Make-A-Story

Make-A-Story

Language

This is a great module for helping students discover some basic story writing skills.

* Print out some stories about different characters then cut them up and mix them together. Have the students use the characters to sort the pages back into the correct stories.

* After the above activity, or after cutting up an individual story, discuss beginning, middle and end of a story with the students. See if they can sequence the story.

* Make your own "Make-A-Story" using photos of children or pictures of characters, places, various objects, etc. You could glue these into class booklets. Scanners and digital cameras can make this activity easier.

* During the above activity, you may like to give a "Silly" or "Sensible" option where the students would have the freedom to choose an option, but may describe if it would really happen, e.g. "Millie went to the desert. When she got there, she went swimming." many variations are possible.
