Weeks 60-79

Week 80: Gromdain, Yarthmont 2nd, AC1011, 1730

to all,

Hello all,

I have been very sick most of the last week, hence why I've been offline.
It's good to be out of bed again but I see no one has replied to this weeks
(despite the unintended extension) but as I'm late myself, I don't know
what to do. Let's see if this weeks get a better response. Your each
getting seperate messages.

to the Marcuses-

The elf girl is being dragged to the stairs by the human mercenary, she's obviously in danger. Your a BLADESINGER, pledged to aid any elf in danger, and this elf lass is definately in danger. The mercenary already is lifting her up the first couple of stairs!

WHAT DO YOU DO?

to Clain-

The elf girl is being dragged, kicking and squirming to the stairs by the human mercenary. Are you just going to sit by why this human mercenary has his way with the elf girl? She's basically just a kid!! Aren't you going to do something???!???!?? He's already started dragging her up the stairs.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

to Kagemaru-

The elf girl is being dragged, kicking and squirming to the stairs by the human mercenary. Are you just going to sit by why he rapes and probaly murders her? He's already started taking the first steps up the stairs

WHAT DO YOU DO?

Week 81: Gromdain, Yarthmont 2nd, AC1011, 1731

One of the Marcuses says (in Elvish): "Stop Monster!" As he draws his damaged sword and rises and moves forward.

The other Marcus, upon seeing what is going on joins him saying "Oh! yeah, stop evil being" and both Marcuses and Kagemaru move towards the mercenaries, with Clain and Sebastien soon close behind.

Kagemaru steps to the forefront and draws his khopesh, He appears calm but when he speaks his voice is full of rage "Unhand that maiden you foul braggart!" He yells in elvish "I'll give you a fair warning to escape with your life, trifle with me and it will be your last mistake." Then, your not sure but you think you see the faintest of a grin on his face.

The mercenary holding the girl seems slightly amused by this, and he glares at you for a moment before saying (in moderately fluent elvish) "oh yah?... I think it is I who will give YOU fair warning to escape with YOUR lives elves." he then nods to his comrades at the table, and they all rise and face you, some obveously intoxicated, others just grim and menacing.

Your enough of a distraction to the main mercenary though that the girl is able to stomp her foot on his and he winces and lets her go, she quickly jumps down the three steps and steps to the corner, he looks after her but his attention is turned more towards you. "What will it be?" He says in elvish, more of a yelled command than a question.

There are seven of them facing you, plus the one on the stairs. A couple of them appear to be drunk but you can't be certaint, none of them have drawn their weapons though, although their fists are clenched. The merchents are slowly inching away from you all (off to the far right) and the guy with the pipe has hardly moved (to your right).

What do you do/say?

Week 82: Gromdain, Yarthmont 2nd, AC1011, 1732

Kagemaru

The girl, obviously summoning great courage, darts from the corner and runs inbetween the stairs and the mercenaries over towards you, as she runs past you she whispers to you (in Alfheim Elvish): "Thank you for stopping him...", and then runs behind you.

You reply to the mercenary on the stairs (In Alfheim Elvish): "A Ninja's duty in life, is death." .... "Today is a good day to die!" and with that you lunge at the mercenary with your khopesh, but the mercenary ducks to the left (his right), with that all the mercanaries come at the group. You can hear someone, you think Clain, start to shout (in Elvish): "Seba..ah."
You swing again at the mercenary but he dodges to the right (his left) and he climbs a few stairs so that your eye level is at his upper legs. You know a chair gets thrown behind you, because you can hear it smashing and someone grunting in pain, A mercenary goes flying (in the air) behind you and crashes into the table where the guy with the pipe is, knocking the table out from underneath his feet. The guy with the pipe barely misses a beat with this, he seems to 'harrumph' then he stands up, re rights his table, sits back down and puts his feet back up on the table and leans back as if nothing is going on! Suddenly the mercenary shouts and points behind you (yelling something in Thyatian), you glance to see that one of the other mercenaries had been coming at you with a broken bottle, (you curse yourself silently for allowing yourself to be distracted with the pipe guy) but at the leaders command he stops, turns, and heads for the group instead... apparently the leader is going to face you alone.... 'his misteak' you think. You slice back at him again but he easily jumps over your swipe, and then he taunts you (in Elvish): "You really need to use a BLADE in a BAR FIGHT?"

What do you do?

to the Marcuses.

Kagemaru's out front, The Marcus with the sword is on the left and the other one is on the right, Sebastien and Clain are behind you. There are seven mercenaries around the table and another on the stairs.

The girl, obviously summoning great courage, darts from the corner and runs inbetween the stairs and the mercenaries over towards you, as she runs past Kagemaru she whispers to him (in Alfheim Elvish): "Thank you for stopping him...", and then runs behind you.

Kagemaru replies to the mercenary on the stairs (In Alfheim Elvish): "A Ninja's duty in life, is death." .... "Today is a good day to die!" and with that he lunges at the mercenary with his khopesh, but the mercenary ducks to the left, with that six of the mercanaries come at your group. One ofthem throws a chair out to the left and you hear Clain start to shout (in Elvish): "Seba...ah." and you soon hear the chair smashing and someone grunting in pain, The first of the mercenaries coming at the right Marcus appears quiet drunk. He easily graps him and using the mercenaries own inertia he manages to throw him over his head, he goes flying through the air and crashes into the table where the guy with the pipe is, knocking the table out from underneath his feet. The guy with the pipe barely misses a beat with this, he kinda 'harumphs' then he stands up, re rights his table, sits back down and puts his feet back up on the table as if nothing is going on! Turning back to the main group you notice that the mercenary on the stairs has climbed several steps. The seventh mercenary has broken a bottle (none of them have drawn weapons, the left Marcus and Kagemaru are the only one's with swords) and runs at Kagemaru, before you can warn him though the mercenary on the stairs points at the one with the bottle and yells something in Thyatian, Kagemaru glances to see what it was, but at the leaders command he [the merc with the bottle] stops, turns, and heads for you instead. each of you have two mercenaries coming at you, punching at you.
The Marcus on the right has used his sheild to block the punch of one, but now has two coming at him.
The Marcus on the left has been hit (1 hp of damage, temporary, the Marcus with the sword now has 6hp), and is facing two mercenaries coming at him, one appears inebriated somewhat.

you hear the mercenary on the stairs proclaim (in Elvish) "You really need to use a BLADE in a BAR FIGHT?"

What do you two do?

to Clain,

Kagemaru's out front, The Marcus with the sword is on the left and the other one is on the right, Sebastien is inbetween and behind them. You are behind and out to the left of them all (so that the Marcus with the sword is nearly straight in front of you and the rest are in front and a little off to your right). There are seven mercenaries around the table and another on the stairs.

The girl, obviously summoning great courage, darts from the corner and runs inbetween the stairs and the mercenaries over towards you, as she runs past Kagemaru she whispers to him (in Alfheim Elvish): "Thank you for stopping him...", and then she runs to Sebastien, who then, crossing in front of you, herds the girl towards the kitchen off to your left.

One of them throws a chair at Sebastien and the girl, you go to shout out to him in warning (in Elvish): "Seba...ah" but its too late as the chair smashes against his back, sending him and the girl to the floor. The first of the mercenaries coming at the right Marcus appears quiet drunk. Marcus easily grabs him and uses the mercenaries own inertia to throw him over his head, he goes flying through the air and crashes into the table where the guy with the pipe is, knocking the table out from underneath his feet. The guy with the pipe barely misses a beat with this, he kinda 'harumphs' then he stands up, re rights his table, sits back down and puts his feet back up on the table as if nothing is going on! Turning back to the main group you notice that the mercenary on the stairs has climbed several steps. The seventh mercenary has broken a bottle (none of them have drawn weapons, the left Marcus and Kagemaru are the only one's with swords) and runs at Kagemaru, before you can warn him though the mercenary on the stairs points at the one with the bottle and yells something in Thyatian, Kagemaru glances to see what it was, but at the leaders command the one with the bottle stops, turns, and then heads for the right marcus instead.
The Marcus on the right has used his shield to block the punch of one, but now has two coming at him.
The Marcus on the left has been hit, and is dealing with two mercenaries coming at him, one appears inebriated somewhat.
The final Mercenary is charging right at you.

you hear the mercenary on the stairs proclaim (in Elvish, obviously to Kagemaru) "You really need to use a BLADE in a BAR FIGHT?"

What do you do?

to Taarin,

Summoning all the courage you can muster, you dart out from the corner and run inbetween the stairs and the mercenaries, hoping none of them reaches out and grabs you... You make and as you run past the one with the curved sword you whisper to him (in Alfheim Elvish): "Thank you for stopping him...". The short one in the middle is motioning for you to come to him so you keep on going past the two twins to him.

You hear the one with the curved sword reply to the mercenary on the stairs (In Alfheim Elvish): "A Ninja's duty in life, is death." .... "Today is a good day to die!" and with that it sounds like a fight has broken out but you can't see because the short one is herding you towards the kitchen (you know that the Cook and the human Manager are in there). He is running right behind you on your heels, and when your about halfway to the door you hear someone yell from the combat behind you "Seba..." but then all of a sudden the elf behind you falls on top of you. 'Did he trip?' you think as you fall to the floor, and he falls half on top of you.

You lift the upper part of your body off the floor with your arms and manage to turn enough to look around (he's still ontop of your legs, your not stuck or anything though) and he's face down and appears to be out cold, wood splinters and parts of what's left of a chair are all over his back and on the surrounding floor. Your chin is stinging, you probaly scrapped it in the fall, but otherwise you seem alright even though you hit your head. You then hear someone yell (in Thyatian) "No, he's mine.". Looking up you can see the fight is raging on. Each of the two identical elves is facing two mercenaries each. The other elf is preparing to meet the charge of another mercenary. One of the mercenaries is slumped over by the far corner, not moving. The elf with the curved sword is facing the mercenary on the stairs, who has climbed a few steps higher.

