Weeks 41-59
Week 60: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1343
Entrancy way of the ruins of the Windsor family tower
Marcus continues whispering (in Elvish): "Everyone ready?"
Sebastien stoops down and gathers three pebbles.
Marcus (in Elvish): "Gianbattista, could you give us a five count?"
Gianbattista nods, then starts whispering (in Elvish): "1......2......3...."
During this time Sebastien has casts a Magical Stone on the stones in his hand and Clain notches a sheaf arrow. and Kagemaru suddenly starts unfolding what turns out to be a bow. As everyone in the group gives him a quick curious looks (Clain seems to approve) he also notches an arrow. Gianbattista continues: ".....4...." Clain & Kagemaru pull back and take aim, while Marcus points his sword towards the lurker and starts casting burning hand and Sebastien takes aim too.
No longer whispering, Gianbattista concludes: "5!"
And Clain & Kagemaru release the bow strings sending their arrows flying, Sebastien lobs the enchanted pebbles, and Marcus completes the casting and sets his palm on the flat of his blade as the five sheets of flame shoot up the blade from his fingers at the lurker, all four of us attacking it simultaneously, the two arrows and the three stones dissapearing into the flames hitting the creature.
The Lurker lets out a great squeal and falls from the ceiling as Clain, the trained archer, fires another sheaf arrow into it as it falls all the way to the floor and hits the ground with a loud thump that even makes us cringe. The Lurker, obviously severely wounded and/or shocked flaps around the floor ackwardly but Clain already has another sheaf arrow ready and fires it into the creature, and asides from a final twitch, it stops moving and it's just lying there. You also notice that there is now a flight arrow lying on the floor in the middle of the tower with its shaft on fire.
What do you want to do?
Week 61: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1344
Your in the tower, you've just killed the lurker after a concentrated
surprise attack.
Gianbattista steps to the forefront and after looking at the dead lurker says (in Elvish): "good work heroes, Lord Windsor didn't fail when chose you...now I suggest to looking for the ring and flee before encountering other mounstrous things..."
Suddenly something flutters overhead and Sebastien yells out (in Elvish): "Look out!" and everybody ducks as Sebastien steps forward, grabs Gianbattista and pulls him back and throws him behind him, a bit hard, as Gianbattista goes stumbeling backwards into the entranceway.
Marcus yells out (In Elvish): "Spread out so that it can't get us all at once!"
Sebastien stays by the passageway to the entrance with Gianbattista behind him as Marcus & Clain spread out along the walls on either side. Kagemaru , running and ducking at the same time, darts across the room and turns around upon reaching the opposite wall.
You now get a chance to see what's going on, there are three more lurkers, but they are much, much smaller, each about 2 or 3 feet across, they must be young ones. There flying around the room, causing each of us to constantly having to duck, one of them flys out the small hole in the roof, but there are still two fluttering about the room.
What do you do/say?
Week 62: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1345
to Clain:
The Baby lurkers are still fluttering about througout the room. You've since realised that there are still 3 in the room, so there must of been four to start with. Everyones having to keep ducking to avoid them but they don't seem to be directly attacking, they seem more like a confused flock of bats. Marcus swings at one as it cvomes near him but he missed and actually hits the wall above and behind him and you hear that unique sound of steel on stone. Sebastien begins casting another magical stone spell. Marcus starts slicing through the air like crazy while very slowly walking forward. Sebastien finished casting the spell and throws the first of the three stones at the baby lurkers flying overhead. but the first misses and sails through the air and hits the wall, fairly close to Kagemaru, then bouncing to the ground, now a normal, inert, pebble. Sebastien throws the second (this time aiming at one where if he misses it won't hit someone else). But this one also misses and hits the floor near the wall about equal (safe) distance between yourself and Kagemaru. Sebastien, seeming frustrated, forcebly lobs the third at one of the lurkers and hits this time, the baby lurker dropping a lot of altitude, but recovering and starts flying about the room even faster. By now Marcus is almost to the middle of the room, still swinging thorugh the air, and he actually does manage to strike one of them, a bit aquardly, but managing to send it to the ground, dead.
What do you do?
to Marcus,
you said:
----------------------------------------------------
I draw my sword and slice through the air like there's no tommarow. All while walking slowly and steadly forward.

Sebastien begins casting another magical stone spell. Marcus starts slicing through the air like crazy while very slowly walking forward. Now your busy trying to watch for the lurkers, ducking as neccesarry, when suddenly a glowing stone just misses you and bounces off the wall next to you, it then bounces to the ground, becoming a normal, inert, pebble. You look across the room at Sebastien and see him cringe at what nearly happened. Sebastien throws the second (this time aiming at one where if he misses it won't hit someone else). But this one also misses and hits the floor near the wall about equal (safe) distance between yourself and Clain. to Gianbattista,
you said:
--------------------------------------------------
staying well behind Sebastien, trying to control the movents of my body caused by the fear, because I DO have fear, I take my dagger in my right hand and I watch the room: is there something other than the dead lurker? I
mean some rocks, a club...if yes and they are near I will try to pick up them. If they are too far or there aren't I wiil do nothing else than wait hoping that the warriors will be able to kill them before the small lurkers will hurt me...however I'm goimg to defend myself at least for a round...
-------------------------------------------------
you look around for something to use in addition to your dagger, but you don't see much. Just beyond Sebastien is a pile of Refuse, and you can see an occassional lick of flame from the burning arrow in the middle of the room (beyond the pile of refuse). But you don't see anything else, in fact, you can't see much because of your location in the entrancway. You can see Kagemaru across the room, constantly having to duck, and you occasionaly see a baby lurker flying about, but you can't see the sides of the room where Clain & Marcus are at.
Your distracted then as Sebastien has to make a particularily low duck, thrusting his staff upward through the air, but not hitting anything. You tighten your grip on your dagger. You now have to focus on stopping your shaking (while still watching for any incoming lurkers). You now notice that Sebastien has just completed casting a magical stone spell and begins lobbing the pebbles into the air, you do hear what you think might be one yelp, but your not sure, it was a very interesting sound whatever it was.
You can now see Marcus, just begining to come into your field of vision, he is slowly approaching the center of the room while swining his sword through the air like crazy, and you actually see him hit one and send it to the ground, dead.
What do you do/say?
Week 63: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1346
To Clain, Marcus, & Kagemaru,
Gianbattista, upon seeing Marcus strike down one of the lurkers, yells out from the entranceway (in Elvish): "Good work Marcus"
Marcus continues advancing slowly forward toward Clain, all the while swinging through the air, and stepping over the now burnt arrow in the middle of the room.
The remaining two lurkers are still flying around the room but they seem to be calming somewhat.
Clain says (in Elvish): "Lets get the hell out of here" right before having to hit the deck to dodge an incoming lurker swooping by, as he starts to pick himself up Kagemaru takes a few running steps forward and flips into the air {5(9 on a -5 dex check} and draws his Khopesh in mid air. He manages to slice into one of the lurkers {19(12) attack roll} and Kagemaru (after being lightly buffeted by the lurkers wing, 1 temp. hit point of damage) and the lurker both fall to the ground. In the impact and tumble Kagemaru looses his grip on his khopesh and he goes rolling across the room, stopping just to the Sebastien's right (he takes 1 hp of damage from the fall and resulting tumble). His khopesh is still lodged in the lurker which is now flapping around on the ground, obviously in extreme pain.
This all happens behind Marcus so he doesn't see this and once he's about 6 feet from Clain he make a right turn, which is when he first notices what happened out of the corner of his eye. Sebastien steps aside to go over and help kagemaru up.
