WordsAndRiffs, herein referenced as WAR, works hard to provide you with interactive enviroments to enable you to reach me or any of the developers of WAR, WAR members that register on the ContactRoom page, and other guitar professionals from around the world. We recognize and support the need to protect the privacy rights of our members through disclosure of our practices for collection and use of member information.
Basically you can come to WAR any time without telling us who you are or revealing
any information about yourself. The only information that WAR collects automatically from you is your operating
system, browser software, and IP address. We collect this information so that we can make WAR higher in quality.
By doing this we need information such as what our surfers are useing. Not every operating system or browser views
the same. So we collect information about our surfers so that we can make WAR compatible with your computer.
In some cases we will ask you to provide us with certain personal information such as in the Email room when you
send us an email, or your email address if you subscribe to our online WARUpdater. We will never sell your information
to any third parties. We use your information to better our service only.
For your advertising, we will provide your third parties with a log showing what operating system, when they logged
on and what page they logged onto. We will never tell them your name, email address, or physical information, ever!
You may indeed, give our advertisers your names email address and such but we will leave that completely up to
you!
When we request information we will:
- Notify you that such information is being collected
- Identify which information is required and what is optional
- Offer you the opportunity to opt out of receiving information from our partners and third parties.
COOKIE DISCLOSURE STATEMENT
You may have heard the term "cookies" floating around the internet and you may not have any idea what a cookie is. Well, a "cookie"
is a packet of information. This packet of information is stored on your hard drive. The cookie is only a data
packet. A cookie is not executable what soever! We here at WAR does utilize this technology. We use cookies in
two locations, in the WARadio, and in the WARChordDial. The way that the cookies are used
is it stores information. The information that to cookie stores is as such:
WARadio - Get's wether or not you want the WARadio to play. This cookie is set to yes then when you click on the
stop button it will shut the radio off until you turn it back on or delete the cookie. Even when you log off and
comeback the cookie will still be there providing the WARadio with the information to play or not.
WARChordDial - The WARChordDial uses a cookie to store what Chord name you want to see. It stores if you want the
A or B# or whatever.
These are the only way's which a cookie is utilized. A cookie will NOT permit a website operator to learn any personally
identifying information about you, such as your real name or address, unless you have previously provided that
information to the website operator or you have set the preferences in your browser to provide this information.
We note that you can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the opportunity to decide
whether to accept it.

WAR contains links to other Internet sites via the WAR WebRingRoom. We hope that those sites implement
policies and practicies that respect the privacy of there as well as our users. WAR is however not responsible
in anyway for the privacy practicies or the content of such Internet Sites.
