Corwin
Corwin is a son of Oberon, prince of Amber.
The lead of the story, it is told from his viewpoint.  He was interested in music when young, having composed a ballad which Random's wife likes.  He also befriended a young noble whose talent in music later surpassed him...

Son of Oberon, prince of Amber.
One of the three most attentive students of Dworkin.  Bleys is the weakest in magic compared to Brand and Fiona and is more inclined towards the use of force.

Son of Oberon, prince of Amber.
The villain of the story, the prince who went beyond desiring the crown.  Brand had always been quick to take offense as well as causing them, yet there's a likeable nature in him.  He's an artist, and probably take after Dworkin.

An aloof guy, Caine loved the sea.  He was known to be closest to Julian.

Princess of the Court of Chaos and great grand-daughter of Benedict.
Dara rescued Oberon from his imprisonment in the Court of Chaos.  She teamed up with him to preserve the ruin of the Universe.

  Dworkin
Corwin's grandsire and father to Oberon.   Dworkin was a Lord of Chaos before his betrayal.  He created Amber by inscribing the Pattern with his own blood, using the Jewel Of Judgement.
Dworkin created the Trumps for Oberon's children and instructed them in its use. His most attentive students were Bleys, Brand and Fiona.

  Eric
Corwin's elder and strong contender to the crown.  Both brothers hated each other.  Yet, they have the same tastes.  Eric has always been the better fighter of the two.
In a duel, Eric defeated Corwin and left him for dead.  However, he did not move to take the crown even when Oberon went missing.  However, he has the support of Caine and Julian.

The strongest of Oberon's children, Gerard is rather slow of wit.  He was placed in charge of the navy during Eric's regency.

Son of Oberon and Rilga, prince of Amber.
Spontaneous and hot-tempered.  Julian loved the great forests of Amber.  He patrols the forest for enemies as well as hunt within it.  He has a horse bred out of the Shadows.

  Martin
Son of Random and Vialle.  Grand-son of Oberon.
Martin was conceived by the romance between Random and a princess from Rebma.  Right after he was born, Random abandoned them.  The princess comitted sucide and queen Moire proclaimed a death sentence of Random should he ever return.

  Merlin
Son of Corwin and Dara.  Grand-son of Oberon, great great grand-son of Benedict.
Merlin was born after the events described in [Guns of Avalon].  Ever since, he was brought up in the Courts of Chaos.

  Oberon
Son of Dworkin and the Unicorn.
The first king of Amber.  Oberon has lived longer than anyone could remember.  He had many wives and children.  Oberon wears the crown of Amber and the Jewel of Judgement as his office, though he rarely wears the jewel.  As a king, he was known to be harsh, perhaps heartless.  He was feared for his strength and unknown powers and its believed he could be one of the most powerful person alive, save Dworkin.

  Random
Son of Oberon and husband to Vialle.
The youngest son of the family.  Random has possibly the least care in the power struggles of the family.  He enjoyed travelling far from Amber, visiting lands, gambling or playing his drums.  He has the greatest musical talent in music in the family but despite that, admires Corwin for the piece he composed.  Just like all member of the royal family, Random is no weakling in a fight.  However, being physically small and not as skilled as his brothers, he would normally prefer to run from a fight.

  Unicorn
A magical creature that appeared before Dworkin when he fled from the Courts of Chaos.  On her horn hanged the Jewel of Judgement.  In one of Dworkin's saner moments, he referred to the Unicorn as Oberon's mother.  The Unicorn is the only creature known to be able to enter the Abyss and leave it alive.

  Vialle
Wife to Random.
A lady of Rebma, Random was forced to marry her as a punishment.  When Random was placed under house arrest, she willingly spent her time in confiment with him.  She is a good listener as well as a good judge of character.  Random grew to love her and hides no secrets from her.