What do you do/say?
to Gianbattista,
From the entranceway you can't see everyone, Sebastien is standing with his back to you right in front of you. Kagemaru is across the room. Clain is off to the left out of view. And Marcus has just come into view slowly advaning from right to left and managed to hit one of the lurkers.
You yell out (in elvish?): "Good Work Marcus".
He continues walking slowly forward, stepping over the burnt arrow, all while slowly swinging through the air.
You hear Clain say (in elvish): "Lets get the hell out of here" but a lurker veers over in that direction and you hear what sounds like a thud and a soft "umf." but you can't see what happened, in fact from your position you haven't even been able to figure out how many there are. You know there's at least three if not more, but Marcus got one so there at at least 2 left, probaly more.
You now notice Kagemaru in action. He takes a few steps forward and then leaps into the air and draws his khopesh. He slices into a lurker and they both fall to the ground, behind Marcus. Kagemaru goes tumbeling out of your view to the right (and you hear another "umf..") but his khopesh is still in the lurker which is now awkwardly flapping around on the ground with the khopesh sticking out of its wing.
Sebastien steps off to the right (you presume to help kagemaru) leaving nothing but air between you and the room with the lurkers. Marcus turns to his right too so his back is to you. You suddenly think, Kagemaru can't see you now (and vice versa), Sebastien & Clain is out view, and Marcus's back is to you, none of the heros can see nor even protect you at the moment. While you were busy with that brief panic thought flashing through your mind, you realise that the door had opened behind you and someone (or possibly something) is running up behind you!
What do you do?
Week 64: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1347
In the Tower
To Clain,
While your busy keeping an eye on the final lurker:
Marcus agrees with you and says (in Elvish): "I agree, let's move!" but as he starts to backout Gianbattista yells (in Elvish from the entranceway, you can't actually see him from where you are): "Damn it there's something behind us!". You see Marcus spin around and look. From the entranceway you hear noises that sounds like a conversation between Gianbattista and someone in either Thyatian or Anglais, your not really sure. But suddenly a rope drops down fromt he hole in the roof to your left and you and Marcus both look back at it just in time to see a dark cloaked figure with long white hair descend down the rope. It's that Shadow Elf again! It quickly surveys the situation then draws a Long Sword. You reach for an arrow from your quiver to prepare to attack him back, but he swings through the air and hits one of the lurkers, wounding it.
What do you do?
to Marcus,
Right after saying "I agree, let's move." you start to begin to take a step to back out, but Gianbattista yells from the entranceway (in Elvish): "Damn it there's something behind us!". You spin around to see what it is and see Gianbattista also turning around to face it..... But it's just Brian Kempe. He runs up to Gianbattista ratteling along anxiously in Anglais while pointing up. Gianbattista calms him down saying something in Thyatian, and Brian repeats his message, this time in Thyatian, still pointing at the roof. Right then you hear a noise behind you, and after dodging a flyby from the last lurker, turn to see a rope drop from the hole in the roof. A Dark cloaked figure with long white hair descends down the rope. It's that Shadow Elf again! It quickly surveys the situation, then it draws a Long Sword. You prepare your own Long Sword to meet the threat but it swings through the air and hits one of the lurkers, wounding it.
What do you do/say?
to Kagemaru,
Marcus says (in Elvish in response to Clain) "I agree, let's move." but then you hear Gianbattista yell (in Elvish): "Damn it there's something behind us!". Meanwhile, Sebastien has come over to where you "rolled" and is helping you up. While shaking off the shock of the fall you hear a conversation between Gianbattista and someone else in the entranceway in what seems like either Anglais or Thyatian (your not sure which, and don't much time to figure it out). You see Marcus spin back around, a rope has been dropped from that hole in the roof on the other side of the room. A dark cloaked figure with long white hair quickly descends into the room, draws a Long Sword and swings through the air hitting the lurker that is still flying around the room (wounding it).
Is it just the foggieness from the fall, or is that..... no it is!
IT'S A DAMN SHADOW ELF!!!!!!!!!!!
What do you do/say?
to Gianbattista,
you hear Marcus reply to Clain (in Elvish): "I agree, let's move." as you yell (in Elvish? always remember to say what language you use) "Damn it there's something behind us!". and you spin around to face this incoming creature.....
Relax, it's just Brian Kempe. He comes running in, yelling in Anglais while pointing up (you don't speak Anglais, so you don't know what he's saying): "Gianbattista! Gianbattista! Ham a arouna a indigal on lune!" You quickly try to calm him down with a hand gesture, then tell him (in Thyatian): "In Thyatian Brian! In Thyatian!" He quickly realises what he did and he repeats his message, this time in Thyatian "I think there is someone on the roof!" he says and points up and his eyes sudenly go a little wider as he sees something beyond you. You turn back around and see that a rope is hanging from the other side of the room towards the left edge of your vision, beyond Marcus. A Dark cloaked figure drops down the rope, and quickly surveys the situation. It's some sort of pale skinned elf. He draws a long sword and swings at a lurker, wounding it.
What do you do/say?
Week 65: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1348
to Clain,
Marcus addresses the shadow elf (in Elvish): "Who are you cloaked stranger, and what business do you have here?" But as he's finishing his question your attention is drawn to Kagemaru who has tumbled and retreaved his khopesh from the lurker and is now charging the shadow elf. The shadow elf sees this and after mumbeling (in Alfheim Elvish): "I should of known." it starts casting a spell. You also see the lurker swooping in towards the four of you. Your not exaclty sure which is more of a threat, the mystery elf casting a spell, the lurker swooping in, or this mysterious Kagemaru guy charging in, but you still have your bow in your hand so you reach back for your quiver and draw out an arrow. As your preparing to string it the shadow elf finishes his spell and thrusts his hand out, palm up. As Kagemaru runs past Marcus and is about to strike the shadow elf, A vivid, blinding flash of colors like a rainbow spray upwards from his palm, the colors are so bright and blinding that you have to look away. By the time the light subsides and your able to look back, Kagemaru (and the lurker) are lying on the floor, face down, unmoving. Sebastien is standing in the middle of the room rubbing his eyes. You see the shadow elf finishing climbing up the roof and onto the roof/next floor. He begins to start pulling up the rope.
What do you do/say?
to Marcus,
You ask the shadow elf (in Elvish): "Who are you cloaked stranger, and what business do you have here?" But right as you finish his eye's go wide and he mumbles (in Alfheim Elvish) "I should of known." and he starts casting some spell! You quickly recover your wits about you and prepare to try to strike him before he can complete the probaly dangerous spell, but suddenly Kagemaru comes running past you charging the shadow elf with his khopesh raised high. Unfortunately at the same moment the shadow elf thrusts his hand out, palm up. A vivid, blinding flash of colors like a rainbow sprays upwards from his palm in a fan, so bright that it blinds you! A moment lateryour burned out vision is returning as you try to blink it away, Kagemaru now lies on the floor, face down, unmoving, but the shdaow elf isn't in front of you any more! You look up just in time to see him finish climbing up the rope and disappering through the hole onto the roof/next floor and he beigns to pull the rope up behind him.
What do you do/say?
to Kagemaru,
You start running at the Shadow Elf. It must just be the hatred boiling in your veins but as you tumble to retreive your khopesh from the lurker, you could swear you hear it speak in Alfheim Elvish (your people's native language) "I should of known." You grab the khopesh and ragain your feet, never breaking pace. The Shadow Elf has started casting a spell! With your Khopesh now raised high you charge towards the Shadow Elf. Marcus, upon seeing the Shadow devil casting a spell, prepares to defend himself. You go racing past him, about to smite down the bastard but right then he thrusts his arm & hand out towards you, palm up. Suddenly a blinding rainbow of colors springs up from his hand and everything goes Burning White, and then pitch black.
