Qualities that a heroine should have:

1-Connection. The heroine has to connect with the audience but she also needs a goal and she has to believe strongly in it. She may do also things that most woman may not do.

2-Strength. It is not enough to be preatty to attract the reader. The heroine must have an inner strength that will bring her through the hardships she's sure to face, and earn the admiration of the reader. This does not mean that the heroine has to be strong physically but psychologycally.That is to say, her character must be strong.

3-Deserver the hero. A heroine embodies all our hopes and dreams of a perfect love. She must prove that she deserves this perfect love, man. To do this she must match with the hero.

  • This is an example of how a woman can become strong enough to overcome the obstacles of life.

    In this case the heroine is an orphan who becomes a teacher. Then she obstains a post as a governess and she also inherits money from her uncle. Finnally, she marries the hero. In this novel Charlotte used her experiences: she had studied in the Evangelical school and she had also been a governess.
