D-ZYRE

My name is Richard Charles Begley, "Rick" to my friends and there's nothing wrong with that, but like many before me I reckoned I needed a stage name.

Adopting another name is not easy and I didn't like the idea of using someone else's name like "John Smith" or even a name like "Bobby Dazzler" or something even more naff like "widget"!
So after a long time bouncing names off the wall I came up with "Desire" and even that has it's problems; venues sometimes expect a girl and despite spelling it "D-ZYRE" I even have comperes and D.J.'s Announcing me as "Desiree"!!

My name is Rick Begley and I am D-ZYRE. I'm here to entertain you with songs from the 80's-90's and any requests. If I've got the Track I can give you the song and I've got a lot of tracks! (currently over a 300) Sets are chosen from these to provide a 1 hour 30 minute show.

Many of the backing tracks I have had made specially for me by the excellent Glen Phillips studio. The highly professional and fast service provided means he has often had a backing track made for me within a couple of days of a new release.

In addition to this my extensive collection of C.D.'s etc. means I can also offer a supplementary D.J. disco service for weddings, functions and other special occasions.

Most artistes take some lighting withn them to a gig and I am no exception, until recently I was lugging around �10,000 of stage lighting and employing two roadies. But the vast majority of gig's couldn't take it all or the big venues didn't need it. So I've re-vamped the set-up, going for a more sopisticated, more compact high tec lazer effect units which has to be seen to be appreciated. (For the techies see "equipment" link)

I have also continued my policy of "aiming for excellence" and continuosly upgrading my P.A. means I use the latest state of the art system, compact, unobtrusive but powerfull, crisp and clear.

D-ZYRE is a road show and I travel all over the U.K. and abroad. (seasonal work only) If you have a venue, then I have the talent and the desire to be there!
