Benedict is the oldest living son of Oberon.
Benedict is reported by Corwin to have spent "every day
of his life studying weapons and tactics". He is proficent in
all weapons. Like Gerard, he has no interests in the
politics of the family and kept his wereabouts a secret. His part
in the story began when Corwin chanced upon him on a
shadow similar to Avalon.
The events caused by Dara and Oberon caused
Benedict to have a conflict with Corwin. Things got
better after Benedict listened to Random's account of
his journey with Corwin.
Benedict played a key role in the defeat of the
Courts of Chaos. He was not present at the
standoff between Brand and the rest of the family.
