UNIT's first gig was at The Elm Tree in Oxford (back in January 1998), 8 months after the first rehearsal. In the meantime, they'd completed a three-track demo 'A Bathroom Suite'.
It opens with 'We Have To Stop Meeting Like This' - a stalker's tale of love through the shrubbery. Next comes 'Mr Style', a wide-trousered blast through the seventies Bond era. Finally, 'Bathroom Suite' shows that UNIT songs tackle contemporary issues - like relationships and interior decoration.
