Unix Admin Privacy Policy
We are committed to your
privacy and security. In this light, we've created a privacy policy to make it
clear what data we gather and how it is used.
Web Server Data
As is the case with most websites, Unix Admin collects certain information about all visitors in a series of server logs;
these logs may be viewed, archived, or analyzed for statistics but they are not
shared with anyone. Information gathered may include your IP address, the name
and version of the web browser you're using, the date and time of your visit,
the duration of your visit, the number of pages you visited, where you came from,
which words you typed into a search engine to find us, and other general demographic
information.
Personal Data
Personal data, such as your name and email
address, are not collected at all unless you intentionally submit them to us.
In the event that you initiate contact from your name or email address, this information
will not be disclosed to anyone. Unix Admin does not send unsolicited email,
nor do we share or sell your email address with anyone. Period. We're sysadmins
- we don't like spam any more than you do.
Access to Data
At its discretion, Unix Admin may review
any and all server access logs, error logs, and transfer logs. Unix Admin reserves
the right to refuse access or service - without notice or consent - to specific
visitors, service providers, proxies, or IP blocks.
Security
During the course of business, Unix Admin may come in possession of clients' server names, IP addresses, user names,
passwords, or other personal or proprietary data. This and any other privileged
information is held in strict confidence. In particular, in the case of user names
and passwords, such information is available only to the specific Unix Admin
consultant assigned to your project, and is deleted when the project has been
completed.
