Son of Oberon and husband to Vialle.

The youngest son of the family.  Random has possibly the least care in the power struggles of the family.  He enjoyed travelling far from Amber, visiting lands, gambling or playing his drums.  He has the greatest musical talent in music in the family but despite that, admires Corwin for the piece he composed.  Just like all member of the royal family, Random is no weakling in a fight.  However, being physically small and not as skilled as his brothers, he would normally prefer to run from a fight.

Random was playing cards outside Amber when he responded to a distress call from Brand.  He was chased by the guards all the way to Shadow Earth and asked for Corwin's protection.  His part in the story thus began.

He journeyed with Corwin in Flora's Mercedes.  On route to Amber, they rescued a sister and was forced to flee to the safety of Rebma.

Random was forced to marry a blind girl but the marriage turned out to be a happy one.  He became a more responsible and down to earth person.  The change is so great that he went to look for his son Martin.  After the Pattern War, he was chosen by the Unicorn to become the next king of Amber.