The mercenary on the stairs proclaims to the elf (in Elvish) "You really need to use a BLADE in a BAR FIGHT?"

What do you do?

Week 83: Gromdain, Yarthmont 2nd, AC1011, 1733

To all,

well it took a little prodding but we got a 100% response rate! I had even
sent a special message to the lurkers and got them to answer!
Congratulations all! Should I take this to mean that you prefer this
individual type messages? I hope so because that is what you are each
getting this turn.

To Taarin,

After a moments struggle you manage to free your legs from under the elf. Upon checking him over he is breathing deeply but regularly. He's not bleeding but it looks like a nasty bump is forming on the back of his head.

Seeing that he's okay for the moment, you head toward the kitchen, hearing an odd yell behind you (in Elvish, two voices) "Double Marcus spinning attack!". Not knowing waht to make of that odd yell, and becomeing more afraid you break into a full run for the kitchen but as you go to push the door open, it hits something! Somebody was on the other side and just got smacked!

What do you do?

Jennifer replied: Taarin pulls herself out from under the unconscious elf and checks to see if he's okay (breathing normally, no badly bleeding wounds).

If he is okay, she then goes to the corner in the kitchen where she stashed her things and gets her walking stick, "just in case" the mercenaries try to come after her. She knows that the tavern manager and cook will not intervene in the fight, or with the mercenaries should they come after her. She's also pretty sure that she's going to lose her job, and so she wants to keep her things close at hand. Once she gets her things, she'll return and "stand guard" over the unconscious elf.

If the elf appears to be badly injured, she will try to bind his worst wound, and then go get her stick, etc. (as above).

to Kagemaru,

You proclaim loudly (in elvish): "You're right, I don't need my blade to take care the likes of you." and you begin to sheath your Khopesh, but just then he lashes out and kicks you in the temple. You take 5 paints of damage (3 of them temporary) and now have 2hp.

Stumbling back you let go of your blade and it drops the rest of the way into its sheath, but it's not secured. While your stumbling back, your not sure if its just the blow to your head but you could of sworn you heard two voices yell (in Elvish): "Double Marcus Spinning attack!" your not sure what that means and don't have time to ponder it. Your oponent on the stairs has now shifted his stance and is further back from the edge of the stairs, it will be much harder to kick him now as you had wanted to do.

What do you want to do?

to Clain,

You planned on letting him get close in his charge then side step while drawing your dagger and sticking your leg out to trip him, then backstab him on the ground.

You hear Kagemaru proclaim loudly (in Elvish): "You're right, I don't need my blade to take care the likes of you." but you can't take your attention of teh mercenary.
'Steady' your thinking to yourself, 'steady' as he's nearing you, then you hear the Marcuses yell "Double Marcus Spinning attack", as confused as you are by that odd yell the mercenary is too clos iin his charge to take your eyes off him. 'steady... NOW' and you begin to dodge to the side reaching for your dagger, but you did it just a wee bit too early, and the charging mercenary, has a slit second to react and shift his course, but neither does he have enough to fully counter your move... He crashes into your shoulder, bouncing back sprawled on his back. You are caught off balance by this too and fall onto your back. You take 1hp of temporary damage from the impact and fall, now have 19hp.

Your on your back, what do you do?

James replied: I just stand there until he just right up he gets up in my face then i grab my dagger out step the side and stick my leg out and trip his a@@. with the dagger aimed to his heart!!

to the Marcuses,

Nice comic touch... :)

You hear Kagemaru loudly proclaim (in Elvish): "You're right, I don't need my blade to take care the likes of you."

You both yell (in Elvish): "Double Marcus Spinning attack" and upon hearing that the two charging at you (including the one with the bottle) pause and look, perplexed, at each other.

You both then begin spinning for your attack. One of the Mercenaries runs on past you off to the left, Clain will have to handle that one.

Right Marcus,

You spin around and then, lifting up, smash into on of the mercenaries, sending him flying with a loud 'shmmackkk' but you also think you hear your shield creaking like its about to snap.

The two that had paused at your odd yell now continue to close, the one with the broken bottle is coming toward you.

Left Marcus,

You don't have much room (the other Marcus is too close) so you have to bring your swing inward. You spin around and manage to, using both hands, smash the hilt of the sword into the side of the face of the merceanry, followed by an upward thrust elbow into his chin as his head snapps back toward you, those two blows send him stumbling backwards, bleeding. The two that had stopped at your odd yell now continue on forward and the one catches the other one stumbling backwards and rights him.

What do you two do?

Week 84: Gromdain, Yarthmont 2nd, AC1011, 1733

to all,

well after a LONG break (sorry 'bout dat), Several of you have expressed an
interest in continuing, and no one said they wanted out when I asked so
here we go again.

I am swamped Tuesdays & Thursdays, (and very busy other days) so if a
deadline would fall on a Tue or Thu you have an automatic one day
extension.

We were in the middle of that bar fight with the mercenaries who were
harassing the elf-girl.

Your each getting a seperate message.

to Clain,

you stand back up and spy your dagger a little ways behind you, where it skidded to when you dropped it in the collision. You hear a bunch of shattering bottles over by the bar, but don't have time to look. You notice the other mercenary is just begining to get back up (he's on all fours right now), if you take the time to retrieve the dagger, he will have time to get up,

what do you want to do?

to the right Marcus,

the one you sent flying with your shield, keeps stumbling back till he finally falls on his back.
The one with the bottle is being more cautious and he slowly aproaches holding the broken bottle menacingly. he make a few tentative test thrusts, but you easily avoid them, you can tell he's just testing you out. You also hear a bunch of shattering bottles over by the bar.

What do you want to do?

to the left Marcus,

The second mercenary facing you doesn't just right the other mercenary, he throws him at you! You stumble back and just barely manage to maintain your feet. You use his momentum and spin around with him and throw him with a swift kick. But before you can turn back around, the other mercenary jumps on your back and wraps his arms around your neck and begins squeezing, using both his weight pulling your head down and back combined with his own strength to choking you.

What do you do?

To Kagemaru,

realising how limited your options are, you decide to try to grapple with his his legs, so you run towards him, figuring you'll either catch him by surprise and pull his legs out from under him or he will kick (whichi you will be ready for) and grab his outstretched leg.

As you begin to run you hear a series of shattering bottles behind you (sounds like it's clear across the room).

Unfortunately he does neither, he instead runs up a couple steps then jumps off! He lands on the pipe dude's table! Knocking it over but he manages to stay uprigh and jumps down and begins to charge at you from the flank! (as your running forward)

What do you do? (or try to do?)

to Taarin,

you hide up against the door lintel and you hear someone on the other side moan or mutter (or perhaps curse). The door then begins to very slowly open (opening out into the room you are in). The first thing you see is the edge of a blade! You quickly look around and find a heavy crock mug. You lift it over your head and turn back to the door... now a hand is out (and part of the arm) holding a hatchet... you bring the mug down on the arm, on it shatters. You hear the person who that arm belongs to yell in pain and drops the hatchet, but before you can do more the door quickly flys the rest of the way open, knocking you in the face (2hp of temperorary damage, 1hp left!) and you go stumbling back with your arms flailng behind you to stop your fall. After knocking several bottles down (loudly) you manage to stop your self in the corner using the shelves on one side and the bar on the other, your 'leaning back' at about a 45 degree angle, with your weight on your arms, when you hear a voice say "Taarin?" And you look up to see the bar manager standing by the door, holding his bleeding arm, with a confused look on his face.

What do you do?

to Jean-Marc Rouxel de Villiers,

well I'm still waiting for the last spell, but it is a second level spell
anyway so we can start without having that done. You can have any two
spells currently memorised, as long as at least one (if not both) is an
alteration spell. For this time, and this time only you can use you lurker
emails, since he has been observing the fight from the merchant's table.

you had been negotiating with some merchants about something (nothing really important) in a bar in Vyonnes called Fernando's Inn. While there you've seen this fight break out (you've been a lurker for all these previous messages, so I won't repeat all that happened.) The merchants begin to bolt,

what do you do?

Week 85: 1734, Gromdain, Yarthmont 2nd, AC1011, 1734

to all,

Wow, I guess you were anxious to restart, everyone had replied already and
we still had time to go! That's right, a 100% response rate that's early
to boot! All I can say is WOW! the only reason this did not come out
sooner is my own lack of time, that's why its actually late, faults
completely on my end.

Your each getting individual messages again since it seems to work so good.

to Clain,

You go over to the mercenary as he's trying to stand back up and you kick him back down to the ground. Then you walk around to his side and stomp on him, as he moans and coughs in pain... He won't be getting up for a few minutes... Suddenly, from behind you comes a tremendously loud BBAAAANNNNG! you spin around, your ears still ringing... It came from that guy with the pipe, he's standing up now, with his arm over his head holding some metal object (it looks like there might be a whif of smoke comeing out of it). He then angrily says (in Elvish with some heaviy outlandish accent) "What be wrong with ya savages! Dontcha know to take something like this outside? There be people here tryin to enjoy a drink!" you notice that apparently his table was knocked over again... He looks around angrily then goes to right his table again.

From behind you you hear the bar manager start to speak, when you turn around you see he is holding a hand crossbow, pointed over at Kagemaru and the mercenary leader. (in Elvish) "Yes, if you want to continue this foolisness, take it outside... Jacques, they are personal guests of Fernando, just like you."

Jacques (the leader of the mercenaries) looks around saying (in Elvish) "Friends of Fernando eh?" Then turning back to Kagemaru "That Fernando always was the type for taking in strays." the mercenaries (or the concious ones at least) all have a chuckle at that. "well ya fight ok.. not great, but good enough for a little warm up exercise" he says with a smile. Then he address two of his men "Take them" (indicating the mercenaries that are knocked out) "upstairs and let them sleep it off" as his men start to drag their comrades upstairs, the leader goes back over to the table and taking his men's glasses and bottles from the table, finds enough alcohol to fill his cup, then he sits down.