Wait for my next message..... Let me know when you get back.
to Gianbattista,
Marcus addresses the pale elf asking (in Elvish): "Who are you cloaked stranger, and what business do you have here?" But as he's finishing his question Kagemaru comes running into view, with a tumble he yanks his khopesh out of the lurker and regains his feet, still charging at the mystery elf with his Khopesh now raised high. The Mystery elf sees this, mumbles something (your too far away to hear), and begins casting a spell. Marcus, not having seen Kagemaru charging at the elf sees the elf casting a spell thinks himself under attack (which, for all you know he may be!) and raises his longsword to prepare to defend himself. Just as Kagemaru charges past Marcus and is about to strike the elf, the elf finishes his spell and thrusts his hand out, palm up. A vivid, blinding flash of colors like a rainbow spray upwards from his palm, so bright that you have to look away. A moment later when the light subsides, you look back to see the legs of the elf as he climbs back up the rope and disapears onto the roof, and he starts pulling the rope up behind him. Kagemaru (and another Lurker) is lying on the floor, face down, unmoving. Sebastien is standing in the middle of the room, rubbing his eyes, Marcus is looking at the rope being raised apparently still in shock himself.
What, if anything, do you do/say?
Week 66: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1349
In the Tower
to Clain,
you yell after the shadow elf (in Elvish): "you want a peice of me? Come get some unless u are too chicken"
Then from the entranceway you can now hear Gianbattista yelling (admonishing in Elvish): "What have you done?
Why you have attacked someone that has helped us? After you must explain your behavior." You then hear him say something softer in Thyatian.
As you were turning to face towards the entranceway (you can't actually see Gianbattista from where you are) you see Sebastien kneeling over Kagemaru, apparentsy taking his pulse.
Wait a minute. Where did the mirror come from? you see Marcus looking at his reflextion.
What do you do/say?
to Marcus,
Clain yells after the retreating Shadow Elf (in Elvish): "you want a peice of me? Come get some unless you are
too chicken"
Then from the entranceway you can now hear Gianbattista yelling (admonishing in Elvish): "What have you done?
Why you have attacked someone that has helped us? After you must explain your behavior." You then hear him say something softer in Thyatian.
But you don't really notice what he is doing because your suddenly looking at your reflection between yourself and Sebastien whom is kneeling over Kagemaru's limp form, taking his pulse.

Your still out cold. Wait for my next message.

you now admonish them, yelling (admonishing in Elvish): "What have you done?

You then tell Brian (in Thyatian): "Follow me, dear" and you walk past him to leave.
as your starting to exit, Brian starts stuttering behind you (In Thyatian): "G..G..Gia...G...Gian..G" You turn around to see what it is that has him so flabergasted that he can't even say your name. You turn around and see him pointing back into the room. You look back into the room. Sebastien is kneeling over Kagemaru but that's not what Brian is looking at.
He' looking at the TWO (2) Marcuses standing facing each other........
What do you do/say?
Week 67: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1349
to all,
hello all,
once again I'm afraid other things got in the way of this (hey you try
working from 2000-0300 then again from 0900-1700 and see if you have any
time at home that's not spent sleeping or eating!) But on the other hand
only one of you replied anyhow (altough another had nothing to reply to!).
So, in short here we go again, and yes I will forget one of the times where
no one replied (Whicih still leaves a lot).
The good news though (well bad news for me but good for the game) is that
the rest of my summer classes were cancelled. that also means that this
first series of classes was a complete waste of my time. But what can yo
do?
to Clain,
Your still trying to make sense of what your seeing.... Two Marcus's, one with his back to you, the other on the otherside facing you... You also notice that the lurker that had been knocked out is coming too next to Kagemaru and the other (the wounded one) is trying to crawl to the side away from you. Sebastien starts to look up from taking Kagemarus pulse while saying (In Belcadiz Elvish) "He's out col..." then he says under his breath "Caramba"... apparently he sees the two marcuses also.
What do you do/say?
to Marcus,
Your still not sure what to think but you suddenly realise that you don't have your sword but your reflection does! You feel naked without it. Out of the corner of your eye you see the lurker is starting to come too and Sebastien starts to look up from taking Kagemaru's pulse while saying (In Belcadiz Elvish) "He's out col..." then he says under his breath "Caramba"... apparently he sees your double too...
What do you do/say?
to Marcus,
Your still not sure what to think but you suddenly start to realise that you don't have your shield but your double doesn't have a sword... Out of the corner of your eye you see the lurker is starting to come too and you hear Sebastien say from behind you (in Belcadiz Elvish) "He's out col..." then under his breath "Caramba"... apparently he sees your double too...
What do you do/say?
to Kagemaru,
Your still out cold. Wait for my next message.
to Gianbattista,
you said:
Giambattista tries to be not too scared and in order to resist so thinks
about something else and so mumbles in thyatian to Brian "Oh! how what was
better to stay in a soft room writing about heroes, instead of staying among
them...don't be afraid Brian, at least for now...one problem at once, first
I want to know more about that mysterious elf" and catching Brian for a
sleeve he brings out him in search of the elf.
Dragging him back outside into the bright sunlight you start scanning the 'roof' for the elf. "Do you see him?" you ask Brian in Thyatian. He sakes his head no in response then finally says back "Are you sure we should be looking for him?"
You know he has to come down sometime, but it has only been a little bit yet.
What do you do/say?
Week 68: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1350
to all,
hello all,
Well we rebound nicely from having only one reply to having everyone reply
early. Alright! maybe we can keep this good pace going eh? and actually
get this game moving (do you realise that we have been playing for almost 2
years realtime and are only on our third day of game time?).
well here we go, once again everyone is getting different messages again,
enjoy and congrats.
to Clain,
well you weren't too specific so I hope I guessed alright on what you
wanted to do.
Your still trying to make sense of what your seeing.... Two Marcus's, one with his back to you, the other on the otherside facing you... You also notice that the lurker that had been knocked out is coming too next to Kagemaru and the other (the wounded one) is trying to crawl to the side away from you. Sebastien has just seen the two Marcuses and is stunned.
You grab the Marcus with his back to you by his shoulder and spin him around forcebly to face you. You get right in his face and yell (in Wendarian Elvish) "and WHO are YOU?!"
he stammers back (also in Wendarian Elvish): "Clain, its me... Marcus...." The other Marcus behind this Marcus seems shocked by that statment. You also notice that the Marcus you are holding is unarmed.
What do you do/say?
to Marcus,
You shake your head hoping to clear this illusion or whatever from your site, but to no avail. You quickly check yourself and realise that you have your clothes (of course), your shield, and your sack with what feels like your spellbook stuffed in it (You still have one burning hands memorized), but you have no other equipment, including no weapon.
Suddenly a hand clamps down on your left shoulder and forcebly spins you around. It's Clain. He gets right in your face and yells (In Wendarian Elvish): "and WHO are YOU?!"
barely thinking you stammer back (also in Wendarian Elvish): "Clain, its me... Marcus....". You see his eyes look behind you then back at you, angrily.
What do you do/say?
to Marcus,
You shake your head hoping to clear this illusion or whatever from your site, but to no avail. You quickly check yourself and realise that you have your clothes (of course), Long Sword, your Backpack on your back still feels full, & your scroll case.
You see Clain grab your double by the shoulder and spin him around. He gets up in his face and yells (in Wendarian Elvish): "and WHO are YOU?!"
You hear your double stammer back (also in Wendarian Elvish): "Clain, its me... Marcus....". Your incredulous upon hearing this, he's claiming to be you!
