"Did he take the controller for the bombs?" Muldoon asks.
"I don't see it anywhere," Williams says. "Lothair must still have it!"
You find the communications console on the Bridge. It seems pretty straightforward, so you press the appropriate buttons to scan the space around the Farragut. A few moments later, you are informed that one of the Union's two Flagships is following the ship.
"It's the U.S.S. Vladimir!" You say. Even though the Vladimir is not the newest Flagship of the Union, you know that she has gone on many successful raids against the pirates.
"Captain Aaron Wells will know how to handle this situation," Williams says. "Signal the Vladimir."
You press a few buttons and manage to get a signal going. A holographic image of Aaron Wells appears in a special viewer.
"This is AGN - 16280 U.S.S. Vladimir," Wells says, "if you are space pirates, we advise you to surrender immediately--"
"We're not pirates," you say.
"Who are you, then?"
"I'm Shawn Astrid," you blurt out, "and these people with me are Spacers from the Starfalcon!"
"Good work," Wells says. "You must all have been very resourceful in disarming the bombs Lothair planted. But have you caught Lothair?"
"Well, we sort of--" you say.
"We didn't get him," Williams says.
"We can scan through the Farragut with our sensors," Wells says, "We'll scan for Lothair, and tell you where he is." Wells turns his face away from the viewer for a moment, to speak with another officer. A few moments later, Wells tells you where Lothair is.
"He's back in the Cargo Bay, trying to get into his stolen Tal'adaar'aan ship," Wells says.
"Trying?"
A Tal'adaar'aan face appears in the viewer picture taken from Vladimir.
"Kein Spacers," the Tal'adaar'aan woman says, "I am Captain Gokh. The ship Lothair has stolen is my ship, the Al'slkrati Kagaa. With help from Kein Captain Wells, I have used my security codes to make my ship completely shut down. Catch Lothair quickly, or he may override my codes."
"We'll take care
of Lothair," Williams says.
Minutes later, you're riding in a lift capsule that's headed for Cargo Bay Three.
"Should we shoot first," you ask, "or should we try to reason with Lothair?"
"If he has the
bomb controller, he might blow up the ship with it."
Do you try to talk to Lothair?