You also noticed (when you were looking in the direction of the pipe guy) that one of the Marcuses is on all fours, massaging his throat while coughing and wheezing.

What do you want to do/say?

to the right Marcus,

you wait for an opening to lash out and kick your opponent, but he doesn't give you one with his constant thrusts and feints with that propably VERY sharp broken bottle....

He makes a move to the right and you move to block it, only too late to relise that it was a fake and he's coming at you straight on from the left! Just as he's preparing to strike suddenly from behind you comes a tremendously loud BBAAAANNNNG!

you and your oppent both jump at that deafening noise and you spin around to see what on Mystara could of caused it, your ears still ringing...

Then he address two of his men "Take them" (indicating the mercenaries that are knocked out) "upstairs and let them sleep it off" as his men start to drag their comrades upstairs, the leader goes back over to the table and taking his men's glasses and bottles from the table, finds enough alcohol to fill his cup, then he sits down.

you also notice that your double is on all fours, massaging his neck and coughing and wheezing.

What do you do?

to the left Marcus,

Wincing at the thought of how this is going to hurt, you throw yourself backwards on to your back, hopeing to pin the mercenary under you.

It works and you both wince at the impact. While you can hear he has had the wind knocked out of him, his grip only looses for a second then he's back to squeezing, even as he's wheezing for air... This one is strong!

The mercenary whispers in your ear (high pitched due because he's still short on breath and slightly wheezing as he says it, in elvish) "Nice move, I'll have to remember that one... now goodnight."
As you begin to blackout, you see that the pipe guy who had his table knocked over again is mad now, he takes some metal object from his waist and holds it over his head. Suddenly a few sparks fly out the top of it followed by a whiff of smoke. You hear a BANG noise but in you near blackout it sounds 20 miles away. What ever it was though it makes the mercenary under you loosen his grip just enough that you can use your last bit of strength to break it and you roll off him.

As your on your knees and right hand, coughing and gaging, and rubing your throat with your left hand, the pipe guy says (in Elvish with some heaviy outlandish accent) "What be wrong with ya savages! Dontcha know to take something like this outside? There be people here tryin to enjoy a drink!".

From the bar you hear the bar manager start to speak (in Elvish) "Yes, if you want to continue this foolisness, take it outside... Jacques, they are personal guests of Fernando, just like you."

You hear a human voice, apparently the mentioned Jacques, saying (in Elvish) "Friends of Fernando eh? That Fernando always was the type for taking in strays." you hear the mercenaries (or the concious ones at least) all have a chuckle at that. "well ya fight ok.. not great, but good enough for a little warm up exercise" then changing his tone of voice "Take them upstairs and let them sleep it off" as you hear the sound of the mercenaries start to drag their comrades upstairs, you hear some glasses and bottles clinking, and a chair moving, but your too ocupied with making sure your neck is still round, to look up.

Your too busy gasping for air and recovering to do anything else this round.

to Kagemaru,

Once you think he is in range you drop to one knee and then try to sweep him with your free leg. He easily avoids this though by using his own forward momentum, and your now lower stature, to jump over you.

You quickly re-rise to both feet and turn to face him. He had landed with his back to you but immediately (as you were turning to face him) does a little spin with a hop to turn to face you. As he lands from that little hop though BAAAAAAAAANNNNNGGGGGGGG

It startles him as much as it does you, it came from behind you! It was so loud your ears are ringing now. You keep turning, so that now your right shoulder is facing the mercenary and your left shoulder is facing the direction the sound came from, and you take a step back so your back is against the stairs, and while trying to keep an eye on the mercenary, you look to see what on Mystara that noise was.

That guy with the pipe, he's standing up now, with his arm over his head holding some metal object (it looks like there might be a whif of smoke comeing out of it). He then angrily says (in Elvish with some heaviy outlandish accent) "What be wrong with ya savages! Dontcha know to take something like this outside? There be people here tryin to enjoy a drink!" apparently he's made because his table was knocked over again... He looks around angrily then goes to right his table again.

From across the room you you hear the bar manager start to speak, when you turn around you see he is holding a hand crossbow, pointed in your direction (and the mercenaries). He say's (in Elvish) "Yes, if you want to continue this foolisness, take it outside... Jacques, they are personal guests of Fernando, just like you."

The leader you've been fighting (apparently the affore mentioned Jacques) looks around at you and the other elves saying (in Elvish) "Friends of Fernando eh?" Then turning back to you "That Fernando always was the type for taking in strays." the mercenaries (or the concious ones at least) all have a chuckle at that. "well ya fight ok.. not great, but good enough for a little warm up exercise" he says with a smile. Then he address two of his men "Take them" (indicating the mercenaries that are knocked out) "upstairs and let them sleep it off" as his men start to drag their comrades upstairs, the leader goes back over to the table and taking his men's glasses and bottles from the table, finds enough alcohol to fill his cup, then he sits down.

this is your first chance to see how your comrades faired... Clain and one of the Marcuses seem ok. However, the other Marcus is on the ground on all fours, right by where the pipe guy is. He's massaging his throat while coughing and wheezing. You also notice that Sebastien is lying face down, about half way to the kitchen door, not moving, and there is what seems to reminants of a chair on his back and around him. the girl isn't in sight.

What do you want to do/say?

to Taarin,

You yell at the bar Manager (in Thyatian) "Get Down!" and you struggle to your feet (keeping your head below the bar). He looks out into the bar at the brawl, stunned (apparently by what he see's).

You crawl along the bar for a little ways and gather up some crocery, while rubbing your sore face (oh ok, 1 hp of temperory damage 'healed', 2hp left). As you slowly go to peek you head above the bar, the manager reaches for that hand crossbow you saw earlier under the bar. Just as your about to get your head above the bar

BBAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNGGG!

SCARES YOU (nearly) TO DEATH!! YOUR HEART IS POUNDING IN YOUR EARS!!! and you drop back down to the floor, breathing heavily from fear.

Then you hear someone say (in Elvish with some heaviy outlandish accent) "What be wrong with ya savages! Dontcha know to take something like this outside? There be people here tryin to enjoy a drink!"

you also notice that all sounds of the fight have stopped.

the bar manager (who had also jumped at the sound) now has the hand crosbow up and pyointed into the room. He says (in Elvish) "Yes, if you want to continue this foolisness, take it outside... Jacques, they are personal guests of Fernando, just like you."

you hear that one mercenary that had grabbed you (it will be a long time before your able to forget that voice) who is apparently the one named Jacques, say (in Elvish) "Friends of Fernando eh? .... That Fernando always was the type for taking in strays." you hear some of the mercenaries have a light chuckle at that. "well ya fight ok.. not great, but good enough for a little warm up exercise" Then changing his tone of voice, like he's giving orders "Take them upstairs and let them sleep it off" You hear some people moving around and what sounds like something (apparently whoever the them was) being dragged, as well as the clinknig of a few bottles, then the sound of a chair being slightly moved.

Your heart is still pounding in your ears, though you have regained your normal breathing. The bar manager seems to slightly relaxe (he still has the crossbow pointed out into the room though) and beyond him you can see that all the merchants had at some point fled, except for one who's now standing up, who looks over in your direction.

Do you want to stand up yet?

PS I did recieve your other messages, will reply when I have time (which
likely won't be anytime soon!).

to Jean-Marc,

The merchants you were negotiating with all have fled, your left alone, standing at the table with your back by the wall, watching this fight.

The two apparent leaders are over by the stairs, the mercenary on them, the elf on the ground, ouch! the mercenary just kicked the elf in the head.... The one who tried to run the girl to safety is still out... the others are holding on... You can't see the girl now, she's behind the bar and the door to the kitchen (which is open) is blocknig your view of her, she had attacked the manager as he was coming out (all she could see was an arm with a weapon) and he had reacted by flinging the door open, smacking her undoutably, You hear him look in that direction and confusedly say "Taarin?" (her name perhaps?), And you hear womans voice (apparently hers, in Thyatian) bark "Get Down!" then he looks out at the scene in the bar room, and lets go of the door... The door swings back closed and you can see her now, she's scrambling to her feet (she had apparently been at about a 45 degree angle on her arms with her arms on the bar and a shelf on the back wall, you guess she had been nocked back by the door) she gets back on to her feet (or rather her knees, keeping her head down beneath the bar).
You look back out on the fight.
The mercenary leader is now off the stairs on the floor running at the elf leader, who drops down and try's to sweep him, but the leader jumps over the elf (they seem to be very acrobatic!), you notice on of the twin elves is in trouble, one of the mercenaries jumps him from behind and wraps his arms around his neck.. You start casting Charm Person on that mercenary (not sure if the mercenary will even be able to hear your later command across the room over the fight) as your casting you see your target manages to pull the elf down to the floor (although it looks like the elf is on top of the mercenary, but you can't get sidetracked by that, as you concentrate on worknig the Spell) and his musclular arms are squuezing at the elf's neck

BAAAAAAANNNNGG!!!
'What was that?!?' your concentration is broken and your spell fizzles (you jump a little too). The fight has stopped. Every one is looking at the guy who had been sitting over across the room with the pipe. He's standing up now, with his arm over his head holding some metal object (it looks like there might be a whif of smoke comeing out of it). He then angrily says (OC: did you want to take elvish as one of your languages? you have 2 unused slots and I'll allow you to start with Elvish in addition to Thyatian and Sylaire if you want) (in Elvish with some heaviy outlandish accent) "What be wrong with ya savages! Dontcha know to take something like this outside? There be people here tryin to enjoy a drink!" you notice that apparently his table was knocked over again... He looks around angrily then goes to right his table again.

To your right you you hear the bar manager start to speak, when you turn around you see he is holding a hand crossbow, pointed over at Kagemaru and the mercenary leader. (in Elvish) "Yes, if you want to continue this foolisness, take it outside... Jacques, they are personal guests of Fernando, just like you."

