Monument to Sir Walter Scott.
Called a "steeple without a church" it's a gothic style monument to the Scot writer of Ivanhoe, Rob Roy, and others. There are 287 steps to get to the top, stopping in a small room at the first level and two "observatoin decks" above. Warning! The last set of stairs is so tight you better not be a broad shouldered claustrophobe! It's a tight fit to pass people on the stairs below, it's impossible on the third set - you will rub your shoulders against the walls! But the view from the top is worth it.
