Parks and Recreation
I am a volunteer for Parks and Recreation. This is a great way to spend time and to have fun.
I volunteer because at the same time of having fun and helping others have fun, you learn a lot about
other people. Volunteering can sometimes make the difference in a child's life; even if it's just a
one-week program, it may change the child's life. Being a volunteer is being a role model and setting
good examples for others. Some kids are poor and can't go to camps and stuff. So they go to the playground
around the corner. Others go because kids make fun of them. I, along with many others, help these children
have better lives.
By the way, there are a few bonuses to being a volunteer: you get a neat-o sky-blue t-shirt, and after being a
volunteer for awhile, you become a leader and start making $$moulah$$....... =-)
So try it out! You can pick what age group you want to work with, all you do is register and taa-daa!
The activities happen all year long, and you get to choose wich ones you want to do.