The leader of the mercenaries (apparently the one called Jacques he was talkng to) looks around saying (in Elvish) "Friends of Fernando eh?" Then turning back to the elf 'leader' "That Fernando always was the type for taking in strays." the mercenaries (or the concious ones at least) all have a chuckle at that.

The elf who was being choked is now free, he's on all fours not far from the pipe guy, massaging his neck and coughing and wheezing. You look back to check on the girl, she now has her back to the bar, apparently very frightened (she seems to be breathing heavily). She looks at the bar manager (who's still pointing that crossbow) and you think she briefly notices you looking at her (she's just about behind the bar manager from your perspective, and the bar manager is pointing the crossbow out into the room such that his side is to you.)

Week 86: Gromdain, Yarthmont 2nd, AC1011, 1735

to Marcus-

You go over and check on your 'double'... He was nearly knocked out by strangulation and is still weak, there are still very evident finger marks on his throat. As your checking on him and eventually helping him to his feet, you hear the conversations happening in the bar.

You hear kagemaru say(In Elvish), "it seems that I can't identify friend or foe these days. I am Kagemaru, a th-".... but he is cut off by Clain who interupts yelling (in Elvish but agitated, you know him well enough to tell it's that temper of his): "You want some, come get some! If you don't like me... Then.... " he seems to pause ".... then Bite me!"

You hear the mercenary reply back (insultingly in Elvish): "Boy, I took it easy on you and your friends this time but i won't the next".

Clain then starts ranting "Be a real man and put down that little cross-bow and fight with me and we'll show him what a real ass-kicking is!" (Who is he talkng to? His temper is going to get us in trouble again....)

Then as your helping your 'twin' to his feet you hear Kagemaru (apparently to Clain, in Elvish with a soothing tone) "Clain, while it is good to know how to fight, it is better to know When to fight, and best to know when Not to."

You think to yourself 'uh-oh... THAT will piss Clain off even more probaly....' After making sure your 'other' can stand on his own you can turn more to take in the scene in the room... The mercenary is still seated with his back to our half of the room... The girl (Was Taarin her name, you think?) is kneling over the unconcious Sebastien who is lying face down on the floor. She rises up then say's to us (Directed mostly at Kagemaru, in Alfheim Elvish): "Thank you for saving me from that...." (Glancing frightfully in the mercenaries direction then quickly away, her voice drops off in fright but you think you hear her finish her sentence) "...man."

You finally get a good look at her... While she undoutably is elvish.... There's something about her that you can't quite place that doesn't seem right.... ahh.., It's probaly just the unusual hair color (Pale white) that's throwing you off you figure.

What do you do/say?

to Marcus-

As your still on your hands and knees a hand lands on your back (non threatingly), and someone is suddenly kneeling beside you. You hear your own voice whisper in your ear (in Elvish): "Are you ok?..... Take it easy..... Deep breaths..... Your ok...." and other such words from your 'double' as he's checking you over. beyond him you hear the conversation in the rest of the bar but are too distracted to look up....

You hear kagemaru say(In Elvish), "it seems that i can't identify friend or foe these days. i am Kagemaru, a th-".... but he is cut off by Clain who interupts yelling (in Elvish but it sounds like he's angry): "You want some, come get some! If you don't like me... Then.... " he seems to pause ".... then Bite me!"

You hear the mercenary reply back (insultingly in Elvish): "Boy! I took it easy on you and your friends this time but i won't the next".

Clain then starts ranting "Be a real man and put down that little cross-bow and fight with me and we'll show him what a real ass-kicking is!" (That doesn't make sense, Who is he talkng to?)

Then as you 'twin' is helpnig you to your feet you hear Kagemaru (apparently to Clain, in Elvish with a soothing tone) "Clain, while it is good to know how to fight, it is better to know When to fight, and best to know when Not to."

You almost manage to get a laugh out of your sore throat from that, as that sounds like something that will only make Clain madder.

Now that your on your feet you can take in the scene in the room... The mercenary is still seated with his back to our half of the room... The girl (Was Taarin her name, you think?) is kneling over the unconcious Sebastien who is lying face downon the floor.

What do you do/say?

to Clain,

Kagemaru say's to Jacques, who's sitting down still with his back to all of you(In Elvish), "it seems that I can't identify friend or foe these days..." He's making peace after he called us dogs? your furiated and so you cut in
"... I am Kagemaru, a th-".... and you interupt, yelling (in Elvish): "You want some, come get some! If you don't like me... Then.... " pauseing, searching for what to say next ".... then Bite me!"

You hear the mercenary reply back (insultingly in Elvish, without even turning around!): "Boy, I took it easy on you and your friends this time but i won't the next".

You turn to the barkeep and yell at him, he turns and points the crossbow at you briefly before training it back on Kagemaru & Jacques (he had been pointing it at the last of the merchants who stayed behind and is now standing and taking a couple of steps back with his arm up to show no hostile intent.) "Be a real man and put down that little cross-bow and fight with me and we'll show him what a real ass-kicking is!"
You also see the girl cautiously come out from behind the bar, and she goes over to check on Sebastien.

Kagemaru spaeks to you (in Elvish with a soothing tone) "Clain, while it is good to know how to fight, it is better to know When to fight, and best to know when Not to."

Your not sure what to do or say, so you just watch the girl go to Sebastien for now. You also notice that at the far table in the corner, all the merchants had fled except for one who is standing up now watching the scene.

The girl kneels by Sebastien and checks on him, then rises again. She says to us all (primarily to Kagemaru, in Alfheim Elvish): "Thank you for saving me from that...." (Glancing frightfully in the mercenaries direction then quickly away, her voice drops off in fright but you think you hear her finish her sentence) "...man."

You finally get a good look at her... While she undoutably is elvish.... There's something about her that you can't quite place that doesn't seem right.... ahh.., It's probaly just the unusual hair color (Pale white) that's throwing you off you figure, but what ever it is, it's interesting.

What do you do/say?

to Kagemaru,

Your surprised to learn that your opponent, Jacques, who you silently admit was pretty good, is also a guest of your host, Fernando.

You say to him (In Elvish), "it seems that I can't identify friend or foe these days." He gives no sign of acknowledging you even spoke, still with his back to you. "I am Kagemaru, a th-" But your suddenly cut off by Clain who is yelling (in Elvish but very agitated): "You want some, come get some! If you don't like me... Then.... " he seems to pause ".... then Bite me!"

You hear the mercenary reply back (insultingly in Elvish): "Boy, I took it easy on you and your friends this time but i won't the next". Again, he neither gets up from his chair nor turns to face you. You also notice that the last of the merchants, the only one who did not flee, is standing now and starts to approach the barman, who quickly turns fearing an attack and points the crossbow away from you and Jacques to him. He quickly says something in Thyatian then puts his hands up and backs away a few steps.

Clain then starts ranting, this time to the barman (Who turns back and points the crossbow at Clain, before retraining it in your and Jacques direction) "Be a real man and put down that little cross-bow and fight with me and we'll show him what a real ass-kicking is!"

You turn to Clain and try to assoothe him, saying to him (in Elvish): "Clain, while it is good to know how to fight, it is better to know When to fight, and best to know when Not to."

While saying this to him you see the girl, you think you overheard her name, Taarin was it? Peek out from behind the bar, then run out and kneels by the unconscious Sebastien. After checking on him, she rises up then and say's to you (in Alfheim Elvish): "Thank you for saving me from that...." (Glancing frightfully in the mercenaries direction then quickly away, her voice drops off in fright but you think you hear her finish her sentence) "...man."

Though when she stands up and looks at you to say the above, you bearly hear what she say's, for your too (stuck? confused? confounded? distracted?) by her appearance...... There is... something... about her. She is elven, but not like any elf you have ever seen, and young too, she doesn't look like she can even be a hundred yet. But more than that, your not sure what. You know you've never seen her before, but yet she looks vaguely familiar somehow. You can't place it nor why, though it seems to both excite and disturb you at the same time. She is beautiful, for sure, and she has a fine creamy skin tone, which offsets her hair which is unusually pale. Her ears are very delicate and slender, come to a fine point. Through her flowing, neutral colored clothes you get the sense that, while still young and developing, she has a curvaceous build. Perhaps most unusual though, is her eyes. They are very large, and your not positive from half way across the room, but you could swear that the whites of her eyes are more grey than white. You can also, however, immediately pickup from those unusually large eyes, even half way across the room, you can see that those grey orbs seem to reflect a life of hardships.

What do you do/say? (if you can regain your focus)

to Taarin,

You carefully stand up and see the lead elf talking to Jacques's back (who is seated at the table) (In Elvish): "it seems that I can't identify friend or foe these days. I am Kagemaru, a th-".... but he is cut off by the elf nearest you who interupts yelling (in Elvish but agitated): "You want some, come get some! If you don't like me... Then.... " he seems to pause ".... then Bite me!"

The bar manager suddenly turns and re-aims the crossbow at the last of the merchants (the others are gone) who is now standing and apparnetly took a few steps toward you (on the other side of the manager from you), which the manager took as a threat. He quickly puts his arms up and says (In Thyatian): "No threat intended" and starts to back off. Realizing it's nothing you look back out to the elves and the mercenaries.

Jacques replies back (insultingly in Elvish): "Boy, I took it easy on you and your friends this time but i won't the next".

Then near elf then turns to the manager and starts ranting (the manager responds by turning and briefly pointing the crossbow at him, before retraining it out on Jacques & Kagemaru) (In Elvish): "Be a real man and put down that little cross-bow and fight with me and we'll show him what a real ass-kicking is!" During his rant you brush past the manager and run out to the fallen elf. As you kneel down to check on him you notice out of the corner of your eye that the one twin is helping the other to his feet.

While checking on the fallen elf to see that he is alright (asides from being unconcious) Kagemaru say's to the angry elf (in Elvish with a soothing tone) "Clain, while it is good to know how to fight, it is better to know When to fight, and best to know when Not to."

You rise up then and say to the elves (Directed mostly at Kagemaru, in Alfheim Elvish): "Thank you for saving me from that...." (you Glance frightfully in the mercenaries direction then quickly away, and your voice drops off in fright but you manage to squeak out the last of your sentence) "...man."