What do you do/say?
to Kagemaru,
Your still out cold. You can see how slow this is going, there only now at
1350 hours! Wait for my next message. Sorry.
to Gianbattista,
you forgot to say what language but I could figure out that you meant
Thyatian.
Yes, It's a nearly vertical wall.
You tell Brian (in Thyatian): "Stay here and watch for the coming of that guy...when he will arrive yells to me and I'll arrive in few seconds" and you start to walk back to the door, but just as your reaching for the door Brian in a kinda Whisper-yell over to you (in Thyatian): "There!" you quickly backstep to where Brian is and look where he is pointing. After a moment, sure enough, you see the top of a head bob up. He's heading to the East Side of the tower!
What do you do/say?
Week 69: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1350
hello all,
Why does it always go that way? When ever we have a really good week it is
followed by a bad week? Last week EVERYONE replied within 24 HOURS!
That's phenominal! But this week, despite a reminder, only 1 person
replied.
Once again Kagemaru your still unconcious.
The rest of you, watch for my next message.
to Marcus & Clain,
As your still pondering over this.... predicament.... Sebastien shakes off his confusion and yells (in Elvish): "Lets deal with one problem at a time" as he takes his staff and stabs back down the lurker as it was just taking off, pinning it back down to the ground with the butt of his staff. "Where's the other one?" he asks while holding the first down.
You quickly look around and spot it, its climbing up the far wall, leaving a trail of its blood (Remeber, that's the one that Kagemaru badly wounded).
What do you do/say?
to Gianbattista,
you yell out (in Elvish): "stop your run! I don't want to hurt you! Just only to talk with you!"
At first nothing.... But then you catch just a glimpse of sunlight reflected from the tip of his sword. He's crawled right up to the edge closest to you and is just out of sight on the roof.
You continue "Who are you mysteriuos guy? why did you help us?"
He suddenly jumps up and flicks his hand in your direction and then he yells down at you (in Erewan Elvish): "Your with them!". You also notice your eyelids getting really heavy, and suddenly Brian slumps down to the ground next you. You suddenly realise (too late) that that hand flick must of been the last part of a spe...zzzzzzzzz
Your asleep. Wait for my next message.
Week 70: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1351
hello all,
hmmm...... I even sent out a reminder and...... yup.... nothing! I,m now
going to have to force the action a little.
to Marcus & Clain,
your still confused by the 'doubles' of Marcus. Sebastien's pinned the one lurker down to the ground with his staff and its now squirming tyring to get up. Sebastien again asks you (in Elvish) "Where's the other one?"
The other Lurker is still trying to climb its way up the far wall. Clain, you suddenly realise that it's the same size, height, and distance as one of those practice archery targets. You pull out an sheaf arrow, notch it, and let it go. You hit your hit your target, dead center 9(4), and the lurker falls off the wall to the ground, dead. You tell Sebastien (in Elvish): "It's not a threat anymore."
Sebastien, while holding the lurker down, replies "Well then find the ring and lets get out of here! Windsor said his wizard said it was in that pile of refuse."
What do you do/say?
to Gianbattista,
zzzzzzzzz
Your asleep. Wait for my next message.
to Kagemaru,
Your still out. Having dreams of fighting Shadow Elves :).

sent to Kagemaru only, a few days before The others deadline.
Your still asleep. And still dreaming of fighting Shadow Elves.
In fact your fighting several of them, at least a platoon worth, as they're
coming charging out of a forest to the plains where you are. They're
charging in small groups of 4 or 5 at a time. Here comes another group.
You have time to briefly look around, you have a chance to see Clain &
Marcus also engaged in the combat along with you and several others.
Sebastien is helping the wounded back behind the combat and Gianbattista is
off to the side alternating between scribbling down notes about the battle
and defending himself. No more time to notice your compatriots, here they
come. One comes straight at you. After a few thrusts and parries you fell
him, acknowledging briefly that he had a small little bit of talent. You
look up to notice another one running towards you. He is apparently
unarmed, but you don't have time to chance it and your heft your sword. He
makes it too easy as he seems to try to run around you. You easily cut him
down with one swoop and he falls at your side. Suddenly a woman shrieks!
You look back at the edge of the forest from where the cry came from,
wondering what attrocity the shadow Elves have just committed. There is an
old elven (not shadow elven, just elven) woman who starts running towards
you all while looking at the one you just felled. She has tears streaming
down her face as she continues to run towards you, running faster than you
have ever seen an old woman run, but it still seems to take an eternity for
her to reach you, all the while your heart is breaking at every tear she
sheds, although you are not sure why she is shedding them. When she finally
reaches you, she collapses to her knees at your side and lifts the head of
that shadow elf you just slew and she begins cradeling its body in her arms.
She looks up at you, her eyes still filled with tears and she shrieks at you
and yells angrily before turning back to the dead shadow elf in her arms.
You look too at your enemy you have just slain and its now a young shadow
elf girl, but it is a shadow elf. The woman again looks up at you, her eyes
overflowing with tears but you can see both grief and rage beneath those
watery tears, it makes no sense. She wails at you 'why?' and then sobs and
then again yells at you with great anger and she reaches up and slaps you,
hard, in the cheek.
Suddenly its not an elf woman reaching up, and your not standing but are
laying on your back on the floor, back in the tower. Sebastien is gently
slapping your face and jaw which he has between his fingers and thumb and is
gently slapping you to wake you up and revive you. When he sees your eyes
open he pulls his hand back and you hear him ask something but your still
half in the dream so his words are all garbled and not paced right nor in
the right tone. As your eyes open you see not only is Sebastien leaning
over you but Clain and Marcus are standing above you. But your visions
still messed up as your seeing double of everyone. You blink your eyes and
shake you head and it clears up... or no, wait.. it mostly clears up, your
still seeing double of Marcus, but then Sebastien asks again (in Elvish)
"Are you alright?" as he's looking into your eyes for signs of a concusion.
What do you do/say?
He replied:
I become delirious, I draw my khopesh and swing it wildly in the air. I then say in my
elvish tongue. "Where's that Shadow Elf girl?! She must die like the rest of her pathetic race!
She must die. All Shadow Elves must DIE!!!"
to Gianbattista:
your still asleep. Wait for my next message.
main-
just to warn you... this one might get a little discusting.
to Clain & Marcus,
The two Marcuses both start to move towards the refuse pile near the doorway but sees each other doing so. They both stop and motion for the other to proceed. This could get comical. Finally one of them just harrumps and then proceeds to the pile. He rolls up his sleeve and kneels down with his hand over the pile as he hesitates, realising what he just volunteered for. Finally he just plunes his hand in. You can see him wincing as he feels through the pile and the droppings get squoshed through his fingers. He also stirrs up a horrible stench that begins to permeate the room and you can even hear an occasional sound of the squooshing. You try not to think about and try not to take a deep breath and are just glad its not you. Meanwhile Sebastien motions for Clain to come over to him. He tells Clain to take his staff, which he is using to hold down the last lurker, so he can go revive Kagemaru. Clain takes the staff and as Sebastien turns his back and walkes away Clain looks down at the squirming lurker and thinks 'why bother?' He quickly raises the staff and slams it back down on the lurker, finishing it off. Sebastien turns back at the sound and then he sarcastically says (in Elvish): "Great!" Then he points at Clain and says "Your cleaning up my staff!" he then turns back and kneels over Kagemaru. Clain (and the other Marcus) both look down and sure enough, the bottom of the staff is now covered in blood and lurker inards. Clain shrugs and taps the staff on the floor to get the larger pieces off. The other Marcus finally stands up and says simply (in Elvish): "Yuck" but he has two things from the pile (albeit discolored). It appears to be a ring and a sack. Meanwhile Sebastien has taken Kagemarus jaw and cheeks between his fingers and thumb and gently slaps him to revive him. When his eyes open you all crowd around to see if he is alright as Sebastien asks (in Elvish): "Are you alright?". He blinks his eyes and shakes his head. Sebastien asks again "Are you alright?" as he looks into Kacemaru's eyes for signs of a concusion.
