"Dear Shawn Astrid, the whole of the Union of Planetary Republics is grateful for your service in answering a call to action. We thank God that you willingly answered the call to action against the space pirate Ian Moriarty Lothair. Though you are not a Spacer, you have conducted yourself with the honor and the heart of a true Space Explorer."
The letter continues:
"I, Admiral Thomas
MacHaley, wish to invite you to a ceremony to honor you with the Union's
Congressional Medal of Honor. You have not only served as a true
Spacer, but you have also served this great Galactic Nation."
You are flown to the ceremony, aboard the U.S.S. Vladimir, where Admiral MacHaley, Captain Wells, Captain Williams, and Patricia Muldoon have also assembled. There are many other officers and crew from the Vladimir and the Farragut. As you arrive, the assembly is called to order.
"We are here to honor Patricia Muldoon, Captain Joel Williams, and Shawn Astrid for answering the call to action against Ian Moriarty Lothair," Admiral MacHaley says. "Thanks to the Starfalcon Spacers and Astrid's actions, we have averted Lothair's Terrorist Takeover, as well as capturing fifty known pirate criminals, and returning lost property to the Tal'adaar'aan Empire. Because of the actions Astrid was willing to take, the Union has not only averted a diplomatic incident with the Empire, but has also ended the threat of the largest pirate criminal syndicate in the Union of Planetary Republics."
"Thank you, Shawn Astrid, Captain Joel Williams, and Navagator Patricia Muldoon, for your excellent service to the Union and for your willful answer to the calling. We pray to God that you continue to listen to the conscience He has enabled you with, 'to trade with honesty, to serve others with love, and to live as a light for civilization; protecting the innocent, promoting justice, adhering to the law, following God, protecting those who are in trouble on the high spaces, and rendering assistance to those in need.' Amen."
Then Admiral Thomas MacHaley pauses to open an envelope that contains three medals.
"It is my pleasure to honor you, Shawn Astrid with the Union's Congressional Medal of Honor." Admiral MacHaley hangs the medal around your neck.
"And it is also my pleasure to honor you, Navagator Patricia Muldoon with the Union's Congressional Medal of Honor." Admiral MacHaley then hangs a medal around Muldoon's neck.
"Finally, it is my pleasure to honor you, Captain Joel Williams with the Union's Congressional Medal of Honor." Admiral MacHaley then hangs the last medal around Williams' neck.
"Let everyone on board your ship be honored by your achievements, and be encouraged to do as you have all done, in the name of the Lord."
Admiral MacHaley
steps aside from the place where he stood to speak. Then everyone
else in the room gives you, Muldoon, and Williams a round of applause.
You realize that Lothair's plan has been stopped, and you are glad that
nobody else was hurt. Facing charges of murder, he will be imprisoned
or exiled for the rest of his life. He will never be a threat again.
YOU WIN!