What do you do/say? (I think mostly it is their chance to reply to you right now)

to Jean-Marc,

You notice the girl cautiously stand up and look out into the room.

The lead elf talking to Jacques's back (who is seated at the table) (In Elvish): "it seems that I can't identify friend or foe these days. I am Kagemaru, a th-".... but he is cut off by the elf nearest the bar who interupts yelling (in Elvish but agitated): "You want some, come get some! If you don't like me... Then.... " he seems to pause ".... then Bite me!"

You attempt to approach the girl to confort her, but the bar manager, who is between you two, apparently misteaks your steps for an attack! He turns and points the crossbow right at you! You quickly raise your arms and tell him (In Thyatian): "No threat intended" and you take a few steps back

Jacques replies back to the elf (insultingly in Elvish): "Boy, I took it easy on you and your friends this time but i won't the next".

Then the elf nearest the bar then turns to the manager and starts ranting (the manager responds by turning and briefly pointing the crossbow at him, before retraining it out on Jacques & Kagemaru) (In Elvish): "Be a real man and put down that little cross-bow and fight with me and we'll show him what a real ass-kicking is!" During his rant the girl brushes past the manager and runs out to the fallen elf and kneels down to check on him. You also notice that across the room the one twin is helping the other to his feet.

Kagemaru say's to the angry elf (in Elvish with a soothing tone) "Clain, while it is good to know how to fight, it is better to know When to fight, and best to know when Not to."

The girl rises up after checking on the unconcious elf and says to the elves (Directed mostly at Kagemaru, her back to you, in Alfheim Elvish): "Thank you for saving me from that...." (She Glances frightfully in the mercenaries direction then quickly away and down, and you think you hear her voice drops off in fright but you think you hear her finish the sentence) "...man."

What do you do/say?

Week 87: Gromdain, Yarthmont 2nd, AC1011, 1736

The two marcuses jump up, at the ready and in near unison, completing each others sentences (that's going to get downright unnerving) they proclaim (in Elvish): "Go easy on us? That was almost too easy. We're ready for you!!"

The mercenary, still not even turning around, takes a drink from his cup then replies (in Elvish, begining to sound agitated): "Listen, before that was just fun.... But now your starting to annoy me. That was just some light exercise, but if need be I can view it as a warm up instead, However I'd rather not have to re-clean my blade. I'd suggest you just sit down and enjoy your ale." And he takes another drink.

The bar manager chips in (in Elvish): "I'd listen to him if I were you lad, but if your not going to then TAke It OUTSIDE!"

Sebastien moans, he might be starting to come back around.

Just then the front door opens an Fernando walks in with a broad smile on his face. His smile quickly fades away upon seeing the state of his bar. "What happened?" He half whispers in Elvish.

The mercenary cheerfully replies back (in Elvish): "Oh, just a little exercise." Then you think you hear him laugh.

Fernando looks from Jacques, to us, then back to Jacques, with a look of first incredulity on his face which slowly turns to apprehension as he comes to understand some of what must have happened. To try to ease the situation he cautiously offers (in ELvish): "oh, ok, well then, since 'exercise' usually brings up a thirst, how about a round to whet your whistle eh? on the house?"

The mercenary quaffs the rest of his drink and while rising replies (In Elvish): "No thanks Ferny, I'm done here." And he walks towards the stairs. "I'm going to go catch some winks". As he climbs up the stairs he glances over at you once, and flashes a toothy grin, and you think he laughs at you. Then he looks back forward and continues on upstairs.

Fernando starts to walk over more towards where the group is and ask (in Elvish): "Is everyone all...." but he trails off when he see's Sebastien on the ground. He quickly hurries over and checks on him before turning to the girl and saying "Taarin, go to the kitchin and get an onion or a lemon or anything with a strong fragrance". The girl, Taarin, immediately complies as fernando continues, talking this time te the bar manager "Rob, bring me that mortar and pistel", The bar manager replaces the crossbow beneath the counter and grabs a mortar and pistel from one of the shelves and brings it over.

What do you do/say?

To Taarin,

The two twins jump up, at the ready and in near unison, completing each others sentences (a bit unnervingly) they proclaim (in Elvish): "Go easy on us? That was almost too easy. We're ready for you!!"

You don't think the loud one saw your smile.

The mercenary, still not even turning around, takes a drink from his cup then replies (in Elvish, begining to sound agitated): "Listen, before that was just fun.... But now your starting to annoy me. I'll presume you do just that. But is there anything else you want to
do while in the kitchen (you can easily find a lemon or an onion in the
kitchen, or even some smelly cheese, or perhaps something else, your call).
What about upon returning to the main room with it (presuming you do so),
is there anything you want to do/say that I can work into next weeks?

to Jean-Marc

The two twin elves jump up, at the ready and in near unison, completing each others sentences (that's a bit unnerving) they proclaim (in Elvish): "Go easy on us? That was almost too easy. We're ready for you!!"

The mercenary cheerfully replies back (in Elvish): "Oh, just a little exercise." Then you think you hear him laugh.

The new comer looks from the mercenary, to the elves, then back to the mercenary, with a look of first incredulity on his face which slowly turns to apprehension as he comes to understand some of what must have happened. As he climbs up the stairs he seems to briefly leer over at teh elves (maybe even laughs). Then he looks back forward and continues on upstairs.

'Ferny' must be 'Fernando', since this is 'Fernando's Inn'

Fernando starts to walk over more towards where the elves are and ask (in Elvish): "Is everyone all...." but he trails off when he see's the one on the ground. Week 88: Gromdain, Yarthmont 2nd, AC1011, 1738

okay all, sorry about the delay here, things have been crazy on my end. We
are EXTREMELY short handed at work, two people have quit, were training two
newbies, the owner is out of town on vacation, and of the other three asst.
Manager's, one has been out with the flu, another has been in carolina (for
a funeral I think), and a third got suspended, so it's been just me (asst.
Manager) and the one full manager. Plus I've been busy trying to get into
this travel study to Peru over the summer (www.csufresno.edu/perutour/),
and working on taxes and term papers, and getting ready for my trip over
spring break, for which I leave tomorrow morning. Unfortunately this also
happens to be mostly a communication scene, and I'm not going to be here.
So, were going to try something here that I hope works. An unmoderated
conversation section. Basically I want you to reply to each other in
character and hopefully things go well. When I get back I'll look through
it all and co-lated it into the next section for the lurkers. Unfortunatly
you will not be able to communicate with Fernando nor Sebastien. Hope this
works. Your each getting different messages.

to Taggart,

ok' I'm putting in the bit about what you wrote for your opening, however I
had to change it slightly. Given how I'm having to do this turn, there
wasn't time for you to eat a whole meal so I had to change it to just a
sandwich. The rest is the same. Also, Since Taggart's not actually a part
of the group yet, I'll continue to let you lurk (in other words, recieve
the other's messages).

Taggart is upstairs with Nellie, so is not a part of their conversation.

This week, Taggart is, ahem, occupied.

to Taarin,

>Taarin rushes into the kitchen and grabs the first strong-fragranced thing on the counter: a wedge of green-veined, stinking Averoignian cheese. She presses it quickly into Fernando's hand,

He places the cheese in the pistel and starts grinding it with the mortar (or is it the other way around? I just know it's called a pistel & mortar but I don't know which is which).

While you were in the kitchen, the one that had been fighting nearest the bar apparently left, as he's no where in sight. The pipe guy also has a dog, which had been outside during the fight, it has since come back in and is under the pipe guy's table. Also, Nellie, the other waitress had come back downstairs. She goes into the kitchen just as your coming out.

>but then walks back over behind the bar. Brushing debris from the fight aside, she comes up with one unbroken tray, a few chipped mugs, and a pitcher, which she fills with the tavern's strongest ale.

Nellie walks back out carrying a sandwich over to the guy with the pipe, You can't quite hear it but the guy with the pipe laughs about something and she throws her arms around his neck and sits in his lap, and after flirting with him, starts helping him eat the sandwich. She's definately cozying up to him, you don't know her that well (this being your first day here) but your quickly getting an idea of her character.

Fernando doesn't have to grind the cheese long before you can catch a faint whif of it way over at the bar. He then waves the pistel under Sebastien's nose and tires his best to waft the scent into his face. Eventually it works and Sebastien jerks awake (in Elvish, with a crinkled nose) "oh... what happen...?" then as he starts to raise up his head "Owww!!" He grabs his neck as his face contorts in pain.

"You alright?" Fernando asks (in Elvish), Sebastien massages his neck and based on his face, the pain apparently is slowly subsiding.

Nellie begins pulling the pipe guy upstairs, but as they are leaving the main floor he stops and talks directly to the elves that helped you and says (in that odd elvish of his), " I couldna help but notice you were eyeballin' me a wee bit ago. And I couldna help but notice that ya' coulda used bit 'o' help earlier." He pauses briefly then continues, ignorin Nellie tugging on his arm, "Name's Taggart. --I kin help you, -- but I cost." Taggart then continues on the the satirs "Talk to me tomorrow at brekfest. I'm up wi' th' sun. - if I'm not up all night!" he adds as he eyes Nellie. "Ketch me then!" he shouts on his way up the stairs, whistling for his dog who comes padding along.

>Crossing to the rest of her rescuers, she offers a shy smile and says in Elvish, "Fernando did offer a round on the house. Any takers?"

This is where I am going to leave this weeks, they will get you saying
the drink offer in their messages. All conversations this week should be
cced to , and should be sent to ALL of the following
address : , ,
, and only these.

