BRET MICHAELS The Movie Mogul
In addition to the POISON and solo music projects outlined
in the last two posts, BRET MICHAELS is also busy with film projects. On
January 10, he starts work on The Devil Inside, directing and starring in
the suspense thriller based on his own screenplay. Michaels plays an
undercover cop who begins seeing a shrink after killing a crime suspect on
the job, and when people suddenly start dying around him he begins to
suspect his doc. "It's a game of cat and mouse," says Michaels.
"It kind of plays out like The Usual Suspects." No Code of
Conduct, a film Michaels made under the banner of his company with actor
CHARLIE SHEEN, is slated to come out this fall. At the moment, the
partnership isn't active while Sheen, who has been arrested for and been
to rehab for his drug and behavioral problems, "gets his life back on
track. We did three movies in a row and calendars and other stuff. We're
still friends but we're taking a break now while he stays out of trouble
and doing what he n!
eeds to do." Also, Michaels has been asked to co-write some music for
the MARK WAHLBERG movie Metal God, and he plans to meet with casting
people about a role as the February start date gets closer. His plate is
full, "but it's all stuff that I love doing. It's all creative and
fun," he says. It also keeps him "a little more sober.Whenever
I've had too much time in the past I got into way too much trouble,"
he laughs. "Idle hands are the devil's playground."