He suddenly reaches up for his Khopeh above him on the floor and starts flailling it wildly into the air and all around. Sebastien just bearly dodges out of the way and scrambles backwards frightfully as everyone else steps back.
Kagemaru starts yelling (in Alfheim Elvish): "Where's that Shadow Elf girl?! She must die like the rest of her pathetic race! She must die. All Shadow Elves must DIE!!!"
Quick, what do you do?
to Kagemaru,
I'm just doing as you wanted. You don't really have to do anything mor
ethis time unless you wanted to.
You reach up above you on the floor and grab your khopesh and start wildly flailing it into the air. Sebastien just barely manages to fall back out ofg the way and he half stumbles, half crawls backwards away. The others step back from you also. You start yelling out (in Alfheim Elvish): "Where's that Shadow Elf girl?! She must die like the rest of her pathetic race! She must die. All Shadow Elves must DIE!!!"
You also notice a putrid stench in the room. Is that the smell of the dead bodies from the dream you ask yourself?
Week 72: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1353
To Gianbattista,
still asleep
to Kagemaru,
You hear Marcus say (in Elvish, although it doesn't seem to be coming from Marcus as his lips aren't moving) "Calm down, all the badies are gone for now."
Your mind continues to race. Who was that Shadow Elf girl you slew? Was it even real? Why was that Old Alfheim Elf Woman Grieving so over a dead Shadow elf, true it was a mere child, but still?
What do you do/say?
To Marcus(es) & Clain,
This one is primarily waiting for Ryan to reply but you can do something
elso if you want.
The Marcus with the sack and ring says (in Elvish, towards Kagemaru) "Calm down, all the badies are gone for now".
Ryan replied:
Still in shock, I reply in my Nipponarean tongue (by mistake. note: It's more natural for me to
speak this tongue since I've been out of practice in my "Native" tongue for so long.). "Nanda?!
Alfheim no onna wa doko ni irun no ka?!" I look around still confused and realize I spoke in a
language no one understands. I calm down and then say in my elvish dialect "Where is that
Alfheim woman? Where did she go? And why was she holding that Shadow Elf girl?!!!"
I stand up and sheath my weapon and take a look around the long since quiet battle scene. I
whisper to myself in Nipponarean. "... doko ni irun no ka, onna?"
so part 2:
Kagemaru shouts out (in what you can only guess is Nipponerian): "Nanda?!
Alfheim no onna wa doko ni irun no ka?!" He looks around still confused, and then frustrated as he seems to realise that no one understands what he just said so then he demands (in Elvish): "Where is that
Alfheim woman? Where did she go? And why was she holding that Shadow Elf girl?!!!"
Everyone looks at each other, and the confusion is apparent on their faces. Alfheim woman? Shadow Elf Girl? What's he talking about?
Kagemaru stands up and looks around but he looks around as if the walls of the tower aren't blocking his vision, like he's looking around and towards the horizon like he's someplace else, someplace outside. He whispers softly to himself "... doko ni irun no ka, onna?"
What do you do/say?
to Kagemaru,
after you stand up, and whisper (in Nipponerian): "Where are you woman?" you look around the plain of the battlefiled, but that image is faded away and replaced by the reality of the tower. In the tower room with you is Marcus, Sebastien, Clain, Marcus, a Dead Lurker, a few dead baby lurkers, various debris, and a putrid stench throught the room. All 4 of your companions are looking at you with a mixture of confusion, fear, concern, and a bit of 'he's gone crazy'. At least the Shadow Elves are gone, both from the battle (if that really happened) and the one that you had been charging here in the tower.
What do you do/say?
Week 73: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1354
To all,
Ok, sorry for the various spelling errors in ths one. Everyone is getting
differnt this time.
To Gianbattista,
still asleep
to Kagemaru,
I just now realised that you did what you did. You just said that you
explain to them your dream. If your going to explain your dream to them
(Which is fine to do, in fact I was hopeing you would) I want it in your
words. If I had wanted them to view it exactly I would of just cc'ed them
the message. Just like you also said that you want to explain to them your
hatred for shadow elves. I would of much prefered if you had done that in
your own words. I'm not as good at making up that stuff as Marco is, but
I'll let it slide this time and I'll just try to make something up. note
that if it was an NPC you were dealing with, that would of been fine, but
these are other PCs so I want you to learn about each other from each other
(although you can read a lot about each other on the webpage).
your attention turns to Marcus as he asks, "What sort of magic has been cast on you?!". You then hear Marcus from behind you ask "and who is this Alfheim girl you speak of??"
You look around the room at Marcus, Sebastien, Marcus (?), Clain, and then back to Marcus and you say (in Elvish): "apologies my companions, but I had a rather unusual and vivid 'haluccination' or more like a vision, just now. I was, no, WE were in a great glourios battle with the shadow elves. They kept charging at us in small groups out of the woods and we were holding our own against wave after wave. And might I say, I was making good progress towards my retribution on the shadow elves for killing my family and ruining my homeland, as I slew many of them in that battle. But I will never rest until I kill every Shadow Elf, or I'm cut down by one. Anyway, in my dream they kept coming and we kept cutting them down. Suddenly, after cutting down one just like the rest I heard the shriek of a woman, but when I looked to the source of the cry, there was an old Alfheim Elven woman but no one was around her. She was looking my direction. She ran to me, crying all during her run. When she reached me though she fell to her knees and cradled the body of the Shadow Elf I had just slew. She looked up at me, her eyes overflowing with tears of grief and just shrieked at me and began yelling AT me, all while cradeling the head of the body of the shadow elf soldier, only it wasn't a soldier anymore.... It was some young shadow elf brat girl. The woman, totally berieved, reached up and slapped me, and then I was back here, in the tower."
As you've been explaining your story, your fogginess has worn off and you've realised something quite ery about your companions. Sebastien is to your left. Clain is to your right. But Marcus, Marcus is somehow both in front and behind you! you didn't catch it earlier becaues you were seeing two of everything but now your still seeing 2 Marcuses!
Is one an imposter? if so which one? And is it hostile? or could it even be that shadow elf somehow disguised. You also notice that Gianbattista is not present, what happened to the scribe? even more disturbing is how Sebastien and Clain don't seem to be noticing, or at least not reacting to the 2 Marcuses.
Clain then says (in Elvish) "ok, NOW can we leave? This place reeks" Crinckling his nose.
What do you do/say?
To Marcus(es),
one of the Marcus's asks Kagemaru (in Elvish), "What sort of magic has been cast on you?!".
And the other Marcus seems to complete the question "and who is this Alfheim girl you speak of??"
Kagemaru looks around the room, he seems to be slightly embaresed, and then says (in Elvish): "apologies my companions, but I had a rather unusual and vivid 'haluccination' or more like a vision, just now. I was, no, WE were in a great glorios battle with the shadow elves. It was some young shadow elf brat girl. The woman, totally berieved, reached up and slapped me, and then I was back here, in the tower."
As he's been explaining his 'dream hallucination' he has noticed the two of you Marcus and is seeming to become very tense.
Clain then says (in Elvish) "ok, NOW can we leave? This place reeks" Crinckling his nose.
What do you do/say?
To Clain,
James was offline during this post, but he recieved a copy of Marcuses
post.
Marcus says:
"I agree let's get out of here before anything else happens!"
Week 74: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1356
To all,
One of the Marcuses says (in Elvish):
"I agree let's get out of here before anything else happens!"
