MIG-27-FLOGGER

One can mistaken between the two Mikoyan fighter bombers, Mig-23, and Mig-27.  Similiar to Mig-23, Mig-27 - a Russian fighter bomber aircraft - is a variable geometry wing aircraft.  The primary mission is to destroy moving and stationary, fixed and mobile ground targerts including hardened targets.  Mig-27K, a variants of Flogger, is equipped with PrNK-23K integrated navigation and aiming system which consists of an Orbita - 20 - 23K airborne digital computer, and optical television indicator with Kaira - 1 laser and television sighting system.  Mig-27 can carry three types of air-to-surface missle:  Kh-23M (AS-7 Kerry), Kh-25ML (AS-12 Kegler), and Kh-29L (AS-14 Kedge).  The Kh-25ML is laser guided ait-to-surface missle.  The missle has a semi-active laser homing head with the range between 2.5 km to 10 km, the speed up to 400 -450 metres per second.  Besides the aircraft can carry some laser and TV guided bombs like KAB-500L and KAB-500KR.  Like Mig-23, it also rely on R-60 air-to-air missle to defense itself against enemies, but with more advance version - R-60M.  The missle can engage the manoeuvering target up to 12g.  Mig-27K aircraft is equipped with a modern electronic countermeasures suite including a new passive jamming system.