Furthermore, if you do get around to asking your question about if any of
the are from Wendar, include in the following and tell thim it's from me:

*Surprised at your question, Sebastien, Kagemaru, and Fernando all slowly
turn to look at the Marcuses...*

of course Taarin doesn't know their names so consider your portion to be as
follows:

*They seem surpirsed by your question, and after a brief moment they turn and look at the twin elves (even Fernando does)*

to Kagemaru & the Marcuses,

The girl runs off into the kitchen. Clain stomps over to what had been our table, grabs his bow and quiver and proceds to leave the bar (???). As he opens the door to go out, a mastiff looking brow and black dog with squarish head comes in and goes over to the pipe guy and curls up at his feet. The other (human) bar maid also comes from downstairs and goes to the kitchen right as the elf-girl returns from the kitchen with a wedge of green-veined, stinking Averoignian cheese. She presses it quickly into Fernando's hand, and he places the cheese in the pistel and starts grinding it with the mortar (or is it the other way around? I just know it's called a pistel & mortar but I don't know which is which).
The ELf Girl walks over behind the bar. Brushing debris from the fight aside, she comes up with one unbroken tray, a few chipped mugs, and a pitcher, which she fills with the tavern's strongest ale.

the bar-maid walks back out carrying a sandwich over to the guy with the pipe, and you can overhear there conversation in the background. "At's more like it! But what'll you be havin'?" He laughs. Throwing her arms around his neck and landing in his lap, she snuggles her warm chest into his and bites his ear. "Wilya be eatin' me alyve, lass?" He jests. "Maybe later." She replies as she eats a bit of his sandwich. "I've plenty in store in front of me here!" She coos as her breasts swing into his face. "Aye, lass. Indeed!"

Fernando doesn't have to grind the cheese long before you can begin to smell it.

The bar-maid begins pulling the pipe guy upstairs, but as they are leaving the main floor he stops and talks directly to you (mostly to Kagemaru) and says (in that odd elvish), " I couldna help but notice you were eyeballin' me a wee bit ago. And I couldna help but notice that ya' coulda used bit 'o' help earlier." He pauses briefly, then continues, with the wench tugging on his arm, "Name's Taggart. --I kin help you, -- but I cost." Taggart pauses again and just as begin to open your mouth to reply he says, "Talk to me tomorrow at brekfest. I'm up wi' th' sun. - if I'm not up all night!" he adds as he eyes the woman. "Ketch me then!" he shouts on his way up the stairs, whistling for his dog who come's padding along.

The ELf girl then comes over to where we are and offering a shy smile sh says in Elvish, "Fernando did offer a round on the house. Any takers?"

you still can't places what is different about her, but do you say yes?

This is where I am going to leave this weeks, waiting for YOUR
answer(s). If one or both of you don't reply this week's is basically
dead, I need you to start it with your reply. All conversations this week
should be cced to [email protected], and should be sent to ALL of the
following address: , ,
, , and only these.

to Clain,

ok, your unusual reply was a bit odd but here we go:

Your blood's still pumping vigourously through your veins, and your still mad and on edge from the fight. You know you need to vent this anger. Using your bow always seems to help you calm down, so you go retrieve it from what had been our table and proceed to leave. As you open the door, a mastiff looking brow and black dog with squarish head comes in, but you ignore it and go on out.

It's going to take you a while to get to the edge of town and then out
into the wilderness to hunt. You have nothing to reply to this week, and
your not in the bar so you are not a part of their conversation.

to Jean-Marc,

The girl runs off into the kitchen. the aggressive elf stomps over to what had their table, grabs his bow and quiver and proceds to leave the bar (???). As he opens the door to go out, a mastiff looking brow and black dog with squarish head comes in and goes over to the pipe guy and curls up at his feet. The bar-maid walks back out carrying a sandwich over to the guy with the pipe, and proceeds to seat herself... Directly in his lap.... And flirts rather aggressively with him.

Fernando doesn't have to grind the cheese long before you can begin to smell it even way over where you are. He then waves the pistel under the unconcious elf's nose and tires his best to waft the scent into his face. Eventually it works and the Elf jerks awake (in Elvish, with a crinkled nose) "oh... what happen...?" then as he starts to raise up his head "Owww!!" He grabs his neck as his face contorts in pain.

"You alright?" Fernando asks (in Elvish) but the other elf doesn't reply as he massages his neck and based on his face, the pain apparently is slowly subsiding.

The bar-maid begins pulling the pipe guy upstairs, but as they are leaving the main floor he stops and talks directly to the acrobatic (apparent leader) elf and says (in that odd elvish), " I couldna help but notice you were eyeballin' me a wee bit ago. And I couldna help but notice that ya' coulda used bit 'o' help earlier." He pauses briefly, then continues, with the wench tugging on his arm, "Name's Taggart. --I kin help you, -- but I cost." The ELf girl then comes over to where the elves are and she says to them (in Elvish,) "Fernando did offer a round on the house. Any takers?"

your self introduced. All conversations this week should be cced to

Week 89: Tserdain, Yarthmont 3rd, AC1011, 0600

Aloha all,

Well... After a entire years break (!) shall we get back to it? I emailed everyone about a little over a week ago to see who was still onboard and the replies seemed enthusiastic. However all my emails to Ryan came back as undeliverable. Does anyone know his current address? Unfortunately Kagemaru's kinda key to the scene we were in the middle of (at least as I had it planned), not to mention that it was supposed to be a conversation scene.

Give that problem, and the fact that everyone has been out of it for a long while, I felt it necessary to force some of this scene to re-start it if you will, so I put a few words into your characters mouths, nothing serious though, and basically pushed everything on thorugh the night to the next morning.

I have uploaded several back transcripts to the webpage now.

We had left off at late evening on the night of Yarthmont 2nd, AC1011. Each of you will have a seperate message for the rest of that night then most of your stories will merge into the same come Yarthmont 3rd. After reviewing what happened during this entire scene, I have decided to award Kagemaru and Marcus each a 20xp Role Playing bonus each, however the two Marcus's will split their's (and given that they each have two classes, that means 5xp to each class for both of them).

I also had said that when we did restart I would have Sebastien's background story for you all. Well It's not done yet, still trying to work out some of the detail's of Sebastien & Marcus's first meeting (Any ideas to my message Mike?). It's also proven to be a bit long. Given those two, I've decided to release it in parts (build the suspense a little perhaps), so prepare to meet a rather different Sebastien.

to Taarin,

You had offered (or rather Fernando had offered and you had re-offered) your rescuers a drink.

Fernando is the one to answer your offer (in Elvish): "First things first Taarin, This one's [indicating Sebastien] going to develop a nasty bump" The last part he says while turning to address Sebastien.
Sebastien asks (in Elvish, in a near moan) "What happened?"
One of the Marcus's replies (in Elvish) "A Chair is what happened" he says as he toes one of the remaining pieces of the chair lying next to Sebastien "One of those guys was so drunk he thought the chair was saying it didn't like your back, so he decided to help it by throwing it at you" he jests.
"So this is what blunt force trauma feels like" Sebsatien responds to the joke, while obviously still in some pain "I don't recomend it."
"Can you stand amigo?" Fernando inquires (in Elvish)
Sebastien gingerly nods his head and then trys to stand. He manages to get up but then starts to fall, Fernando and one of the Marcuses brace him though...
"Easy now" Fernando say's in Elvish "I think you could use several hours of rest before you try to return to the fight"
Kagemaru chimes in (in Elvish) "I don't think your in any state to climb those stairs yourself now"
Fernando turns to you (in Elvish) "Taarin, perhaps you could see him upstairs, while the others and I discuss what happened? They are in rooms 2 and 3"
You agree and set the tray down. Luckily Sebastien is able to mostly walk, otherwise there is no way you could of gotten upstairs. You get to the room [#2] and he manages to sit down on one of the two beds though he nearly falls over backwards and lay's down, stoping him self from falling onto the bed only with his hand behind him. Then he say's the oddest thing to you.
(in Elvish) "Watch the door."
you stutter back (in Elvish) "What?" thinking he must be going delusional from his blow to the head.
"Just watch at the door for a minute please." he says (in Elvish) as he carefully stands up.
Not sure how to react you go over to the door and look out into the hall. behind you you realise he is murmering something, almost a chant. When you turn around to see what he is doing he is apparently just finishing. You see he had been standing in an akward pose, with one hand on his back and the other on the top of his head.
"That's much better" He say's to himself (in Elvish) as he drops his hands from that pose. "Now lets see that chin." he says as he motions for you to approach.
It is only then that you remember about your skinned chin from the fall. You had even already stopped noticing the stinging until you were now reminded about it. You walk over from the door to him. He picks up the lantern on the table to getter better light. "hmm.. nothing to serious, just a very shallow scrape, still... I should have..." and he trails off as he goes over to where the groups belongings had been brought up to the room and rumages around a backpack for a bit before pulling out a small leaf, about as big as your thumb. "ah, yes I do" and he proceeds to break and crinkle and grind the leaf into the palm of his hand. You begin to smell a mint like fragrance and by the time he's done most of his palm is glistening in the lantern light from the juice of the leaf. "Now this will hurt for a bit" (still in Elvish) and he then begins dabbing his palm onto your chin.
At first you notice nothing more than the same stinging, though the smell of mint is much stronger now, but just as your about to mention that, you feel it. A slight tingling at first, which then grows and grows until it feels as if your whole face is on fire. "just a bit longer" he intones (in Elvish) so you continue to bear it. When it starts to feel like your skin is peeling away and your starting to skwirm to back off it suddenly quickly begins subsiding. It subsides so fast that you are left with an altogether odd 'blank' sensation. Even the pressure of his palm against your chin seems to fade though he does not pull away for a while yet. "That should do the trick, keep it clean and you shouldn't even develop a scar." He says, having now switched to the Thyatian language "Now child, you are far too young to be alone in a man's bedroom, and I don't wish people to start talk, so you'd best go on back down stairs now."

You start to say something, but your find your lower jaw won't quit reply to your mind as fast as usuall, so you simply leave.

After leaving the room, you quickly go back downstairs (not wishing to be upstairs if the mercenary should come out of his room, which ever it is). You busy yourself sweeping up behind the bar and where the chair splinters where. The other elves sit and converse with Fernando for a short while before turning in themselves. Why they had been chatting you couldn't help but feel that YOU were the subject of discussion, and perhaps you were just being self-consious, but you though you had noticed them watching you carefully.

