Jace turned around to see a medium sized man standing there a mist, the smoke. His long blonde hair was tied back into a pony tail. He was a well groomed man, even his goatee was finely combed. His apparel was entirely in black from his suit, to his pointed shoes, even to the trench coat he wore, which flapped back gently in the breeze.
Jace recognized the man from the office. Mr. Kassidy had came to aquire his daughter.
“Stay the fuck away from my daughter!” Jace yelled in a violent tone.
Without so much of a warning he drew his gun with his free arm from his back holster. The 45 magnum made a thunderous loud boom as he pulled the trigger. The bullet speed toward its target, striking it with such force that it knocked Mr. Kassidy off his feet.
A cold evil laughter filled the air as he stood back up. Brushing the dirt from his suit, his eyes again met with Jace’s.
“I believe you have something I want.” Mr. Kassidy calmly replied to Jace’s attack.
Jace dropped his gun in fear, backing away. Wrapping his arms around his daughter he kept walking back till he hit the side of his truck.
“I will be taking her from you know.” said Mr. Kassidy coldly.
“Daddy! Help me!” screamed his daughter as a unnatural force ripped her away from Jace’s arms and placed her into Mr. Kassidy’s.
Jace watched in horror as the CEO handed his daughter to the blonde thing resembling a female that he had seen in the back of his truck. He wasn’t going to stand there and, so gathering his courage he charged towards Mr. Kassidy.
Mr. Kassidy didn’t even show a bit of concern as Jace rushed him. He simply turned to the enraged man and held his hand up, as if to motion to stop. Jace felt a force strike him, sending him souring up and backwards. He sailed over the burning truck as his body hit the ground with a loud crack. Jace grabbed his side. He could feel the broken rib piercing his skin.
Jace watched helplessly as Mr. Kassidy and the demon bitch walked into the black smoke, disappearing from sight. He could taste the salty tears dripping from his face as he turned his attention to his wife, who was still unconscious out in the truck. He could hear the sirens of the rescue crew pulling up, he would remember the heat from the fire as his eyes grew heavy as he blacked out.
When Jace finally came to in the hospital days latter he woke screaming his daughters name. Misty was there as she tried to calm her husband down. Jace was insistent, that there was no time and he had to go save Angel. Misty started to cry as she told him that their daughter was dead.
Days later police came to question Jace on the accident. Jace told a young officer by the name of Victor the story of his investigations on the company called Placid Inc. and, that a man by the name of Kassidy had his daughter. The police officer stated that their was no Mr. Kassidy that had worked for Placid Inc. Jace stuck to his story, He believed in his heart that his daughter was still alive.