Kagemaru looks around and hits his head, apparently trying to clear the "double-vision" of
Marcus. He then just shakes his head an then gives up, shruging his shoulders.
Kagemaru then says (in elvish): "I concur, let's get the !^*# out of here."
So all five of you file out of the tower back outside, stepping over the lurkers.
Once outside in the sun again, you notice the limp forms of Gianbattista and Brian Kempe lying to your left. You quickly rush over to them and Sebastien begins cecking them out.
Clain asks (in Elvish): "Are they alright"
Sebastien replies (in Elvish): "They seem to be just.... asleep."
Clain then says (in Elvish): "So... WAKE THEM!"
Sebastien (in Elvish): "Oh, right." He pauses for a moment then tries loudly clapping his hands together near them. No effect. He tries grabing Brians shoulder and rocking him. Nothing.
Clain, obviously getting impatient, reaches down and lifts Gianbattista up everso slightly then dropping him back down, while yelling "get up." That does the trick.
As Sebastien wakes up Brian, Gianbattista says (is Elvish:) "I'm alright, thanks for the help." As he stands up and tries
to clear his clothes from the dust fastly moving his hands over them.
Brian's now up and Gianbattista says in Elvish: "I tried to
follow and stop and talk with that figure who helped us against those flying
monsters...but he cast something on me and I bagan to sleep. You surely know
him. Who's he? Why did you try to attack him? Is he an enemy of yours? What
did he do? For what I've seen he helped us..." after a while watching
astonished the TWO Marcus and pointing them he says "This is the first
trouble, the second is: Who are you? Is only one Marcus and the other an
impostor or a 'doppleganger'? or are you both Marcus? I'm waiting for
answers for every questions I have..." and of course he turns back searching
Brian and when he finds him kindly says to him: "You were brave, dear. I'll
remember this and surely I'm going to tell about you to Lord Windsor
himself..." and searching in his sack he gives Brian some of his coins.
How do you respond to Gianbattista?
Week 75: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1357
First off we had really good replies this week so I am giving all the
player controlled characters 2xps. I also messed up last time and allowed
Gianbattista to address Brian in Elivish but Brian does'n understand
elvish, so just lets pretend he had switched to Thyatian ok
Kagemaru quickly run by the side of Gianbisatta. He whispers into his ear (in
elvish, its just barely loud enough that you can make it out what he's asking) "You see two of them also? For a brief moment, I thought I
was still suffering from my injuries and seeing double!"
He continues saying "I have been away from my old teacher for so long,
I don't know how to test which is the REAL one."
He then looks back at the Marcuses and rubs his eyes, still dumbfounded by what he sees.
In reply to this the Marcus on the right says (in Elvish): "We are just as confused as you are."
and the Marcus on the left says (in Elvish): "As far as I, er.., WE, Know no one is an imposter."
The Right Marcus looks briefly at the left marcus then back towards everyone else and shrugs. The left Marcus looks briefly at the right Marcus then back at everyone else and shrugs.
Gianbattista adds (in Elvish): "Well we got another problem then... We only brought 6.." He interupts and turns and asks Brian something in Thyatian, Brian replies in Thyatian with one word, then he returns to Elvish "yes 6 horses, and there are now 7 of us. What should we do? The walk back to Vyonnes, while definately not impossible, is long."
What do you say/do? What do you want to do?
Week 76: Lunadain, Yarthmont 1st, AC1011, 1820
Kagemaru says (in Elvish): "I'm not the leader so my opinion would not hold
much merit, although I see no 'real harm' as of yet. I say we travel
with seven. Though it it not only my decision."
Gianbattista says (in Elvish): "Maybe one of the Marcuses could ride with the young Brian. The horse might be enough strong to suffer the weight of 2 slim guys..."
"but first, what about what we came for? Did you find the ring?"
One of the Marcuses steps up and says (in Elvish): " ah yes.. is this it" he hands the ring to Gianbattista "we found it along with this purse" holding up the small purse and making it jingle.
Gianbattista takes the ring then quickly wrinkles his nose, it smells terrible and is covered in waste. He walks over to the stream and quikly begins washing it off. That Marcus gets the same idea and takes the purse over to wash it also to try to remove the waste and associated stench.
Gianbattista, having clensed the ring holds it up and looks at it, he turns to Brian and asks him somethign in Thyatian as he hands it to him. Brian looks it over then sheakes his head in a 'yes' motion, with a broad smile on his face.
Gianbattista turns back to the group and says (in Elvish) "Yes, this is it, fantastic job adventurers. We now just need to return this to Lord Windsor."
Now the Marcus has finished with the purse and you can see its not brown but is actually a leather died purple. When he opens it, he finds 30 Gold Ducats and 28 Silver Soverigns. (OOC: When you reply to this weeks, please tell me what you want to do with them, how to divide them, do you create a group treasury, etc.)
So we set out, with Brian doubling up with one of the Marcuses, and it does slow the horses down, were movng at about half the rate we were on the way here, in otherwords, about the same as if we were to walk on foot, but we have the horses anyway so we ride.
While Brian goes into the ruins of the stable to retreave the horses, Gianbattista recloses the door to the tower as the others are counting the find from the purse.
Brian gets all the horses ready and we all mount up and leave the shelf and its ruined tower behind and descend into the farming hamlets. As were zigzagging down the path Brian is talking with the farmers in Anglais, and he apparently tells them that the monster of the tower is defeated. Some young kids run ahead and alert the others, so that by the time we are towards the end of the huts the farmers are standing by the side of the road, applauding and yelling out what you presume are word of congratulations. Kagemaru asks (through Gianbattista and Brian) about the shadow elf, The reply comes back thoruhg that the farmers don't know anything about any 'shadow-elf' (although they now seem worried) but that a cloaked stranger did hurry back down on this very pass about 10 minutes ago. Kagemaru looks out to the horizon, almost as hes looking for his advesary, but of course, hes long gone. A few minutes later were back out on the trail thorugh the hills, away from the fields. About an hour and a half later were at that hill that the path takes a turn around and we start heading south.
The going is really slow and the sun is already setting. Gianbattista says that we still have about 10 hours of travel left at this rate and we should camp. We've been hearing the sounds of wolves in the distance a couple of times in the last hour but other than that it has been an uneventful trip. Were still in an area of rolling hills and brian says it will be another 5 or 6 hours till were even out of those.
What do you want to do?
Week 77: Yarthmont 1st-2nd
About the coins Giambattista says to the others (in Elvish): "I think it's
better you divide them between us, as I effectively didn't anything more
than to ride with you since very soon that mysterious figure casted that
spell on me. I think however than you can handle a couple of coins to young
Brian...even if he's still a mere child he bravely risked his life...I think
he must be rewarded"
After when the sun is going down Giambattista suggests (Elvish): "I think
it's time to rest. Tomorrow we'll arrive to Vyonnes and we'll met Lord
Windsor. But those wolves made me a little worried...maybe must we make some
watch turns?"
Well, once again this is late, but only about an hour! Forgive me?
Although, I had hoped more of you would of replied. I still need to know
what to do with coins?
I'm working on character updates for everyone and will have them soon.
Since only Marco replied, I guess that means you'll be using his advice.
you plan out three shifts. Kagemaru volunteers for the first (Wizards should be on either the first or last if any shifts at all as they need an uninterupted block of sleep to relearn spells.). Gianbattista then also agrees to be on the first. Clain and one or both of the Marcuses will be on the last. Brian and Sebastien will be on the middle shift (they both speak Thyatian and the only ones Brian can talk with are Gianbattista & Sebastien, and since Gianbattista is already on the first, him and Sebastien get stuck with the middle one.).
