A Farewell ...to our beloved Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa passed away on 6th September 1997. The world loses yet another....
On , the world mourned for the woman who has touched the world with her kindness and her love in a funeral mass held in Calcutta, India, which was televised live via satellite to all parts of the world. Thousands came to pay their last respects to this special woman, including world leaders and heads of states. For me, I could only witness the event on my television in Singapore while trying to complete an English Literature Term assignment.
It was a long ceremony, held and celebrated by a number of priests and bishops from other countries and even the Secretary of State of the Vatican, Cardinal Angelo Sodano himself on behalf of our Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, who was unable to attend the ceremony due to health reasons. The mass was celebrated in different languages with the readings read in the different native languages of India, followed by a message from the Pope. The whole ceremony lasted for about 3 hours with together with the presentation of wreaths and the speeches given by some of those who have loved Mother Teresa and respected her, including her successor, Sister Nirmala.
Mother Teresa's efforts would not go in vain, for her work will still be continued and her wish for all mankind will still be fulfilled through Sister Nirmala and through all those who have loved her. Her undying spirit will always be present as an inspiration for them... and also for us.
