"You don't want to blow up those bombs while you're still on this ship," Williams says.
"No, but the threat should be enough for you to back off. And I have this hostage," Lothair says. He pokes at you with the laser pistol. Then he points the pistol at Williams.
"Are you sure you want to do this," Williams says. "You have to realize that U.S.S. Vladimir is out there. If you try anything to escape, they'll stop you."
"I can blow up the Farragut if the Vladimir tries anything stupid," Lothair says.
"But there's something you don't know," you add. You muster up the nerve to talk back to your captor. "The Tal'adaar'aans are also out there. They might even have ships out there to blow yours up."
"You won't succeed," Lothair says.
"Maybe we won't," you say. "Maybe the Vladimir and the Tal'adaar'aans will."
And then, they do. You've stayed in one spot for a long time. Suddenly, a voice fills the Cargo Bay:
"This is Captain Wells of the Vladimir," the voice booms, "Everyone stand by for teleportation!"
Then a teleporter force field surrounds you, Lothair and the Spacers. The entire view of the Cargo Bay is replaced with a new scene: The Bridge of the Union Flagship itself. There's only one person missing: Ian Moriarty Lothair.
"What happened?" You ask.
"We've diverted Lothair to the Brig," Captain Wells says. "He's officially in our custody now. And hopefully he'll stay that way for a long time. I want to personally congratulate you and the other Spacers for your bravery in defeating Lothair."
"I was just doing what I thought was the right thing to do," you say.
"I can't say more either," Williams says. "But there were other Spacers who helped us get rid of Lothair.
"We'll return you to the Farragut," Captain Wells says, "and we'll also send teams over to help repair the ship. The Farragut was diverted toward the Union border, and we think the pirates may have intended to enslave the people and sell them to the Rhu'Jranarians or to the Iadlydians.
"Thanks to your work, we can turn the ship back before we leave Union space. Stand by for teleport..."
In a few seconds you and the others are back on the Bridge of the Farragut.
"All right, everyone,"
Williams says, "let's get this ship turned around."
You really, really do not want to go back one page...