From here on each of you will get seperate messages.
OLYMPICS START TODAY!
to Kagemaru & Gianbattista:
Gianbattista & Kagemaru:
As the others go off to sleep you and Gianbattista are left to guard against the night. You allow the fire to die down to embers, and keep it at that level. Your kept on edge all night by the eery howling of wolves in the distance, thinking about what might be out there. Are the howls getting closer? It certaintly sounds like they are. What was that? sounded like a twig breaking? you look and listen (Kagemaru with Infravision, Gianbattista with normal sight, both with ears). Nothing. Just darkness and silence, not even the sounds of an insect, just the eary silence. Your both on guard preparing for an attack you acn't see..... Suddenly you both jump at the sound of another howl, several miles away. your too on edge. Your both too on edge. The wolf pack keeps you wide awake the whole shift with their ocasional baying. About 2 hours into the shift, Gianbattisat finally trys to break the silence and tension, by asking something thats been on his mind for a while now. He whispers, in Elvish:
"Dear Kagemaru, I chose to ask this to you for you are, with Sebastian the
most trustful guy in this group. Well, Clain tried to kill me, so I cannaot
trust him, and I think the two Marcuses" looking over at their sleeping forms "have now more pressing problems to
solve. I want to know why you and the others attacked that guy that helped
us against those monsters. I'm almost sure you've already met him before.
What are the problems with this guy? Who's he? Why he helped us? Give
answers, please..."
Kagemaru replies (in Elvish): "There is a saying back in Nipponeria... A friend can become an
enemy, and an enemy can be made into a friend. One only knows how
karma will treat us on this quest of ours my friend. But let me ask
you a question that is off the subject. Why do you think I'm on this
quest?"
Giambattista replies, his voice soft and suadent: "I must humbly admit I
know very little about you and your friends. Here in Glantri a common man
like me, not able in the magical arts, only know by name those distant land
with exotic names: Wendar, Norwold...Nipponeria...I don't know why you and
your friends Clain and the Marcuses had come here in Glantri, and I don't
know what is your final direction and your goal...until few seconds back I
haven't even known that your friends are on a quest...could you be so gentle
to tell me what is this quest? Only after knowing so I could answer to your
question..."
Kagemaru:
I reply in elvish. "I only know of one quest, friend, mine. Of
which I will tell you when my quest is done." I then pick up a stick
and play around with the last embers of the fire and go into a state
of melencholy. I look up in the sky and see my family in the stars
and tears come to my eyes.
Gianbattista slowly walks near to Kagemaru then, he watching the stars too,
he says: "I've realized your heart is full of pain and rage, brave elven
warrior. My heart and my soul are full of melancholy too. I saw my homeland
fully destryed by a meteor and my parents died during that terrible strike.
And just last year I watched my uncle Bernardo Saverio degli Olivieri, one
of the best man that had ever walked on Mystara, dying, abandoned and
forgotten by everyone, with only me sitted near is bed, without no arts to
aid him...I understand your pain, Kagemaru..."
Kagemaru:
I reply in elvish after a brief pause, "... Thank you my friend,
Thank you."
Clain and the Marcuses:
First off do both of the Marcuses on this shift or just one? I'm going to
go ahead and send the character updates for the Marcuses as you'll need it.
Its a quiet shift, in the chill early morning air. You both jumped to your feet once, when a lone wolf howled mournfully, but nothing came of it. Its now getting light. While Clain rouses everybody, What would Marcus like to do in the awy of spells?
Week 78: Gromdain, Yarthmont 2nd, AC 1011, 1720
Kagemaru gets a 50xp role playing bonus (split amongst the two classes
25/25)
Gianbattista gets a 50xp role-playing bonus
Sebastien checks up on Kagemaru's injuries. Kagemaru is now fully healed, Sebastin gains 20xp towards his healer class. He can treat 6 more today.
Sebastien wanders off while every one is getting about, claiming to go looking for herbs but really to go meditate for spells. He asks for 2 Magical Stones and 1 Cure Light Wounds but instead receives 1 Magic Stone and 2 Cure Light Wounds.
Both the Marcuses still have a burning hands memorized but can learn more. The one with the long sword, while checking his equipment before riding out, notices that the blade is badly nicked and gouged (probaly from when he hit the stone wall, or was that the other Marcus that did that?) and it needs to be repaired as soon as possible. It's just not right for a bladesinger to go around with his main weapon in such a poor state!
Kagemaru, I didn't ask you, did you want to change any of your spells?
(you would disipate it at the end of your shift before going to sleep then
memorize the replacments in the morning.
You set out at 0627. We stop for lunch right as were climbing down from the hills to the valley plain. Shortly after resuming the trail, the faintist sliver of a moon rises.
We arrive back in Vyonnes a little after 1700. Brian and Gianbattista immediately lead us through town to Lord Windsor's gated estate. The guards recognize Brian and Gianbattista and open the gate upon our approach. Apparently at least a few of the guards notice 'the twins' as you can hear a few murmers as you pass. Two young stable hands come up to us in the courtyard and Brian joins them taking our horses. Brian and the other stable hands go off towards the stable with the horses, discusing something serious with them (in Aglais), as Gianbattista leads us on inside. We go and wait in an Antechamber as a butler proceds to the dinning hall to announce us. After a few minutes the butler comes back and indicats that we can enter, so we pass through the door.
There are two pikmen standing silently at guard at the door, with one more at each of the other two doors. Maids are busy clearing the table after a meal. Lord Windsor sits at the far end of the table, holding the hand of a woman who is cradeling a baby in the other. the woman, while certaintly not ugly, is more... common or ordinary would be a better word. definately not unatractive but not stunning, more comely. They are talking softly in Anglais. There is also an intimidating looking, dark-skinned woman by one of the other doors, eying you suspiciously. She has a long scar down her face, looks like what ever caused it nearly took out her eye.
Lord Windsor and the woman with the baby notice you, Lord Windsor stands up and holds up his free hand part in acknowledgment/hello and part as an "just a minute" order. He leans over the baby in the woman's arms, obviously kissing it's forehead. He then sits back down and finishes his quiet conversation with the woman, bringing her hand up to his mouth for a kiss. Then that woman joins the one by the door and they both exit the room. He then motions us to approach the table.
(in Elvish): "Gianbattista... My elven friends... how did it go, sucesful I hope?"
Gianbatista then smiles and begins (in Elvish): "Yes my liege, these ones were sucesful despite some... surprises." lord Windsor is smiling gleefully but his eye archs upon the word 'surprises'. Gianbattista then procedes to describe, with some embelishment, and with an ever growing smile of approval from Lord Windsor (enjoying as much the sucess as the telling of the success), how you surprised and over came the lurker, which was right where it was suposed to be. And then how they saved Gianbattistas life from the baby lurkers, and how the group quickly reacted to sucesfully overcome them. He skims largely oer the sudden appearence of the pale elf and his just as sudden disapearence in a flash of light. He then points out the third surprise, which by now even Lord Windsor has noticed the two Marcuses before him, and how they appeared after the flash and how they know not either what could of caused it but perhaps some sort of magic. His tale is also full of praise for Brian and he completely leaves out the attack by Clain upon his life.
Upon Gianbattista's conclusion the maids have since finished the table (although you noticed they had slowed down their pace to also listen to the tale of Adventure, they are possibly still listening behind the door to the kitchen.) and Lord Windsor, after finaly realising his manners and inviting them to sit (it wasn't so much rudness as he had just gotten too caught-up in Gianbattistas tale to notice.). He starts in Elvish "Well first my warmest congradulations and thanks hero's, but now this pickle you are in, I feel somewhat responsible as you were working for me at the time." He turns to the guard at the kitchen door "Guard! summon Felice." then while turning back towards you "Perhaps she will have some insight into this problem." then aside to Gianbattista with humor "I had to practically drag her here to get her out of the city, as it is she brought half her lab!, had to send the Carriage twice to port it all!"