You decide that Fernando's inn is not working out and decide to move on in the morn, but for tonight you'll stay as you've got a place to sleep at least (plus since Nellie will apparently be with that Taggart fellow this night, it will just be you and Lorraine in the four occupancy room downstairs off the kitchen).

My, this smell of mint is begining to get annoying you think as you drift off to sleep.

The next morning your awoken by the morning's activity in the kitchen. You can see that Lorraine's still asleep but you decide to rise. When you enter the kitchen you see that Nellie is in the scullery early to start the days work at the bar. Taggart's dog is also in the kitchen and he looks at you as you enter. Nellie laughs as Taggart pokes his head in and says, in that odd accented elvish of his "Egs, -and broth, I think. Aye, and oats. A fine brekfest thaht'll mek." He retreats slightly then pops his head back in and adds, "OH! And dent ya worry bout Sam - he'll eacha gairbidge! Fyne doag he is!" Sam sits and looks at Nellie with his head tilted to one side as Taggart goes out into the main room and you hear him call out, "I kin build a fire out here and give ye a hand mekkin' toast! But hurry it, I'm ungrry!" Nell calls back, "Where'd that come from?" "Ock, but ya give a mahn a powerful eppitite. What with the way of all yer cookin'."

"Have you seen Fernando, or Rob [Fernando's manager]?" you ask her in Thyatian.
"no, not yet this morn" She quickly replies (in Thyatian) before taking some bread out to the main room.

Your eager to be leaving, but fernando had been nice, you at least want to thank him before leaving. You go back to your room and make sure your sparse belongings are all together, then return to help in the kitchen while you wait. You keep asking nellie if she's seen them every other time she returns from the main room, and after a while you realise your trying her patience, so you stop asking, figuring she will tell you when one of them enters.
After quite a while you decide to go check the main room for yourself. No Fernando (nor Rob) in site, but at one of the tables is the elves (minus the one who left after the fight) and taggart, apparently in a serious conversation. They all notice you enter.

What do you want to do/say? By the way, the last point of your temporary damage is long since healed by now. You also gained 3 xp's from last nights 'events', bringing you to 678xp.

Sebastien also gained 1xp from tending your wound.

to Clain,

It's sunset by the time you get out of the town and sufficently away to really have any hope of successfully hunting. Being an elf you have no problem with night-hunting (using your infravision) though it is a bit cold. The hunt is completely unsuccessful, and after several hours you decide to return as now your calm (and cold) and its getting quite late. You make you way back to the town, and after getting lost for a while you get your bearings. The inn is around this corner and one street over. You round the corner and sure enough, you see the back of the inn.
You approach the building and turn up the alley next to the inn to round get around to the front door. Half way down that alley a man steps out of the shadow's in front of you. Then you realise there are two more, one on each side of you.
The one straight ahead says something in a language you don't know.....
After a tense pause, one of the one's on the side say's something to the first, who then say's (in rather poor elvish) "In that case... I said give us all your money and jewelry". They're thieves, mugging someone (you) in a dark alley. This was the wrong alley to turn up. You know that if you reach for your dagger they will be on top of you as soon as you pull it out of it's sheath.
You brace your self and spit at the first one, knowing this will bring on the attack, but your ready for it. Sure enough the one on your right lunges at you but you counter and throw him back into a pile of garbage, which make a lot of noise. Unfortunatly the one on your left takes advantage of your focus being on the right and he slashes you in the cheek with his dagger and you yell in pain (2 points of damage, bringing you to 18hp). You quickly elbow him though and now it's his turn to cry in pain as he goes stumbling backwards, knocking over some tin's and boxes, making noise.
You see now that the first one [the one in front] is weilding a short sword and he says (in Elvish) "You should of just handed over the purse."
Seeing the one in front advancing on you and the two on the sides regaining their feet you decide to risk it and quickly reach down for your dagger, but when you do so, something lands on your back, and there's a splash all around you as you suddenly feel whet as you hear the oddest accentet voice yell down (in Elvish, basically) "OY! Ay now. Quit th' Rahket." You look up in time to see the pipe guy from earlier [the one with the thing that made the loud noise that stopped the fight] being dragged back from the window by the tail of his long nightshirt by a naked blonde woman. She laughs as she pulls him back inside and hurls an empty wine bottle out the window before the guy can slam the shutters closed. By the time the bottle hits the ground the thieves are already running away. You hear from the room in a muffled Elvish "Back to bed with ye, Taggart! Or can't ye find your way." There is loud crashing and soft tussling sounds then the guy whoops, "Oy - Nellie!" as a dog barks and the light in that room goes out.

What is that stench??? And why does it seem to be coming from me you think, as you come to realise it must of been a chamberpot they hurled out the window!

You proceed on to the inn, and after washing as best you can in the dark (after all infravision is not the same as vision) you proceed to sleep.

You wake up in the morning noting that you still smell, as does the whole room by now. The others are gone already so you wash up and head downstairs. You find most of the others at a table talking with that same guy, the one who threw a chamber pot down on you and the thieves.

What do you do and/or say?

You gained 30xp's from the bar fight (you took out one of the mercenaries) and another 19xp's from your brief tussel with the thieves, bringing you to 7,658xp.

to Taggart,

You've basically already written your own story for this turn

>He awakens with a start and grabs for the chamberpot. The noise from the alley below sounds like a small gang fighting. Quickly he rushes to the window and throws open the shutters and hurls the contents of the pot down onto the offenders, shouting, "OY! Ay now. Quit th' Rahket!" The spattered offenders look up in time to see Taggart being dragged back from the window by the tail of his long nightshirt by a naked blonde woman. She laughs as she pulls him back inside and hurls an empty wine bottle out the window before Taggart can slam the shutters closed. "Back to bed with ye, Taggart! Or can't ye find your way." There is loud crashing and soft tussling sounds then Taggart whoops, "Oy - Nellie!" as the dog barks.

the next morning-

>Nellie is in the scullery early to start the days work at the bar. She laughs as Taggart pokes his head in and says, "Egs, -and broth, I think. Aye, and oats. A fine brekfest thaht'll mek." He retreats slightly then pops his head back in and adds, "OH! And dent ya worry bout Sam - he'll eacha gairbidge! Fyne doag he is!" Sam sits and looks at Nellie with his head tilted to one side as Taggart goes out into the main room and calls out, "I kin build a fire out here and give ye a hand mekkin' toast! But hurry it, I'm ungrry!" Nell calls back, "Where'd that come from?" "Ock, but ya give a mahn a powerful eppitite. What with the way of all yer cookin'." He builds a fire, stacks wood on the hearth, and nibbles at bread crusts while he makes toasts for the tavern.
Later, he will sit at a table with a platter of rye rusks and crock of soft moldy cheese (medieval folk think that this is good stuff. Taggart is offering a excellent breakfast for his guests.) for the others he saw last night as they might join him to talk about his hire. A picher of wine will be on the table for Nellie as she will come by the table now and again to catch a drink and get back to work cleaning pots and floors in the kitchen. Taggart will call for the wine of his guests choice when they arrive and except his invitation to sup with him.

actually there's nothing for you to do this turn, it's waiting for the others to reply.

I have a note in my master file to give Taggart 11xp's.... I'ts been so long that I do not remember what it was for, but I put it in my record so you now have 1011xp as an Honourbound Fighter.

to (a) Marcus,

Fernando answer's the girl (in Elvish): "First things first Taarin, This one's [indicating Sebastien] going to develop a nasty bump" The last part he says while turning to address Sebastien.
Sebastien asks, (in Elvish, in a near moan) "What happened?"
you answer him (in Elvish) "A Chair is what happened" you say as you toe one of the remaining pieces of the chair lying next to Sebastien "One of those guys was so drunk he thought the chair was saying it didn't like your back, so he decided to help it by throwing it at you" you jest.
"So this is what blunt force trauma feels like" Sebsatien responds to the joke, while obviously still in some pain "I don't recomend it."
"Can you stand amigo?" Fernando inquires (in Elvish)
Sebastien gingerly nods his head and then trys to stand. He manages to get up but then starts to fall, you and Fernando brace him though...
"Easy now" Fernando say's in Elvish "I think you could use several hours of rest before you try to return to the fight"
Kagemaru chimes in (in Elvish) "I don't think your in any state to climb those stairs yourself now"
Fernando turns to the girl (in Elvish) "Taarin, perhaps you could see him upstairs, while the others and I discuss what happened? They are in rooms 2 & 3"
Taarin agree's and set's the tray down, comes over and start's helping Sebastien upstairs. You watch them limp up the stairs and once they are out of earshot you say "She's offly young to be on her own, let alone working in a place like this" (In Elvish directed mostly to Fernando).
Fernando replies (in Belcadiz Elvish) "S, yes.. I suspect she is a runaway or an orphan, poor girl.. When I hired her this morning, I was all full of myself thinking I could get her to reveal where her family is, then contact them and have them come get her, you know, be the hero type once more... I tell you lad's, the adventuring life is hard, but once you retire you do miss parts of it.... but your right, she shouldn't be in a place like this. I should just out and confront her about her story and send her home fast. But that might as well wait till the mornin. For now It looks like I need to clean up from Jacques's 'exercise'" he finishes the last with a mix of derision and sarcasm.
The other Marcus asks (in Elvish) "Is buisness really so bad that you must put up with customers such as he? I hope your charging some sort of additional fee from one's like that."
Fernando doesn't reply to that for quite a while, then finally says (in Belcadiz Elvish, in a very serious low tone) "Actually his room is free, they're only paying for their board, though I admit it's not enough enough to cover this type of stuff."
After a round of confused looks between you, Kagemaru, and [the other] Marcus, Kagemaru is finally the one who musters up to ask the obvious question "Why on Mystara?"
He replies "For Jacques and his gang, or rather his gang at the time, saved my life."
As some understanding begins to sink in, he begins to tell the tale "I... Had ben captured by a band of Ogre's. I had been bargening for time by entertaining the ogres with tales of adventure and songs of deeds but I knew it was only a matter of time till I either ran out of material or their hunger overcame their desire for entertainment. They were organised, and slept in watches, So I never had a chance to escape. I had been forced to stay awake for two days straight, recollecting every song I'd ever heard and sung and every tale I remembered as well as making several up, all just trying to delay for the hope of a chance to escape. My voice was finally giving out on me, and I could already hear their stumachs gurgling. Just as I collapsed from exhaustion, the ogres came under attack from a group of humans, who managed to kill the ogre's. Oh it wasn't a rescue attempt, Jacques had been hired by somebody to retrive some treasure the ogre's had stolen. In my delerious gratidute I told him all about this inn I had just acquired and I promised him a free stay anytime he was in Vyonnes, A promise I have rued many times over since. Jacques and whatever his band consists of at the time have come here now more times than I can count and abused my hospitality.... Still though, a promise is a promise, and I do owe him my life, something he never neglects to remind me of.... Thinking back on it though, I suspect he's the type that might have just left me for dead in that Ogre cage if I hadn't blurted out the promise in rushed gratitude"

At some point during Fernando's story, after having been upstairs a while the girl had come back down stairs and gone into the kitchen. And you don't see her for the rest of the night.

