On this page you will find the various stories and myths surrounding the origin of Dragons. If you know of any more legends or tales about dragons please send them to me at [email protected]

There are many cultures all over the world which feature some kind of Dragon. Most Chinese dragons are long and serpent-like with no wings, while others, such as European dragons are more lizard-like and have long tails and wings which they can use to fly. There seem to be many kinds of dragons, almost one for each culture on Earth, but how did these Dragons come into being? What is the truth behind the myths? There are many answers to those questions, perhaps we will never know which one is the truth.

One of the most popular theories is that the bones of the dinosaurs inspired these cultures to come up with the myths of Dragons. This would certainly explain how the Dragons seem to exist in myths all over the world. The people of our ancient past must have seen these bones and believed that they came from a great creature, and their imaginations made up the rest.

I would love to believe that Dragons once roamed the Earth. I adore the idea of them and have done since I was about three years old when my favourite song was Puff the Magic Dragon. It is my love of Dragons that fueled my creation of these pages. Although it is taken for granted by most people that Dragons don't and never did exist, I do not pay any attention. Even if this is true, Dragons exist in my heart and soul, and no one can destroy them there.

So here is my collection of Dragon Myths. I hope you enjoy them. As I said above, if you know of any more then please sent me them. Thanks!
