Other Characters who were here for a time

Trader - The Trader was a grizzled old man who Ryan and J. B . Dix travelled with until they met Doc and Krysty.  He ran a train of wags ( see weapons and wags ) and travelled all over Death Lands trading his goods with different villes and towns.  He travelled with warriors to protect the trade wagons and the crew they carried.  At different times, according to how easily obtainable wags were he ran different amounts of wagons with trade goods.  The Trader is in the first book and later rejoins Ryan and friends far down the road but in the mean time he is presumed dead but Ryan and J. B. often quote some of his more brilliant sayings.  He is a man you come to know through his axioms and his thoughts as seen through the eyes of others.  Enough said.

Abe - A sec man ( see Secmen and Barons ) for the Trader, he was with Ryan and J. B. when they met Krysty and Doc.  He was a man of above average height, a veteran of many fights and a good man to have beside you at all times.  He leaves Ryan's crew when he thinks he sees the Trader in a flash flood and goes off to search.  He appears a few times through the books and shows up when the Trader does later in the series.  Abe was dressed much as a marine of the 20th century would be.  He wore combat pants, shirt and jacket with the high lace up boots that protected his calves and carried a number of weapons.

Finnegan - Another of the Trader's sec men, he too was with Ryan and J. B. when they met Doc and Krysty.  Dressed a lot like Abe and a veteran of many fights he does not survive too many more battles with Ryan's crew.

Hennings - One more of the Trader's sec men that is in at the beginning but does not last long in the series.  He too is a fatality early on and although like Abe and Trader in battle, he does not have the luck, that they did.

Lori Quint - Lori is a Six foot blond teenage girl that Ryan and the crew save from a Baron in the colder regions of the earth and shortly after her rescue from him becomes a close companion to Doc.  Even though there is a great age difference between them they soon become inseparable and rely on each other to keep them sane and with the group.  She is usually dressed in long pointed heel boots and leather.  Her hair is shoulder length blond and her features show her young age.  Lori is with the group for quite a few episodes and then something begins to happen to her mind and as her time with the group ends she is struggling with thoughts of doubt and remorse.

Michael Brother - In a redoubt ( see redoubts ) a gateway has been left open and running with an experiment half way ran through on a time trawl.  Ryan and the crew decide to see what happens and end up trawling a young monk out of a monastery.  Not having any name other than Michael they tagged him with Brother by reversing his name.  Instead of Brother Michael, he became Michael Brother.  They soon find that although raised all his life in a monastery, it has not left him completely with out weapons.  Michael is an adept in the marshal arts and although he has been taught never to kill, soon adapts to the ways of survival in a world gone mad.  He leaves the crew after a few episodes.
