. (For more details on the BBQ, pls go to the link.)

Day 2 (20th June 1998 Saturday)

Today, tenshi_gal, greenhorn and CancerianGal brought vigen to tenshi’s house for a while and after that we proceeded to town for lunch. We went to Scott’s picnic for lunch. The place was rather crowded as usual. While walking to the food court, we passed by CK Tang and that day was the launch of the annual Great Singapore Sale. So CK Tang had some ongoing promotion and performance outside its store. The band performance caught vigen’s attention and besides this, there were the power rangers too. Erm… town was very crowded and it was vigen’s 1st time there so we were very afraid to lose him, we kept keeping a lookout for him and constantly reminding him not to wander around and to follow us closely. After lunch, we only brought him to stroll down Orchard Road due to time constraint. Thereafter, we went to Centrepoint for ice-cream ‘Dripping Dots’. Very interesting, colorful and delicious ice-cream. After our ice-cream, it was time for vigen to go meet the #singpals friends for another round of BBQ. *hahaha* After his BBQ, we met again at Raffles MRT Stn @ abt 9pm. We brought him down to boat quay and clarke quay for a look. After that, there was really nothing much for us to do so we decided to catch a show. We watched ‘Deep Impact’ BUT … BUT … the cinema was very cold … nah it was more like freezing!!!

Day 3 (21st June 1998 Sunday)

We met up at Bishan for lunch and later brought vigen to visit his uncle in Braddell. After that, calen, greenhorn and S-K-Y brought vigen to the OmniMax theatre as Malaysia does not have a 360 degrees wide screen theatre. We watched 2 shows consecutively. They are Mount Everest and Great Places. Both the shows are not bad though it was rather crowded as that day was Father's Day. After that we met Loverger at Jurong East and had dinner together. Later we showed vigen Singapore’s only ice skating ring though he said Malaysia also have one and the cost is much cheaper than Singapore.

Day 4 (22nd June 1998 Monday)

We (calen, greenhorn, CancerianGal, tenshi_gal and S-K-Y) brought vigen to Singapore’s must go attraction for all tourists - Sentosa. vigen came just in time as there was a promotion going on in Sentosa. With just $19.90 per person, we can get to see all the major attractions for 'free'. The places we went were Underworld World, VolcanoLand (disappointment), Fantasy Island (nope ... we did not swim ... hehe), Images of Singapore (Wax Museum), Asian Village, Merlion and the Musical Fountain. We spent one whole day there and at the end of the day, all of us were a bit tired. Today, vigen went to tenshi_gal’s house to put up for the night.

Day 5 (23rd June 1998 Tuesday)

CancerianGal picked vigen up @ City Hall MRT Stn, supposedly to bring him to Tampines but vigen boi wants to meet his friend from Malaysia. So We went to meet his friend and we sat @ the food court to chat. During his so many days here, this is the 1st time I see vigen boi talk so much!!!!!! He talked non-stop with his friend but of course in Cantonese. After their chat, they wanted to go to the “Guan yin miao” at waterloo street. So we went, prayed and his friend wanted to ‘Qiu Qian’ and after that we left our separate ways. We then went home to get something b4 we go to vigen’s uncle’s house for another visit. We sat and chat for a while and left for Chomp Chomp @ Serangoon Gardens for dinner with S-K-Y. We ordered a few different dishes and after our sumptuous dinner, we went to Marina Sq for bubble tea as vigen said that they don’t have bubble tea in Malaysia. While having our tea, vigen drew something on a piece of serviette and pinned it onto the notice board there so if anyone is going there, probably u can keep a lookout for vigen’s masterpiece. *hahaha* Thereafter, we went to CHJIMES for a walk and we also went to Marina South after that.

Day 6 (24th June 1998 Wednesday)

Today, calen brought vigen out to Chinatown. They went there to have lunch, shop and of course sight-seeing. About evening time, calen brought vigen back to CancerianGal’s place. Then we set out for Zouk … yup that’s rite! *MAMBO* *muahahahaha* WOW!!!! Vigen dress very very smartly but too bad we din take any pictures. After we got our ‘chop’ @ Zouk, tenshi_gal and CancerianGal brought vigen to Great World City for dinner. We went to keeny Roger’s for dinner and we had a very enjoyable dinner (esp when we had the boi boi to ourselves how can it not be enjoyable leh? *hiakz hiakz*) @ mambo, all of us were very happy. S-K-Y, wala_wala, vigen, CancerianGal, tenshi_gal and katongboy was there. Well, vigen boi could dance very well u know!!!! *kekeke* We can see that he enjoyed himself a lot and after mambo we went to KOPITIAM @ Meridien Hotel for supper.

Day 7 (25th June 1998 Thursday)

A good excuse for all of us to sleep till late late due to yesterday’s MAMBO. *hahaha* B4 meeting the rest for another day of activity, CancerianGal brought vigen to Golden Mile to buy a ticket to go back to Malaysia the next day. Then we met S-K-Y and tenshi_gal @ Bugis Junction. We shop there for a while and had dinner @ the food junction there. Eh, as usual, vigen was stuffed with many different types of food again. (he is really a lucky boi) *hahaha* After dinner, we went to Tampines for bubble tea and then went to Changi Airport to take some pictures. CancerianGal was hungry *kekeke* so we went to S-11 @ Stamford Rd there for supper.

Day 8 (26th June 1998 Friday)

Sigh …. Vigen’s going back home tonite. CancerianGal brought vigen for breakfast @ McDonald’s as Malaysia’s McDonald’s do not have breakfast meals. After breakfast, we met calen, tenshi_gal, greenhorn and S-K-Y for a nice tim sum lunch @ Goodwood Park Hotel. After lunch, those who had something on left and the rest, we brought vigen to Centrepoint for that colourful ice-cream again. We proceeded to Suntec Carrefour after that as vigen wants to buy some e33s back home as they do not have it in Malaysia. We walk walk for a while and went to have dinner. After dinner, we rush back home to get vigen’s bag as he had to catch his bus back to Malaysia by 10pm. Only the few of us (S-K-Y, greenhorn, tenshi_gal, calen and CancerianGal) went to send vigen off. When we sent him off, all of us were rather sad that he is going back.