After a reflective pause in the conversation following Fernando's tale, it is now late, so the other Marcus speaks first (in Elvish) "Well, we have a lot to accomplish tomorrow, most notably seeing this blade-smith about fixing my... er... our? Sword."
You nod and add (in Elvish) "As well as check back with that Felice to see if she has any information about our... our..." Your at a loss for words so you merely points back and forth between yourself and your double.
Kagemaru add's (in Elvish) "As well as hear what this Taggart fellow has to offer, though I suspect we don't have the coin for whatever it is"

You bid fernando goodnight and proceed upstairs. Room 3 is the three bed room that you had originally had. Room 2 is the two bed one that Kagemaru originally had. You see that Sebastien is asleep in room 2, and you figure Clain will only know about room 3 so you and Kagemaru take two of the beds in room 3 and your double takes the other bed in 2 (leaving one in room 3 for clain for whenever he returns)

If you want to change any of your spells in the morning let me know when you reply to this weeks and I'll backtrack and add it in.

At some point in the night your awoken when clain returns, you try to just go back to sleep but are rather distracted by a putrid smell. What is that? After a while you can hear that Clain is asleep, and after a while you manage to ignore the smell too and fall back asleep.

In the morning the smell is still there, but you know not what it is. Kagemaru obviously smells it as well. You two meet up with your double and Sebastien and proceed downstairs shortly after sun-up, leaving clain sleeping in the room. Once in the hall you notice the smell is absent meaning it is something (or someone) in the room.

That Taggart is siting at a table waiting for you with a platter of rye rusks and crock of soft moldy cheese for breakfast, along with which he offers to order the wine of your choice. Taggart is wearing high black leather boots with dark brown leather pants and a black leather vest over his light brown corduroy doublet. Red and gold piping can be seen the shoulders of his doublet and at the band of his fur tam (hat) and sporan (belt purse). His clothes are in good shape and show wear, particularly where armor has been strapped to it. Most notably at the shoulders and elbows. His black leather gloves with red and gold decoration are thrust into his sword belt. The sword hanger is empty, and his noisemaking thing is nowhere in site.

What do you do/say?

The Marcus with the shield gained a total of 34xp from the fight (including the shared R.P. award), split 13xp to fire Elementalist & 21xp to Fighter, bringing him to 1,635xp as a Wizard and 1,155xp as a Fighter.
What did you want to do in the way of spells? You have one Burning Hands memorized and can memorize one more from your spellbook.

The other Marcus's replies (in Elvish) "A Chair is what happened" he says as he toes one of the remaining pieces of the chair lying next to Sebastien "One of those guys was so drunk he thought the chair was saying it didn't like your back, so he decided to help it by throwing it at you" he jests.
"So this is what blunt force trauma feels like" Sebsatien responds to the joke, while obviously still in some pain "I don't recomend it."
"Can you stand amigo?" Fernando inquires (in Elvish)
Sebastien gingerly nods his head and then trys to stand. He manages to get up but then starts to fall, Fernando and your twin brace him though...
You watch them limp up the stairs and once they are out of earshot your twin say's "She's offly young to be on her own, let alone working in a place like this" (In Elvish directed mostly to Fernando).
Fernando replies (in Belcadiz Elvish) "S, yes.. I suspect she is a runaway or an orphan, poor girl.. When I hired her this morning, I was all full of myself thinging I could get her to reveal where her family is, then contact them and have them come get her, you know, be the hero type once more...
You ask (in Elvish) "Is buisness really so bad that you must put up with customers such as he?
Still though, a promise is a promise, and I do ow him my life, something he never neglects to remind me of....

After a reflective pause in the conversation following Fernando's tale, it is now late so you speak first (in Elvish) "Well, we have a lot to accomplish tomorrow, most notably seeing this blade-smith about fixing my... er... our? Sword."
The other Marcus nodd's and adds (in Elvish) "As well as check back with that felice to see if she has any information about our... our..." He's apparently at a loss for words so he merely points back and forth between you two.

You see that Sebastien is asleep in room 2, and you figure Clain will only know about room 3 so you take the other bed in 2 and Kagemaru and the other Marcus take one's in 3 (leaving one in room 3 for clain for whenever he returns).

If you want to change anyof your spells in the morning let me know when you reply to this weeks and I'll backtrack and add it in.

You wake up and find Sebastien meditating for spells, he asks for and recieves 1 Magical Stone and 2 Cure Light Wounds. You learn that he had cast a Cure Light Wounds on himself last night, and so so is suffering no lasting effects from the chair to his head.

You and Sebastien meet up with your double and Kagemaru in the hall in the morning and proceed downstairs shortly after sun-up. Your told that Clain returned in the middle of the night and is asleep in room 3.

The Marcus with the Sword is now fully healed. He gained 19xp's from the bar fight, split 8xp to Fire Elementalist and 11xp to Fighter, bringing him to 1,630xp as a Wizard and 1,144xp as a Fighter.
What do you want to do in the way of spells? Your double has the book, though you do have one Burning Hands memorized still.

Sebastien gained 4 xp's from the bar fight (split evenly), 100xp's towards his Cleric class for the cast spell, and 1xp from the healing of himself. he now has 2,552xp as a Healer and 2,668xp as a Cleric.

Taarin agree's and set's the tray down, comes over and start's helping Sebastien upstairs. As watch them limp up the stairs you still can't figure out what it is that is about the elf girl that's giving you an odd feeling in your gut, nor are you sure if it's a good feeling/instinct or a bad one foreboding something. Once they are out of earshot (a) Marcus say's "She's offly young to be on her own, let alone working in a place like this" (In Elvish directed mostly to Fernando).

If you want to change anyof your spells in the morning let me know when you reply to this weeks and I'll backtrack and add it in, you currently have one each of the 1st level spells Detect Magic, Chill Touch, Patternweave, and one each of the 2nd level spells Misdirection, Invisibility, & Nahal's Nosencial Nullifier.

During the night your dreaming again of being on plain near the edge of a forest, as several waves of shadow elf soldiers are coming out of the woods and attacking you. They're charging in small groups of 4 or 5 at a time. Here comes another group. You have time to briefly look around, you have a chance to see Clain, Marcus, and Taggart also engaged in the combat along with you and several others. Sebastien is helping the wounded back behind the combat and Gianbattista is off to the side alternating between scribbling down notes about the battle and defending himself. No more time to notice your compatriots, here they come. One comes straight at you. After a few thrusts and parries you fell him, acknowledging briefly that he had a small little bit of talent. You look up to notice another one running towards you. He is apparently unarmed, but you don't have time to chance it and your heft your sword. He makes it too easy as he seems to try to run around you. You easily cut him down with one swoop but suddenly you are aware that this is a dream, and that you've had this dream before. last time the soldier turns into a shadow elf child, you look down at the body on the end of your sword and it is indeed now a shadow elf girl. You look at her just in time to see her gasping for her last breath as blood spits out of her mouth. Suddenly a woman shrieks!
The woman's bloodcurdling scream jolts you out of the dream and you find yourself in the dark inn room, sitting bolt upright in bed with your heart pumping and perspiration covering your forehead. As you attempt to calm your heart from the fright of her tormented scream, and wipe your forehead dry, you notice that Clain had returned at some point and both the others are sound asleep. You lye back down and notice a horrible smell, where's it coming from you ponder as you lye there calming your heart. Your not sure what concerns you more, the dream, the fact that Clain entered the room with out even waking you (are you getting rusty?), or the mysterious odor. as your pondering these three you eventually fall back asleep.

In the morning the smell is still there, but you know not what it is. Marcus obviously smells it as well, Clain is still asleep. You and Marus meet up with Sebastien and the other Marcus in the hall and proceed downstairs shortly after sun-up, leaving clain sleeping in the room. Once in the hall you notice the smell is absent meaning it is something (or someone) back in the room.

What do you do/say?

Kagemaru gained 50kp's from the bar fight (including the R.P. bonus), split evenly between his classes. He now has 484xp as an Assasin Thief and 5,484xp as a Wild Mage. Also, your three hit points worth of temporary damage is healed, along with one of the two non-temporary points, giving you 6hp (out of 7hp max).

to Jean-Marc,

Aloha,
Given the way I'm doing this turn, I'm not allowing any actions till the morning, so I'm afraid I can't have you introduce yourself that night.

The elves, including the girl, are busy attending to their fallen comrade, and you decide that it is perhaps not the best time to try and itroduce yourself. You decide to return in the morning.

Do you want to return early (before sunrise) and sit and wait, or later (after sunrise) and hope they are still there talking with that guy?

Jean-Marc gains 1xp for the attempetd spell, bringing him to 677xp's.
