Virtuoso

There is a secret to become a virtuoso. Scales. In the folowing document you will see examples of how to practice scales. It is important to go slowly at the beginning so you don't make any mistakes. It is a must to practice the scales on all the saxophone register. This is the fastest way to be a caid. It is not necessary to go through the Minor scales but arpeggios are a must. Always play the scale at a comfortable speed. Scales must become automatic like walking. The idea is not to play them all at the same speed but to use them as a mean to achieve a goal.(I hate listening to scales except mine.) Always play them FF with clean articulations. You must practice them regularly i.e. every day for at least one hour. This is good for Memory, Fingers, Sound and even Sightseeing. Most important patience and regularity.
An old friend of mine used to say " If you want to go fast, at the beginning go slowly."
GOOD LUCK

You Can see in the next page a series of articulations and scale models.
