| .... but names will never really
hurt you |
A famous philosopher who is long deceased once said
something along the lines that words are just that- words. In todays
politically correct society, words are censored as much as a womans
bare tush on television or Eminem performing live on Sesame Street.
Lets face it: while words do convey messages, they do not actually
harm anyone.
Has anyone ever died because they were called a "poopie head?"
Has there ever been a terrorist holding a building on hostage with
his potty mouth? I think not.
Words are just words. The actions committed are the real culprits
in hate crimes. People say things sometimes without thinking logically
quite often. It happens to everyone daily. If our fellow peers could
perhaps have a better sense of humor and not take the words so seriously
all the time everyone would be better off.
Theres a reason why our high schools discipline policy
is just as severe for uttering naughty terminology as it is for pounding
someones face in. Try to figure this one out, cause we sure
as heck cant. Sounds ridiculous, but then why do people get
so aggravated over words in the first place? Words, insignificant
words, thats all they are.
Arguments are made that words do hurt but in most cases they are meaningless
and should be brushed aside. For people that cant control their
thought/speaking process shouldnt be bothered about or considered
a problem.
Words arent the problem. The people are the problem. People
that take words too critically ought to begin concentrating on the
actions of the person rather than their ignorant gibberish.
Only the truly determined people can endure insults to only make them
a stronger person. The words themselves arent anything to shed
tears about. You can take these annotations made and create a more
positive look in your own life. |
