"You don't want to blow up those bombs while you're still on this ship," Williams says.
"No, but the threat should be enough for you to back off. And I have this hostage," Lothair says. He pokes at you with the laser pistol. Then he points the pistol at Williams.
That's when you spring into action. You grab the arm that holds the pistol, and you reach up to strike his carotid artery. You know that the carotid artery brings a vital supply of blood to the brain. If you could cut off that flow, for just a few seconds, Lothair might become disoriented, or even unconscious or unable to resist you. Lothair doubles partway over, and you manage to grab his laser pistol. You snatch it away with both hands, but then Lothair grabs onto you.
"Try the oldest trick in the book, eh Spacer?" Lothair says. Before the other Spacers can stun him, he snatches the laser pistol from your hands and points it back at your head. With a flick of a knob he resets it to heavy stun and shoots you with it. You go limp. You've been paralyzed by the stun, so you can't fight. He sets the laser pistol back to a more powerful, deadly energy level.
"This time, I'm serious. Everyone, drop your weapons!"
The Spacers slowly put their weapons down on the floor.
"I'm going back to my ship. If you follow me, I promise you, I will blow up the bombs."
The Spacers back off. Lothair drags you toward the Tal'adaar'aan ship, Al'slkrati Kagaa.
"You'll be my slave," Lothair says to you. "What do you think of that? Maybe I'll do some experiments on you, or something." You try to move, but you can't. There's no way to fight him.
"I'll just throw you in the slammer for a while and let you sweat it out, Spacer. And then when you think I might have gone soft on you, then I'll have you tortured, or lobotomized, or killed."
It doesn't sound
like a future you will like. Lothair sets the laser pistol to stun
again, and this time he stuns you until you are unconscious.
