"We'll have to negotiate something that he agrees with," Williams says.
"We could tell him that the Vladimir is out there," you say. "And we could tell him that we know he can't get his ship to launch. If he knew that, he might give up."
"Or he might do something drastic," Muldoon says, "and just blow up the rest of the bombs."
The lift capsule stops.
"This is it," you say. The doors to the lift open.
You and Muldoon head one way, and Williams and two other Spacers head the other way.
"Can you hear me, Lothair?" you shout out, hoping he can hear you. You don't hear anything. You and Muldoon keep walking along, and walk between several huge crates of cargo. You call out to Lothair again, but you don't hear anything.
"Can you hear me, Lothair?" you shout again.
Lothair doesn't answer.
"This isn't going to work," you admit, after several minutes of looking for Lothair.
"You finally admit defeat," a voice says from behind.
Whirling around, you see Lothair. You and Muldoon both reach for your laser pistols, but Lothair already has his. He shoots a red bolt of energy at you and Muldoon stuns him. As your life slowly ebbs away, you see Muldoon arrest Lothair.
"We beat him,"
you groan. Those are your last words.
THE END
