Well, my friend, you've came to the right place. Have you ever noticed how many songs are written in the Drop d tuning? This first got started by Black Sabbath and many bands like MetallicA, PanterA, and other alternative, metal bands use this tuning. You might think that you are going to have to spend a long time to learn how to tune your guitar to Drop d. Well guess what?? Your WRONG. Drop d tuning is very easy. The notes in the Standard tuning is EADGBE and the notes of the Drop d tuning is DADGBE. The same as the Standard except for the first string is D and not E. To tune your guitar to Drop d, first tune your guitar to the Standard (EADGBE) tuning. O.K. now place your finger on the 5th fret of the second string (the A string), pluck the first string and then the second string. Slowly loosen the first string until the first and second string in small sequences until they sound the same. This is the Drop D tuning! Welcome home friend!