The guard at the kitchen door seems momentarily flustered, then he snaps to and walks out the dinning room throught the main door you entered, pausing breifly to whisper to the gurad on the right of the door. That guard whispers something back and the first one nods his head slowly once then exits. The other guard seems to be fighting back a smile.
Windsor then proceds (after Gianbattista and him share a smirk over the joke) "now... And what of the ring?" Gianbattista takes it and hands it to Windsor, who now has another large smile on his face. He holds it closer to the candle on the table, to get a better look. As he examins it his smile grows even larger. "hmm.. humm. umhum.. YES! this is it!" then closes it in his hand and holds it tight, his eyes closed "This is the first step to restoring the family. This is it. My father and my family will not be forgoten! will not fade away! I doubt I can tell you how much this means." One of you, not sure which of you, clears his throat. This snaps Windsor out of it, and he says "Ah but of course, I'm sure such tales of history, bad decisions, and unjust circumstances, is not what interests such great adventurers of yourselves. We said half a crown each did we not? Well you certaintly performed better than I expected, and the task was apparently more difficult than I had thought, and you handled it wonderfully and even saved Gianbattistas life. I think Half a Crown each will not do." he turns to the other guard and orders him in Anglais, the guard leaves and Windsor goes back to examining his fathers lost ring. The guard quickly returns, carrying a heavy purse, which he brings to Windsor, then returns to his position. Lord Windsor then procedes to give each of you a heavy platinum coin, about 2 inches across, that is faintly glowing with a barely noticable silvery light. They're Glantrian Crowns, worth about 50gp each and rumored to be slightly magical somehow. Just as he finishes passing out the coins and sits down, as were looking over our reward, the other guard returns along with a human woman, somewhat pale-skinned, mid-twenties, skinny, her long black hair a frazzled, tangled mess going in all directions. She doesn't look one bit happy about being here.
Windsor then address the woman "Ah, Felice, thank you for Finally joining us in the dinning hall, You missed supper again you know?" She just now seems to of realised that, although she doesn't seem shocked or concerned. He continues, after smiling at her reaction "I know your not pleased to be here, but I have a magical puzzle I was hoping you might be of some help on" That 'Magical Puzzle' bit seems to have gotten her attention. "Do you know magic for making duplicates of someone?"
She replies (in Elvish, with a moderate Anglais accent): "I personaly do not have such magic, but yes I know of several such types of magic, can you be more specific?"
Lord Windsor smiles and motions to the Marcuses, who then turn around to face the woman. She seems unamused "Probaly some sort of..." but then stops as she gets a chance to watch the two Marcuses "ah, but wait, your moving independently of each other.... "so it's not a mere Mirror Image,..." she begins studying you "hmm...They seem unconcerned althoug aware of each other.... my my" coming closer to for a better look. The way she's talking ABOUT you rather than TO you is a bit unnerving, as is the way she comes over and observes you, grabing one of you by the chin, then touching the others shoulder. The two Marcuses look at each other, obviously uncomfortable with this. Windsor, upon seeing this, says "Felice, they're not guinea pigs from your lab, they're guests." THe woman, upon realising what she's just been doing, quickly pulls her hand back and begins to flush from embarresment, in fact her entire pale white face is turning a deep red and she replies "Oh I'm sorry, but this is very interesting indeed... let me go check something..." as she starts to leave "... I'll be rigt back" and she hurriedly leaves the room.
Windsor continues "Sorry about that Marcus, umm.. and Marcus. But I think we've piqued her interest. She'll help you if she can, if you want?...." readressing the whole group "I am very grateful to you all, is there anything else I can do for you?"
after pondering for a moment, one of the Marcuses chims in "Actually yes... my blade was damaged during the fight, could you perhaps recomend a smith here in Vyonnes?"
Lord Windsor seems flustered by this "I'm afraid I know not of a..." Just then one of the guard's by the main door takes a step forward and clicks his shoes in a salute slash attention grabber and says to Lord Windsor(in Elvish): "If I may?". Windsor replies "Yes Lt. Hoyt, what is it? speak freely."
He bobs his head to Windsor then turns to speak to Marcus "This very morning a new tradesman's wagon rolled into town, she claims to be a swordsmith and she only does long swords. She was setting up on the south side of town and should be open by tomorrow morning, but I know not how long she will be in town." he then returns to attention and resumes his position at the door.
Windsor: "Ah, thank you Lt." then back to the group "Anything else?"
Week 79: Gromdain, Yarthmont 2nd, AC 1011, 1730
You apparently have no other questions for Lord Windsor so you bid him goodnight. He again profusely thanks you and he has one of the guards escort you out. Gianbattista stays behind with his employer.
Now that your deed for Lord Windsor is done, you head back to Fernando's for the night as it is getting quite late. Upon entering the common room, you see Fernando's manager, a medium built human with a short black beard (you remember him from last time). You go over to him to ask to speak to Fernando about a room again for the night.
"Fernando's not here right now. He ran across town to do an errand right after he hired the new girl. He expected you might come back though and told me to give you this note which he quickly wrote before he left" (Hands you a note) "He said if you agree then you can again have the same room for the same price tonight. Lorraine" (you remember her from before also, an eldery human with a slight hump to her back from age, nice old lady though) "is upstairs now preparing the room."
Marcus reads the note to everyone, It obviously was written in quite a hurry and is at times hard to read
"My Friends,
I have an important errand to run across town, but I suspected you might be returning here tonight after your work for ol' Windsor was through. You can have the room again for the same price if you'll do me a small favor. Right before I left I hired a new employee, if you would just watch from the common room and tell me how she does her first day. I have no idea how she'll do, but she says she had tried to find work in all the dress shops in town and half the inns, I figured I'd give the poor girl a shot.. I'll even throw in a free mug of ale each...
-Fernando"
Such a great price for such a small task! And a free drink to boot! You readily agree and take a table in the back corner. Only three other of the tables are occupied. About 2 tables over to your left a group of merchants are quietly but intensely talking. The table closest to you on the left has but a lone occupant, a guy with a big wide hat pulled down low over his eyes, his chair leaning back against the wall below the stairs, his feet on the table... You would think he's asleep if it wasn't for the fact that you can see him puffing away at his pipe.
The final occupied table, at the far side of the room beyond the table with the guy with the hat and pipe, has a large boisterous group of humans, obviously mercenaries. Unkempt, unshaven, with a variety of arms (mostly swords) and Armor (mostly studded leather).
As you finish taking this all in, out walks a young girl from the kitchen carrying a tray, heading over to the merchants table where she sets the tray down and gives out the drinks. Her backs to you but you can immediately tell she's an elf from her ears and creamy skin tone. Her hair is bundled up inside a scarf.
She picks the tray back up and goes on over to the mercenaries table. As she's walking over you catch a glimpse of the side of her face and realsie just how young she is, she can't be over 100! (the human equivalent for a 100 year old elf would be about 16)
As she's passing out more drinks at the mercenaries table your attention turns to the merc's. You notice they have definitely noticed her... Their tone of voice changes (there speaking in Thyatian which only Sebastien understands) and the apparent leader seems to be saying something that amuses the others. She is obviously trying to just ignore their remarks, but when she places the drink in front of the leader he grabs her wrist and stands up. She tries to pull away yelling in Thyatian "nego!" but he refuses to let go. When she starts to yell out again he cups his hands over her mouth, muffeling her yells, and starts to drag her, squirming, towards the stairs.
What do you do?
