2 Timothy 2:1, 3-4: You therefore, [daughter], be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 . . . for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ . . .
Ph.4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy meditate on these things.
2 Timothy 3 admonishes us that, in the end times, there will be weak women who never are able to come to a knowledge of the truth. This is not weakness of the body, but weakness of the spirit, soul and mind. Romans 12:1-2 tells us that we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. The Greek word for renewing actually means renovation. We are transformed, day by day, into the image of Christ as our minds are renovated. I think about renovating a house. I have some friends who bought a beautiful old house nearby. On the outside, it doesnt look too bad. But as they have worked to renovate the inside, they have had to tear out walls, redo electrical wiring, change the plumbing for new pipes, and completely redo the house inside out.
As God renovates our minds, He needs to rip out old thought patterns, old habits and old expectations and replace them with HIS thoughts, HIS habits and HIS expectations. How do we facilitate that process? By pushing ourselves first spiritually and mentally. Getting into the Word daily. Embracing instruction. Applying Gods teaching to our own lives.
Ladies, we need to do personal housekeeping. When we clean our homes, we are brutal with the dirt, mess and cobwebs. The spiders laborious work is sucked unmercifully into the vacuum. The dust is efficiently whisked away with the dust rag. Dirt is religiously scrubbed away with the cleaner. Mess is tidied and the house is put into order. We need to take this same attitude to our own lives. We need to take stock of those things in our lives which fail to line with the Word of God and brutally discard them. This includes guarded dreams, precious expectations and embraced habits. We need to embrace the sharp scalpel of the Word of God as we allow the Holy Spirit to do holy surgery into our habits, our thoughts and our lives.
We need to use our minds-our brains-to study the Word of God vigorously and to, with discipline and choice, bring every thought under captivity until our thoughts are pure, gracious and loving. We need to slough off our mental laziness and become strong women of the Word.
This ministry-Christian WWB (Women With Brains)-has been established to challenge Christian women to attack their own spiritual growth with vigor and with a vengeance, to get serious about being Christians as we learn to study, learn to correctly exegete and learn to aggressively apply the Word of God to our daily lives. Christian women are not weak, but are strong in the Lord. We need to refuse to give into the curses and attacks of Satan and to discipline our lives, our thoughts and our emotions that we might become soldiers of the living God. On this website, you will find resources to help you in your personal journey toward becoming a strong woman of God-Bible studies, study resources, discussion forums, and hyperlinks to other Christian ministries. As iron sharpens iron (Prov. 27:17), we are women who have gathered together with the determination to become strong women in the Word!
