It is the year 2015, in Tokyo 3. An Angel, an alien being, attacks the Earth. Luckily, the Earth was prepared, having survived a first Angel invasion before the turn of the millenium. They initiate a program called the Evangelion program. Evangelion Unit 00, the prototype, cannot defeat the Angel. Both the Eva and its pilot, Ayanami Rei, the first child, are badly wounded.
Luckily, a second Evangelion has been prepared, Unit 01, the test-type. Ikari Gendou, Commander of Nerv, the government organization in charge of the Evangelion program, calls in his son Shinji to pilot Unit 01. Shinji succeeds in destroying the Angel, and decides to stay on as a pilot. From there come three more Evangelion pilots; all are sworn to defend the Earth against the Angels. Now, if it were only so easy as all that...
Evangelion's ending is very bad. It all ends on a what-is-a-dream-and-what-is-reality? note. In fact, the ending was so bad that fans demanded that the ending be changed, and animators agreed. So the last two episodes have been or are supposed to be redone. A movie is also planned, called Evangelion: Death and Evangelion: Rebirth. Asuka is once again a pilot, and some girl with black hair and glasses comes along... A game for the Sony PlayStation will also be made available soon.
